Lake vacation

Our stay at the lake house was relaxing and enjoyable. The home was clean, well-equipped, and exactly as described in the listing. We loved the peaceful lake views, easy water access, and comfortable accommodations. Whether lounging on the deck or enjoying time on the water, it was a perfect spot to unwind. We’d happily return and recommend it to others looking for a quiet lakeside getaway.

Family vacation

Just got back from our trip to Heavenly Hideaway. Everything was outstanding. Loved the kitchen, it is beautiful and it had everything anyone could ever need to cook for their family. Our three year old grandson loved the video games. It is awesome that you have so many games on one device. We only played a couple games of pool but the whole room is very inviting. Also all the TV’s are up to date and work, along with the WiFi. The adults loved the dock and swam with floats for hours. I caught a very large catfish the first day, off the dock and my grandson caught his first fish just under your boat. We have stayed at other locations at the lake and this by far has been the best.

Beautiful & Tranquil Getaway

Had a wonderful time although some of us had several activities for graduation at Liberty. We couldn’t spend as much lake living as others in the family. Water was a little cold, but the grandsons loved it! Light by front door is out, so it’s dark at night. Please pass along to owner! Will definitely book again!

Beautiful Home and Location

The home is beautiful, and has amazing views of the cove. The kitchen is fantastic and well stocked with utensils, pots, pans, dishes etc. The deck is great and it’s a nice location in the cove. We had a wonderful stay!

December Wedding Trip

This was the perfect location for my family to stay while attending my nephew’s nearby wedding. The rental process was simple, and the house was lovely. Any time I had a question, the owners promptly replied. Everyone enjoyed the accommodations. Being December, we didn’t get to experience all that the property offered. It would be nice to return during the summer.

Lovely home

We had an absolute blast this weekend at Heavenly Hideaway. The house is beautiful, the beds we’re comfortable, and the location is perfect. The cove this house sits on is very quiet so we got to spend an evening listening to birds and just enjoying some wonderful views of the fall colors. I will definitely stay here again!

Smith Mountain Vacation

Our visit was terrific. There was no fuss getting what we needed for creature comforts. The house was very nice and clean throughout. Four bedrooms and three baths was perfect for our group. My only negative is that there was too many steps for old folk to get to the boat dock. Would I do it again? Oh yes!

Beautiful lake!

We enjoyed a weekend at SML. The property was easy to get to and as expected a nice place for our family to gather. We loved fishing at the dock and caught many fish (catch and release.) Many memories made during our stay!

SML House with Lots of Rules

While the house itself was very nice, we didn't enjoy it as much as we should have because of the extensive list of house rules. Among the rules were: "Do not move any furniture in any room" (makes it hard to sit at the dining room table to eat, doesn't it!!); "Kitchen counter tops are VERY porous ... If something spills, please be sure to wipe it right up"; "Kitchen cabinets will knick if things are hit into them". Why does someone put such highly sensitive finishes in a rental home? We didn't notice any stains on the counter or nicks in the cabinets. So, it didn't appear that this had actually been a problem, so why stress out your paying customers? The departure rules stated that we had to run the dishwasher and empty it, putting everything back exactly where it was!! My family doesn't remember precisely where everything was stored in our own home - how can they all remember it in a rental? After this stay, we stayed in a tiny house in TN. Although much, much smaller, it was way more relaxing because they had a normal list of house rules.

Early August, Family and Friends

Great dock. Clean. Open floor plan works for meals and gatherings. Minor issues brought to the attention of the property management were very promptly and thoroughly addressed. Great location on lake. Interior renovation done to the property within last few years nicely done. A great place for family and friends. Definitely interested in coming back!

Great time at SML

Great location on lake. Nice private setting tucked away with easy boat access to main body of Lake. Would have Givin this place 5 stars across the board if it wasn't for the # of steps up and down from house to lake access (counted 60) Some deck boards could use a little attention seemed to rotted through (felt a couple spaces througout) All in all though a very nice place....

SML Fall Visit

Had a great time staying for the weekend here. The house was in a nice location in terms of the lake, but was about 20 minutes from the nearest grocery store (not a big deal just something to know!). It is however super close to the state park, and other hiking trails! The main living space (kitchen, dining room, family room) were nicely redone and had comfy, modern furniture. The basement had darts, pool and another big TV space which was great! Bathrooms haven’t been redone but were clean, and perfectly fine, but could see how that would be surprising based on listing photos of the updated kitchen etc! Bedrooms were comfy and clean. The house itself is perfect for a weekend at the lake, just don’t expect it to be 100% updated! The dock is awesome and great for hanging out, my only suggestion would be to add lights on the upper deck. Once it got dark we had to go inside. In fall 70 degree weather it was a bummer to have to go inside so soon because of the lack of lighting. Otherwise this place was great, communication was prompt and easy, and we would stay again for sure.

Beautiful Home

The house was recently renovated in the main area kitchen/living room. Bathrooms are very outdated tiny showers, sinks and toilets from back in the day. Kitchen was very well equipped, and the house had a very nice deck. The only issue we had was the grill did not work , switched propane tanks but that still didn't help. Other than that it was a great stay. Also fyi they do not provide any towels or bedding linens, blankets. There were blankets and pillows, but they haven't been washed in ages so would recommend bringing your own.

Great location on the lake!

The house was updated recently and nicely equipped. Great location on the lake and in a quiet cove! Our group spent lots of time canoeing, paddle boarding and swimming. We enjoyed nightly gatherings on the dock to star gaze! Sunrises were beautiful!! We will be back!

Wonderful week at the lake!

We had a wonderful time at the lake. The house is newly renovated and nicely furnished, and the dock is amazing. We enjoyed using the canoe on the property, and rented a boat for exploring the lake and having fun on the water. The house is situated on a quiet cove where there is very little boat traffic. It’s just a short boat ride to the biggest, most beautiful part of the lake. The only downside to the location of the house is it’s pretty remote - so the closest full grocery store and restaurants are 30 minutes away, but that didn’t really bother us during Covid because we were avoiding those places anyway. We will definitely be back to smith Mountain Lake!

Amazing Stay! Place is newly refinished!

We absolutely loved this house. The dock was SO much fun, easy walk down from the house (not too many steps!). The home itself has just recently been redone and the kitchen was so nice. It's a quiet cove. The water is deep enough to jump off the dock with no problems at all. The property had JUST finished renovations the week we got there so we had a brand new house which was cool! The gas had been left turned off from those renovations which I only bring up to say the staff did a fantastic job of responding to our request and having it taken care of immediately. Great weekend -- We would come back.
