"This lodge is a very good local experience. Although the lodge needs more attention to get it to excellence, they are VERY friendly and accommodating. "There are two Kakwele Lodges. The one we stayed at was further from the airport in a back street of Lusaka, about a 20 minute drive. We were charged $15 for each of the 4 journeys to and from the airport, which I considered to be excessive. The room at the lodge was adequate, but a little cramped (especially the shower). "The staff were excellent, the one who stood out was lady at reception Edna. Keep it up. Rooms were ok, a suggestion to add a non slippery mat just outside shower and toilet. Night Receptionist requires customer care training"

"Sam the general Manager is very helpful and goes out of his way to assist you whenever he can. The staff are very friendly and give you the feeling that they are to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible nothing seems to be to much trouble. The best of being self catering but with all the facilities that you would get in a hotel ie meals cooked to order plus plus. The only item that is missing for me was that there was no gym and i am an exercise fanatic."

"First, the place is on beautiful grounds. There are monkeys and parrots and cuckoos in the trees and it is very lush and green. Inside is not so great. Water pressure was marginal for the shower- just a trickle. The bed was a plastic-encased hard mattress covered with a top sheet. The AC and the WiFi worked, but this was not worth the price at all. "Nice and quiet place. Good value for money - as compared to much more expensive hotels in town. Friendly and helpful staff. Example: I was asked if I wanted my rental car washed, but I didn't feel that I needed that, so I said "no, thank you". A short time after the staff member was busy washing my car, and of course I paid him a few Kwacha. The morning I was about to leave, he again was washing my car (which didn't look dirty at all).
