"I had a room on the top floor. It was bright, spacious, clean and it had a great view. I was grateful for the AC in my unit because it was so hot in Margate when I was there. "We were expecting a well maintained, boutique hotel, sadly it was not. Although refurbished in Nov 2014, the state of our room (1) lacked maintenance. Although each was relatively minor, when 10 issues are present, then the result is a disappointment. I relayed these to the receptionist on departure, and she seemed reluctant to seriously acknowledge the problem. This summed up the general feeling of laissez-faire."

"The shared shower was cramped, dark, and you easily bang your head. Not only that you get a bang on the door by management stating checkouts 10am even though I was there 2 nights. Everytime you left the room you're interrogated by management wanting to know your every move. If you want a peaceful stay this isn't it. Needless to say I didn't stay the 2nd night found somewhere else."

"Probably the nicest room we have stayed in despite spending 2 or 3 times more per night on other trips. Lovely spacious room in period property with exposed beams, brickwork and proper 4 poster bed. The quality of the renovation, and in particular the ornate marble/granite work in the bathroom, was exceptional. Add in a warm freindly welcome and it rates in the top handful of all time great stays."
