This was our second visit to Maui and first to South Maui, and have been to Kaui, Oahu, and the Big Island previously. The unit is in a great location in Wailea and closer to the beach than most of the other units in the complex. It is adjacent to a walking path, but was quiet with light traffic at times. Privacy not an issue unless you were on the lanai, but not a significant concern. We enjoyed breakfast and late afternoon cocktails on the lanai every day!
The photos represent well, although we usually had some of the blinds down, making it a little darker. Well stocked with appliances, utensils, and the beach bin of chairs, umbrella, and boogie boards was great. The toaster did not work for us but we worked around it and reported at checkout. Everything else was in good condition and clean when we arrived. A community gas grill was steps from the lanai and we used it once - it was clean and worked well. We did not use the pool.
The only issue was finding the unit - the address of the office leads one to the street above 507 and there was no signage guiding us to buildings 1-5 (there were signs for buildings on the street above the office). The office had closed when we arrived (5 pm) but some locals directed us.
The Shops at Wailea are an 8 minute walk and the Wailea beach path provides great morning walking. We drove to Makena and Po'olenalena Beaches to get away from the resort crowds and enjoy a more local feel.
I would not hesitate to rent this unit again and potentially others on the property. Avoid units close to Wailea Ike Drive as there is a lot of traffic on that road and the noise was an issue for people staying in those units. Noise was not an issue at all for unit 507.
Thank you for the great stay in Wailea!
