AWFUL stay
We booked this home for a Mother’s Day weekend getaway and were extremely disappointed — this was, by far, the worst vacation rental experience we’ve ever had.The home was absolutely filthy. The floors were beyond dirty, everything was covered in dust (including large dust bunnies), and the counters were grimy. The couch was stained and had dirty throw pillows, and the sliding door blinds were broken, making it very annoying to access the outdoor space. While the living room has large windows, they were so filthy we could barely see outside — and one of the blinds was also broken.The toilet paper was the cheapest possible quality, and more seriously, our toddler fell through a floor vent because the covers were flimsy and barely resting on the openings — a serious safety hazard.The listing advertised beautiful outdoor furniture, but there was none at the home, so we had to go to the store and purchase camping chairs just to sit outside. The kitchen lacked even the most basic essentials like cooking oil and spices; most of the cabinets were locked up.We were so disgusted by the lack of cleanliness that we didn’t even feel comfortable sleeping in the beds — instead, we slept on top of the bedding and used our own blankets.We’ve rented over 15 homes in Tahoe over the years, and this was by far the worst experience. After arriving, we looked through the guestbook and found several similar complaints from previous guests, all describing equally disappointing stays.
