Property is very old. Bathroom is tiny and dark. Bed is very old and uncomfortable.

Was made to wait 40 minutes,after checkin time,, had a look around while waiting ,around pool looked like garbage tip with rubbish old clothes,empty drink and food pavkaging everuwhere,when manager finally turned up said didnt like my attitude and refudef me accomodation said id get a tefund,whicj i have not received

You never checked in, and you need to contact Expedia for your refund, I have not charged Expedia.You were upset that you could not check in at 10:40am, after you made the booking online only 15 minutes beforehand and demanded that you be able to check in immediately, even though I advised that check-in is not until 2pm unless organised prior, and your aggressive and rude behavior will not be tolerated at the Black Marlin Motel.

Needs a bit of an update
Overnight stay small hotel with 10 rooms. The rooms have a double bed however plenty of room for a queen or king bed. Shower press was good but the bathroom needs refreshing and the door wouldn’t close. Fly screen on bathroom window was broken and unable to close window. No hairdryer. The benches and side table are new and look good. Not many places to select from in this location. The lady was very friendly at reception.

Our room was more of a compartment. Definitely wouldn't sleep 3 comfortably. Gap under the door. A/C takes ages to kick in. Bathroom barely big enough to turn around in. Bed very firm and small. No extra pillows. Items like tissues, bathroom bin, more than one small soap and some bench space would be appreciated. Reception was friendly enough.

Not quite sure how this place managed to be listed with hotels.com - what a horrible place. From the moment you drive up to the place with it's delapidated signs and potholed drive, disinterested check-in staff and dated rooms it doesn't inspire confidence. The only plus was that it was clean inside the room - but the bed was old with worn sheets, useless pillows and the whole place left you feeling tacky. Definitely not worth the money to stay here.

Happy stay
Happy with the accommodation. Great location. Easy walk to the Crown Hotel for dinner. Easy parking in front of the room. Stayed there 2 years ago and I can see the renovations done. Great job. Love how there are signs saying no smoking in side the room or outside the seat area.👍 Value for money.

Considering I arrived after closing staff were very accommodating. Bit noisy but that stopped around 9pm. Clean but showing signs of age. Smokers directly outside of the room I stayed in.

Vriendelijk personeel kon mijn boeking niet vinden en gelukkig was er nog een kamer beschikbaar. Kamer was klein, bed was smal, maar we konden ons douchen en alles was redelijk schoon.

We had booked into the black marlin motel and paid online for the room but was emailed two days before we were due to arrive that my booking had been cancelled. When I rang to get a reason for the cancellation was told it was Wotif`s fault for double booking, and it happens often ,they owned another motel (the Innisfail City Motel) and we would have to go there. We were unhappy having to stay at a motel we did not chose.

The bathroom door wouldn't close, the shower water was lukewarm, the vanity draw was hard to open, and when I did get it open there were mouse droppings under the draw, and the paint above the vanity was peeling and blistered, the fridge had no ice cube holder, altogether the worst motel i have stayed in

Hi Alan Thank you of your review. Please note that the bathroom door has been repaired. If guests don't notify us of these issues we would not know. Your review is very important to us to assist in maintaining a high level of cleanliness and customer satisfaction. Please note that we have had 5 weeks of severe rain and are just being made aware of the issues that this has caused. Please note that our rooms are beautifully decorated and extremely clean. In this case our bathroom has let us down. I have called a plumber and all these issues will be fixed tomorrow. It is always best to notify us upon check in of any issues so that we may move you to another room and get the repairs done immediately. Rather that a scathing review during these hard times. A relatively small place and room however immaculately clean and the team very friendly and helpful. Good location for an easy stroll to the main business district

Comfortable bed in a small tired room. Receptionist was delightful. A two star motel but the bed was as comfortable as I’ve had in 4 star motels

We were stuck between two different groups who drank, swore and made noise the entire night. We ended up leaving at 5:15 in the morning because it was horrendous and quite intimidating.

The most disappointing motel room I have stayed in. The paint and render was peeling off the bathroom walls. The window was filthy. The photos did not look like the motel

Okay for overnight stay suit us for our trip up to cairns as the cairns show will be over when we arrive and it won’t be crowded.trying to avoid crowded places during pandemic so stoping in small towns suits us fine.
