I’ll start with the pros : Nice view and spacious condo Cons : Lanai cushion furniture was all worn out and flat, beach chairs had ripped pockets 1of 2 beach umbrell had bent poles,lanai railing was not clean when we checked in lanai table was dirty sliding door to the living area from the lanai did not latch close so the security method was a stick in the track for the door The screen in the kitchen window was dirty to the extent where it would not allow the Cross ventilation breeze to pass through . One morning we open up the dishwasher to find about 1000 ants inside upon telling the property management company about this a day and a half later they dropped by some insect deterrent for us to eradicate the pests. The roller shade in the second bedroom has no means of control, and you literally have to wind the shade up and down on the barrel by hand. The sliding door in the primary en suite couldn’t be left open for any extent of time because when you close the screen behind it didn’t close properly leaving it a jar and provided access for insects to easily get into the unit if left open at night. The crank windows in the primary bedrm were seized closed and appeared to have been in operable for an extended period of time. Simple checks by the cleaning staff between rentals and general ongoing maintenance would be helpful

Fun in the sun!

Our stay was fantastic! Our Vrbo was our home away from home. We had what we needed to relax and have fun! It was clean and a short walk to the beach which was great for lounging, playing in the water and snorkeling close to shore. For a beginner it was fantastic! The room provided beach chairs, an umbrella, towels and pool noodles. We made use of the kitchen cooking our own meals while the AC kept us cool. It was nice surprise to share donuts and coffee with others in the rotunda with others that was provided by the condo. It would be nicer if a restaurant was within walking distance but that's not the fault of the owner.

This perfectly placed unit gave us spectacular sunsets, immediate beach access and a wonderful central location. Ian and his crew were super responsive to any concerns. The unit was quiet and well equipped with beach chairs etc. We can’t wait to return!

Perfect Location

The apartment is very comfortable. Plenty of room for the four of us. The place itself is a bit outdated but very functional. I appreciated very clean towels and linens. The kitchen if fully equipped. Best of all is the location. It is right in the beach! The beach is ideal. Crystal clear water, no rocks, the sand line is long enough for a decent walk. We really enjoyed our stay and most definitely will come back!

Can't beat this location

What an amazing find! We will most definitely be coming back to stay in this place. The location is super easy to access Kihei and the highway. The beach here is beautiful and fun for all ages. The apartment is in a very well managed building with a cool design. The interior of the apartment is very comfortable, clean, and well equipped. I really miss sitting outside, sipping on a drink and watching the sun set. Or sitting outside, sipping on fresh coffee watching the calm morning ocean. Communication with the rental agency was always very prompt and they were even able to accommodate a last-minute extension due to a special circumstance. 10/10 would recommend!

Best beach location & views

I’m very familiar with that part of Maui, so I knew in advance how great the location is. Fantastic view from lanai including sunsets. Keawakapu is consistently rated one of best beaches in world, and never disappoints. Swim with turtles, snorkel, boogie board, rent a SUP from next door is all steps away from Hale Hui Kai. I was there with 3 teenagers and was great they could walk to get ice cream, nails done, shops in Kihei and Wailea. The unit itself was clean and well appointed. I prefer open windows to AC and was fine with setup of AC in bedrooms only. Don’t think we used it. It was nice to sit on lawn furniture in shade or sun when beach too windy. Lots of whales in March, we could watch from lanai or lawn. So that’s all the great stuff and worth every $ to me, but just a heads up to not expect luxury accommodations, if that’s your thing. No laundry in unit, and could have used an extra set of sheets and beach towels. No common bathroom by pool, which was tiny and always full of little ones. Complex definitely older, but clean and well maintained/bug free. Overall a great stay and I highly recommend!

We loved this unit. The balcony is on the shady side of the building until about 4pm then you have the most perfect sunny perch to watch the sunset. There are NO BBQS on this property so you must cook inside. Other than that, it’s an excellent property.

Beautiful beadside view

If you are looking for beachfront views with great beach access, this is the condo for you. The two bedroom condo was just right for our group of two couples. We watched humpback whales at any time of day all week from our lanai/balcony. The kitchen had just the right amenities for a weeklong stay. Check-in and checkout were a breeze. We would definitely stay here again next time we are in the area. Mahalo!

This was our 2nd visit to this unit. The 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed it, again. The unit looked north and west for a great view of the beach below. AC in both bedrooms. The unit is a little dated, but that didn't bother us. Great place !

Beyond satisfied!

First time user of Vrbo and this property. Property was as expected via its online presence and more. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of waves each morning was the lullaby needed. Balcony with a Gorgeous beach front view for morning breakfast & picture perfect sunset experiences was our favorite part. Would highly recommend this property and revisit in the future.

Wondeful location

Hale hui Kai is a small group of condos right on the beach. The condo itself was clean, and well stocked with a full quality kitchen, plush bath towels, beach towels and beach towels and umbrellas. There are TVs in every room, and a lovely close up view of the ocean. The condo itself is decorated in a lovely Hawaiian style . The pool was unheated but pleasant after a few minutes to adjust to a cooler water temperature. Overall, I'd recommend unit 313 due to its excellent location to the water, with swimming and snorkeling right outside the unit. I would have given this unit a slightly higher rating except that it did not have air conditioning in the living room/kitchen area, (which most of these units dont have). the 2 bedrooms did have A/C however. We would definitely rent this lovely condo again.
