Beautiful unit, great lanai with gorgeous ocean views. Friendly property manager on site. Unit has beach towels and you can check out beach chairs for the duration of your stay. Easy parking included. Hot showers, comfortable beds. Has AC and ceiling fans. 5 minute walk to beach. I’d stay here again.

This was a gorgeous oceanfront property with an amazing view. It had all amenities we required, the host was particularly accommodating and responsive. We truly enjoyed our trip and our stay, and highly recommend this apartment for the perfect stay in Maui.

Enjoyed our stay!

Spent 6 nights over Christmas. Nice end-unit condo unit w/ big Lanai and views of the lawn/ocean and Haleakala volcano. The location is south Kihei almost into Wailea. It's a short walk to the north part of Keawakapu which is a long and very nice beach. The condo has AC and is very modern. Beds were comfortable. Shower was good. Kitchen appliances and supplies were good. The condo supplied beach chairs which we brought to the beach. Nice lawn area to watch the sunset. We did not use the small pool but the pool area looked nice. We would gladly stay here again in the future.

Beautiful condo

Great location and views of sunset can't be beat (viewable from beach as well as from this units balcony)! The community grass area downstairs was perfect for bbq and watching the sunset. Big enough for those enjoying the view and also allowing for little ones to play and run around. Washer/dryer in unit a plus! Furniture in great condition like photos show, not worn or old like some rentals. Only thing we had a hard time with was the stove. The dials to turn on the stove was rubbed off so we had to guess which way was low vs. high. Not a big deal, just be mindful when using the stove. Small issues we ran into were addressed right away by onsite manager. Good communication and responsive to our needs. The owner himself is very responsive to questions we had before and during our stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Maui Stay

We stayed at this property previously and really like its location, being right on the ocean and just a short walk to Keawakapu beach, one of our favorite beaches on Maui. We loved the large windows on this end unit with both a great ocean view and also one of Mt Haleakala. The unit was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to reserve it again.

Maui family vacation

The property was all we could have asked for, views of the ocean and Haleakala, swimming pool, beach and snorkeling right from the property. There were a lot of kids for my kids to play with. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this condo.

Sunsets on the lanai

Beautiful condo on the beach with spectacular sunset views! loved our stay here! We were overlooking a large manicured grassy area that we played frisbee on most nights (they even had a putting green). It was also the best place to watch the sunset. The unit was described with one room having twin beds but could be pushed together for a king and that wasn't the case. The twin beds were bolted to the wall. But after contacting management they said they would change the description on the website for future renters. Over all it wasn't a big deal. There is no AC in this unit and I wasn't aware of that either but the breeze off the water was great! (they were also installing units while we there so this might not be and issue in the future) The cable box wasn't working the first day but again contacted management and they directed us to someone in the office that could help and we never had an issue again. The floors were a bit dirty (probably sand that blows in through the windows) and I'm guessing that's a problem everywhere you stay with tile floors. Overall we were very happy with this condo and would love to stay again!

No A/C. Dirty carpet and Upholstery. Nice local.

Very nice location, good sized unit. However there is no A/C unit, and this is not apparent on VRBO or the owner’s website. I would be okay with that except for the fact that it can be noisy at times like 4am when the roosters wake you. It should be made obvious that there is no A/C. The carpet in the bedrooms was filthy and the upholstered furniture was quite dirty. The owner Larry offered to have it cleaned after we checked in. Who wants to deal with cleaning people coming in while you’re on vacation? This should have been taken care of before anyone arrives. The view and the grounds were quite nice. The pool is small.

Highly recommended stay in Maui

Our stay at unit was amazing. The unit was exactly as described and met all expectations. While we knew it didn’t have a/c at the time of booking, it would still be nice to have especially during the afternoon hours when it gets hot. However, it was not a deal breaker for us. We have a couple of minor issues but the property management company took care of those immediately, even on a Sunday! That was amazing service. Very thankful for such great customer service!! The roosters are present but after we got used to their noise it didn’t bother us anymore. Just part of island life. The grounds and common area (eg grills) were impeccably clean! 5 stars to Surfside propriety management team for maintaining it. They kept the elevators, hallways, grill and pool area very clean in a daily basis. The bathroom by the pool was also spotless! It was dry all every time & kept very clean. Highly recommend Surfside for your stay! The beaches were amazing as was the snorkeling & hiking. Maui definitely offers a-lot for anyone & everyone. With the beaches and mountains, you can always find something to do. Car rental is necessary.

