We really enjoyed our return to the Alpaca Barnhaus, a family favorite. Mickey and Evelyn were wonderfully welcoming, and let us feed the alpacas on our first day. The house was, as always, a cozy base camp for various adventures around the Jemez Mountains. The cool mountain air, the pines, and the aspens all made for a blissful atmosphere. We plan to return next summer!

Beautiful,quiet and comfortable. Beds super comfy. Comfortable space and wonderful wood fire. Well stocked kitchen. Clean gas grill. All in all a wonderful highly recommended experience.

We couldn’t make it and had to change plans. However, Mickey was amazing at communicating both before and after with how to get to the farm, what to see and do in the area, and even welcomed us back if we had a chance in the future. Her kindness and thoughtfulness surely must translate into her care in and around the accommodation as well. If we find ourselves able to head to Santa Fe/ Albuquerque area again, I will try to stay here.

Home located off the main forest road in private community. Very little traffic going by. Nice quiet walks. Very comfy inside with lots of amenities. This is the second time we've stayed and will use it again.

First and foremost, the hosts were awesome! They were very concerned about our comfort for the stay and extremely knowledgeable about Jemez and surrounding history and sites of interest. The Alpaca's were cute and very interesting, got to pet and feed them. We will definitely stay there again.

Our family loves this spot to come getaway for some winter fun. Mickey is a wonderful host and so very thoughtful and respectful. We would recommend this spot for lots of fun and an absolutely beautiful location!!!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin with our son and nephew. The cabin is clean, comfortable and the kitchen is fully stocked to prepare all meals. We especially enjoyed feeding the alpacas- such a special treat! Mickey had great communication with us before and during our stay. Thank you , Mickey, for a great stay. We will definitely be back!!

Very nice place, all the cooking items you might need, close to Valles Calderra annd other hiking opportunities, alpacas are fun to feed if you would like to. Mickey and Evelyn are very friendly and nice hosts.

We hated to leave - the house is perfectly appointed, everything one could need. Mickey and Evelyn are gracious hosts and marvelous people. Plan to sit on the porch in a rocker with a good book from the full bookshelves, relax and appreciate the beautiful Jemez mountains.

We look forward to our stay at the Alpaca Barnhaus all year. Sitting on the deck in the rocking chairs is one of the relaxing activities that keeps bringing us back. We feel like Mickey and Evelyn are friends, and now Johnnie too. We love the books! I started Pillars of the Earth in the Barnhaus, and managed to find a used copy to buy in Los Alamos, so I could finish the story. The cooler weather was a delightful break for us, since it was in the high nineties at home. The Barnhaus is a great location for us, tucked into the Jemez.

This has been the best house I have stay on my vacations. It is well equipment with everything you might need! The quality of the sheets and the crisp ironing of the sheets made for a great nights sleep. The neighborhood is so quiet and filed with beautiful pine and Aspen trees. This property is take great care of and the owners are the nicest host I have encountered. They were both so inviting. Also it was my mom’s birthday and they bought her flowers and sang her happy birthday which made her feel special. And the bonus to staying here were the alpacas and their two dogs!!! Also the sound of the bird are a great way to start the day. This location is the prime spot if you are wanting to tour Jemez area! We loved it so much we are planning on coming back in a few months!!! This place is filled with positive energy!!

We were very happy with our stay and our hosts - Mickey and Evelyn - who made every effort to make our stay wonderful. Although the location is off the beaten path, it is part of a small neighborhood, so you don't feel too isolated. It was great fun to meet their Alpacas and dogs. The area close by has many great hikes and scenic locations.

We had an absolutely amazing time at the Alpaca Barnhouse! The home was amazing and perfect for a mountain retreat and so close to nearby outdoor adventures. We found some beautiful hiking trails and visited the Valles Caldera and Bandelier National Parks. Even just walking around the mountain near the cabin was an adventure… we came across a mom and baby deer :) The owners are warm, friendly, and welcoming. My kids really enjoyed getting to meet the dogs and alpacas and were so excited to feed them and learn all about them. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay!

Mickey is a gracious host. The cabin has every amenity you can think of for wonderful stay. The mountain side is so beautiful. The cabin had amazing scenery and serenity like no other place. It is a wonderful place to escape the hustle and bustle of the every day working life of living in a city. The Alpacas are a special treat and magnificent animals. We will be back time and time again.

The hosts were so great and welcoming, everything you need for a comfortable stay was provided. Felt like home. The road getting to the neiborhood/property could be a little challenging for a low 2wd vehicle. The Alpaca's were super cute and the forest and boulders looked like Lake Tahoe. Wished we would have had more time to walk to the hot springs.

We return to this area every year to visit Valles Caldera. The Alpaca Barnhaus is exceptionally comfortable and clean. It is light filled and spacious and was equipped with all we needed. Mickey is an enthusiastic and responsive host.

We had a great stay at Alpaca barnhaus. The host were very helpful and friendly. My family had a great time interacting with the Alpacas and dogs there. The accommodations were great. The owners took every measure to ensure that we arrived safely and enjoyed our stay. Top-notch experience.
