Boathouse
Stayed here for a month so opinions may be different from short term vacationers.
The Boathouse is a great 2 bedroom house with beautiful nautical decor and quality furnishings throughout. Great architectural details and quality construction. Interior furnishings very nice and support from Elbow Cay Rentals spectacular. Very clean and all accessories provided. Nice sunset view from corner of deck.
Nice location - steps to ferry dock, Vernon's grocery store, Jack's liquor (best prices in Abacos), and 1 block walk to one of the best beaches in the Bahamas. Unfortunately steps to town's only pickleball court with noise 3 hours every morning.
1 mile hike to bigger grocery stores and On Da Beach bar. Hope Town resort has free shuttle boat in the harbor.
We rented a boat for a week which really adds to the experience. Probably better to do 3 days at a time to minimize bad weather days.
Negatives:
Should be aware that it's an 'upside down' house so good workout going up/down steps.
Unfortunate monster 3 story house 10' in front of Boathouse blocking most of the harbor view. 2 A/C compressors which seem to run almost continuously since their windows are never open. And continuous construction going on with it while we were there. To be fair, many of the in town properties don't have views but should be priced accordingly.
