Always remember you get what you pay for. The price of this studio is great and the location is prime being in the heart of Waikiki and so close to the beach. HOWEVER, this place was dirtier than a motel 6. Mold all over the shower mat, dirty toilet, stains on the pillow cases and bedding, grime all over the floor. It was so nasty I refused to walk around barefoot and even wore shower shoes to bathe. I texted Martha about this a few days after check in. I was not trying to be difficult as I said I would clean it myself, but I wanted to emphasize everything they missed given we are in a pandemic cleanliness should be the top priority. Her only response was that she would drop off mold cleaner for the bathroom (which she never did). A week later I sent a more formal email to management which I then got a call from Martha saying she couldn't do anything about it because I didn't say anything earlier and had already been living here. I told her that 1. That is incorrect I texted her asap about the matter, and 2. I wasn't looking for reparations as I was more emphasizing that this should not be missed for the health and safety of future guests. She then offered to send the cleaning crew to come fix the matter. Mind you, the "fix" was mainly for pressing things like the moldy mat and stained bedding. It didn't fix the cob webs on the ceiling, the dust all over the fan, the grime on the base boards, and so forth.
As for the studio itself, think of it more of a hotel room with a kitchen and microwave than an actual studio. Only one sink that has to be used for both bathroom purposes and sink purposes. Mind you, it is not a real kitchen sink in that there is no garbage disposal so don't plan to do any real cooking here. Not only that, but when I tried to do simply cooking like making eggs for breakfast the fire alarm would go off so try to avoid cooking here all together. Parking is available here but must be reserved in advance and they charge for it. Laundry facilities were old had to go on one floor to wash and then another floor to dry because the correlating washer/dryer on the same floor was broken. Homeless is a huge issue; parked my car here over night and someone tried to break in. Tried to come home one night and there was a homeless woman guarding the elevator looking for a fight
Overall, if you're strapped for cash and want to be close to the beach then I guess this place works. Martha is always running around and Robert I never saw once.
