The warmest "Chill" in OBX

Based on a great visit last year, my wife and I decided to visit the Outer Banks again this year and although in September there are hundreds of rental possibilities, only the Chill Beach Bungalow was going to be our choice. Last September we visited the Chill Beach and was completely wowed by the hospitality that Michael Hamilton and Maria afforded us. Available at every step of the process either with a recommendation or an idea to make the vacation special we thoroughly enjoyed our first time to the Outer Banks. When we booked this time we picked the worst possible week in the path of a Hurricane that wound up making landfall in the Outer Banks. Michael, the host, kept in touch throughout that week and offered us the option of coming the week following the event. Everywhere an accommodation could be made, Michael and Maria made it. Making our trip exceptional was evident in every detail. Whether it was the great greeting by Allison, one of the team members or the lovely touch of a gift beach bag waiting for us, each touch point is well thought out and is designed to overcome any obstacle to enjoying your time. We were lucky this visit that Michael and Maria were in town and we were able to meet and share a bottle of wine. I am not an enthusiastic Air BnB visitor, but, if you are looking for an absolutely worry free and a super "Chill" experience, DO NOT HESITATE to book the Chill Beach Bungalow ..... (Just not the first week in September next year)!

Awesome beach vacay!!!

Such a great place to relax after a day at the beach! This charming house has much to offer and the owners were great at meeting of needs. It is not a fancy-schmancy house, but one you can put your feet up in and truly unwind. There is not a dishwasher if that is important to you, but there are loads of beach toys and table games! We did not walk to the beach...it was a very hot week, but the two minute drive was easy and we always managed to find parking. The beds and linens were excellent and the showers were perfect! Loved the outdoor shower!!! Thanks for a great week!

Stay here and you'll leave relaxed, refreshed, and happy

This was our first time visiting the Outer Banks and our stay couldn't have been better with this comfortable, homey, and chill bungalow. It was perfect for us: two adults and a large dog. We didn't even use the upstairs the main floor was just perfect. Great location -- the beach was literally down the road a few minutes as was just about anywhere else you'd want to explore. As for the hosts -- they're AWESOME! They put up with my steady stream of questions and provided us with a list of dog friendly spots. A friend of theirs even dropped off a half dozen Duck donuts on their behalf during our stay. That's above and beyond hospitality in our book. We'd stay again in a heartbeat, loved the neighbors (except the grumpy chihuahua), and all told this is a perfect place for a beach vacation. You won't be disappointed if you elect to stay here! Oh and how could I forget the outdoor shower.....bliss!

Loved staying at the Chill Beach and Surf Bungalow

Thank you for the great stay in OBX, we enjoyed staying at your property! The outdoor shower was awesome and having both a Gas & Charcoal grill really helped with our love of food, we used both and the picnic table outside - Everyone was very responsive with my questions and the entire stay went great. thank you

Quiet neighborhood with just the right amount of amenities & fun

We had a blast going to 1st street beach every day, then coming home to shower and get ready for an afternoon in the outer banks. Loved the washer & dryer & back deck! Highly recommend! Will be coming back for another family vacation 😊

Chill Beach and Bungolow

Thank you Micheal and Maria for allowing us to enjoy your bungalow! We had an amazing time , The beach was nice, people in the area are so friendly and nice. The outside shower was really fun. We really appreciated your hospitality. The flowers wer such a nice surprise on door step . Bikes were nice gesture to have to ride. Thank you for letting us bring Maddie! I just want anyone reading this review to know this is an amazing place to stay in Kill Devil Hills, NC.

Quaint cottage close to everything!

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at the Chill Bungalow. The facility itself is clean and well-cared for. While not opulent, it offers everything we needed to enjoy OBX for a couple days. It is optimally positioned within easy driving distance and a nice walk to the beach. I would stay here again!

Comfortable and homey!

We spent Labor Day weekend at the house during tropical storm Hermine and still had a great time. We didn't get to enjoy the cool backyard or the beach cruisers, but board games kept us busy, beds were comfortable and it was the perfect place to relax and get away for our family of 4. There's also a great manual for the house with that explains everything you could possibly need. Very thoughtful homeowners!

Quiet neighborhood , not far from the beach and sound!

This cottage is in a quiet cul de sac . Cottage has nice kitchen and dining , living area . The bikes were great to take a ride to Wright Brothers and ride the bike paths ! Beds were very comfortable . There were two of us so one bathroom was not an issue . Loved the outdoor shower !

Beach Bungalow

The bungalow worked great for us to stay at. It was clean and the AC worked well. Micheal is honest about the fact that it isn't anything fancy, but it serves the purpose of a safe, clean place to stay. It is at the end of a quiet cul de sac and only a few minutes to the beach!

The house was awesome.

We loved our vacation in OBX. The house was clean, and well equipped with bikes, beach towels, 2 grills, and even a surf board! We really liked the outdoor shower after coming home from the beach, it made it easy to get the kids clean without a fuss. The neighborhood was also perfect for a vacation with children--It was quiet, friendly, and within walking and biking distance to everything. Over all we loved our stay at the chill surf bungalow .