Great location

Great location for beach access, reef snorkeling, and fishing. Office staff was very helpful when we had questions. Unit has great sunrise views over the mountain in the morning and beautiful sunsets in the evening. It can get pretty warm with no A/C but the unit has several fans to keep air moving until the predictable trade winds cool things down. Great first visit to Kihei.

Fantastic stay in Kihei

This was a fantastic trip and the condo was perfect for our family of 4. The condo is super clean and well updated. I really appreciated having two bedrooms, and my sons (8 &11) loved having their own beds and own TV at night. We’d had a problem with another condo double booking and this property was able to get us in last minute. There isn’t a single thing we would change in the condo.

Ideal place for a relaxing vacation

Great location. Direct view of the ocean from the patio and also from the edge of the living room. Being a corner unit, you get a panoramic view of mountains and ocean. The owners have taken care of small things like beach chairs, boogie boards, beach umbrella, etc. They even extended the check out time till 6pm because nobody was checking in that evening. Community is well managed. There is a huge grass lawn between the building and the ocean, almost like a private patio, green like a golf course. There are plenty of lounge chairs in the lawn and you can sit on the edge of the water relaxing on the chair for most relaxing sunset view. The community has taken care of small little things like coffee in the morning in the lawn, bocce balls, books, DVDs. Minor nickpicks but no fault of the property owners: Sunset is blocked by the Lanai island unlike from Kaanapali. Patio does not face the ocean directly although it still has great ocean view. Units ending in 01 (101, 201, etc.) possibly have better ocean view. Sand beach is behind the other building next door, so it needs 5 min walk. Minor fixes I wish they address: The main door to the unit needs needs lot of force to open/close. The shower arm does not stay in place. And yes, leaving a couple of extra bath tissue rolls wouldn't hurt, for a week long stay. Stocking little packs of salt, pepper, sugar ketchup etc. would go a long way in making the stay a litlte more convenient.

Great location!

This was a "Staycation" for us; we live on Big Island. Wonderful location , great, easy accessible beach, and close to anything we needed. Will be back. Vies from this end room, out the windows, are breath taking!

Rooster Ranch

Kihei Surfside is adjacent to Keawakapu Beach, one of Maui’s best beaches and has a large lawn area to enjoy turtle watching the beautiful sunsets. UNFORTUNATELY, the property administrators have allowed the chicken population to overrun the property. By their own count there 50 roosters that freely roam the grounds and begin crowing around midnight and don’t stop until noon making a restful night’s sleep impossible. Management’s solution to the problem is to offer guests COMPLEMENTARY ear plugs. Because of this and the excessive road noise we will not be staying here again.

Perfect location

Our view from the lanai was picture perfect. A beautiful grassy park bordering the ocean, the West Maui mountains in the distance…you couldn’t ask for more. The windows gave us a view of the sun rising and Haleakala. The beach was just around the corner and a perfect morning walk…never too crowded. Our only complaint was that without air conditioning we had to keep the windows open. Ordinarily, not a problem except for 2 factors…the pool remodeling created lots of dirt and the roosters made sure we were awake at 2 am every morning.

Great place, accurate pictures, nearby beach is excellent.

Great place overall. The pictures are accurate, and it gets an enormous amount of sunlight. The kitchen utensils + cookware are good, internet is solid, the beds were comfortable. The screw-down umbrellas were great. The nearby beach is very relaxing with a mild shore break and good for relaxing. The restaurant next door is expensive but great, and there's an overpriced-but-oh-so-handy-you-are-glad-its-there convenience store in the next door building as well. The lawn is a great place to watch a sunset. Parking was easy. Many molokini snorkel tours depart from the boat ramp next door; it's easier to walk there than drive. Overall, the only things that bothered us were Hawaii things, not problems with the unit: Those roosters wake up early, and you'll have the windows open because of the no AC, so some walgreens earplugs will come in handy.
