House was okay. It was generally clean but there were a few things that detracted from it. The pans need to be replaced. They had caked on food and didn't appear to have been cleaned. Also noticed that some of the utensils were not clean. The couch had a lot of stains on it. Needs to be professionally cleaned or replaced. The deck was in bad shape. It had several holes in it and my son stepped thru one of them. The property doesn't offer very much shade - the deck was pretty uncomfortable in the afternoons. Again, the deck needs some serious repair. The dock isn't really a dock. We thought we'd be able to jump off of it into the water but it's way too shallow. On a positive note, the beds were comfortable and the rooms were nice. With some attention, this place could be better. For any fishermen out there - there is an abandoned house two houses down - there is some decent pike fishing off their balcony. Good luck!

Monsoon Season?

We found the property to be exactly as described in the listing. The property was well-maintained and clean. The location is semi-isolated and very peaceful.The only issue during our stay was the non-stop rain, but of course that was no fault of the owner.It was interesting to watch the swift currents on Bull Bayou rushing past the property. In spite of the elevated water level, we were high and dry.We all had a great time there and would recommend it.Beware of the add-ons to the cost. I thought the nightly rate was very reasonable, but the fees and taxes added by VRBO nearly doubled the cost. The add-ons turned an affordable place into a quite pricey one.

Love the house

Honestly, loved this house! Hot tubs was GREAT! Everything about this house was cozy! Will definitely be back this summer so we can enjoy the deck more without freezing to death!

Family Vacay 2023

Really liked the lake and the property itself. The neighbors were also very nice and friendly. Only thing that concerned me was we could not get the lights to come on leading down the staircase into the pool table area and outside on the deck by the lake but we made it work with the lighting we had. Overall my family and I enjoyed our stay on Lake Hamilton. It was very convenient to a lot of destinations we want to go to and enjoy. We thank u for allowing us to have such an amazing vacation.

Great location with everything we needed for a great vacation.

I would definitely stay there again, the property was amazing. But VACASA was worse than expected. I had read the reviews on other properties complaining about this management company hoping it wouldn’t be that way for us. I was wrong. They were condescending about my questions and not helpful resolving our issues.

Great trip!

Went with family and had an absolutely incredible experience! The house was very clean and had everything we needed to cook meals and grill outside. Our family had a wonderful time and would strongly recommend this place for anyone looking for a fun and relaxing stay! Only suggestion would be concerning the spiral staircase. Noticed the padding underneath, very wise, however, suggest continuing the padding to the corners as one of our daughters hit her head on a corner. Only happened once…but overall, thoroughly enjoyed this place. Loved having a downstairs where the kids could hang out, play pool, cards or sleep. Definitely want to come back!

Fun for Everyone

We loved our time at the Lonestar. The house was perfect for our family. I would highly recommend this property. Just be ware that the loft is not ideal for older teens or adults. The water front was great for fishing and docking our boat. We loved being in a quiet cove area off the main part of the lake. However, some of the houses in the area are run down. The location is close proximity to Hot Springs, golfing, state parks, and restaurants. My daughter and son in law enjoyed several of the hiking and biking trails near by. Lake Hamilton is a beautiful lake with something for everyone.

Fabulous Property, Difficult to Reach Manager

We loved our stay here! We were 3 adults and 6 kids ranging from 7 to 14. The location was close to everything and was in a beautiful spot on Lake Hamilton. The kids could fish off the dock (though they didn't catch anything, they never gave up hope). There was a beautiful pair of Canada Geese and their goslings that visited every morning. The hot tub was perfect and hot! The pool table was an added bonus. The kitchen was well stocked, the grill worked and the beds were comfortable. The biggest negative was that it is managed by Vacasa. They manage something like 65,000 properties so you can imagine how important my questions were to them. Not. It was a difficult process trying to reach them and they never let me talk to anyone who had ever been at the property or knew anything about it. It was highly frustrating spending hours on the phone to get my questions answered. Of course they couldn't answer them so I would have to wait for them to reach out to the actual property manager and then call me back. Except it took 2 days to call me back! So I had to keep calling. It was infuriating. I begged them to have someone local call me back but they wouldn't. The listing had said we had access to a pool and to free paddleboards and kayaks at an "office" (this was why I was calling them...we could find no pool or office). Halfway into the trip, Vacasa finally admitted they made a mistake in the listing and we did not have access to these things. Something that could have easily been answered via text with a local manager who knew the property. They reimbursed us $154, which would no where near cover the costs of rentals or the time spent on my vacation trying to get answers. This was a big disappointment. I think the homeowner of this property would highly benefit from hiring a local team to handle the property. It would leave less frustrated guests and create an overall warmer feeling about the stay. The only other negative we found was the pretty black chairs in the living room were incredibly uncomfortable. Since the property sleeps 12, there needs to be more seating in the living room (only 6 could sit on the couches to watch a movie). We think a large sectional would do the trick (instead of the bulky couches and hard chairs). Also, if it is a comfortable temp on the main floor, it is FREEZING downstairs. That may not be fixable, but we had to constantly change it. All of that said, we would stay here again! We loved this beautiful house & property
