"Typical mid-range, rural conference hotel. Archaic procedures that required you to head to the reception every single time that you wanted to use fitness facilities or pool. Correct, if not very friendly service. Overpriced, but decent restaurant (besides the pub five minutes walk away, the only dining option around here). Hotel had just reopened after holidays so Wi-Fi wasn't functioning for the first 24 hours. Blimey."

This is then corroborated by the quiet and clean rooms, warm and cosy, along with a spacious breakfast area which presents a good variety of food, replicated for the dining area. All this topped with an ample parking space. Last, but certainly not least, the caring and welcoming staff just make it a must to want to go back."

"Recently thoroughly enjoyed a two night stay at The Old Vicarage, having visited in Sept 2025, I immediately booked again for Feb 2026. Once again the location was idyllic, our room and shared kitchen were excellent. The owners Gerry & Patricia were fabulous hosts, the dogs Frank & Elsa were very welcoming and the kitten Jennifer was lovely. "The staff were lovely and very helpful. The room was very tired; it needed a complete refit. The mattress had lost most of its support. The breakfast was excellent."

Even after my husband said I drove and I would fill in the vehicle info, he still asked him to enter the info and would only give him the keys. I felt like I wasn't there! "Character room, good size with everything you would need. There were a few things that needed refreshing but it was all fine for a short stay. The breakfast was really good, hot and well presented with good coffee/tea. Good value for money and good location for many places to visit."

"Good price but reflected in the extremely poor state of the rooms and particularly the bathroom. Cracked walls, lights that didn’t work, and an incredibly creaky floor. I really felt for anyone underneath us. Useful location but wouldn’t stay again."

"This is a gorgeous inn in a picture-perfect English village! The only issues I have is that the room for 3 people is quite inadequate in size and furnishings. A couple of hooks to hang clothes, a footstool as the only seating, no drawers and only one folding luggage rack, meaning we had to live out of suitcases on the limited floorspace.
