Great retreat at Ilikei!

Pleasantly surprised by this nice unit for two. The area was great for beach and pool relaxation. Didn't need a car - everything was within walking distant!

Stay in Waikiki

Overall we had a very nice stay here because we were married here on the island! We realize this is an older property but everything seemed to work fine. Even though we understand this is not a hotel rental it still would have been nice to have enough supplies like bathroom toilet paper for the duration of our stay or even some coffee for the first few nights. Also it would have been nice to have both sliding doors functioning instead of just one because we had to squeeze behind the couch to access the lanai. Bed was a little uncomfortable and felt bumpy. We would recommend replacing the toilet brush because we constantly had to use it. Also a regular ironing board would be better. All things considered we had a great stay on the island and this location is the best in our opinion and also the cheapest parking lol! Thanks so much!

Our family of three enjoyed our stay in your suite. It had everything we needed, the view was amazing and the location and amenities were great. We would recommend to everyone.

15th Anniversary Trip

Property is in perfect location for the Mall, Great Restaurants, the Beach , and awesome view of Fireworks. If I had anything bad which really isn’t much but internet is very very slow. Great views from balcony !

PROS - Great view - Very nice and clean room - Great location - Property manager was very responsive CONS - Internet was horrible (speed test showed between .5 and 3 mb/s, and it was very spotty) - Shower temperature fluctuated a lot and wouldn't stay warm

Great accomadations, won't be disappointed.

The condo was great. A wonderful view from the balcony; had a full size kitchen; comfortable king size bed; modern bathroom and living/tv area was great, which included a small desk area. Conveniently located in the Waikiki downtown area, with lots of shops, restaurants within walking distance. Resort had very nice restaurant and its own shops in the lobby area. Would definitely recommend, for a small group, also has a sofa with a hideaway bed. And very affordably priced.

Fantasic Service by Kaina Hale

This review is not specifically for the unit in question, but for the property managers that rented us the unit. The unit we reserved had an unexpected and unavoidable issue prior to our arrival that prevented us from being able to stay there, but I want to commend the property managers at Kaina Hale for their excellent service and professionalism. A few days before we were to leave, Kaina Hale contacted us about as issue with the unit. They promptly clarified the situation and immediately set to finding us a new place to stay, inquiring about our needs and handling the process with haste, professionalism, and courtesy. Within a day, they had found us different accommodations in the same building and worked to meet our needs and ensure that our vacation was a relaxing and hassle-free experience. I commend them for their service and would recommend renting from them in the future. Thank you Kaina Hale!

THIS HOTEL WAS AWESOME THE ROOMS WERE CLEAN VIEW WAS AMAZING AND THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT ONLY PROBLEM WE HAD WAS WITH AIR CONDITIONER...THIS HOTEL IS CLOSE TO EVERYTHING AND HAS IT OWN SHOPS AND RESTAURANT

Awesome Location

Good location, reasonable price wen you can look over the beach. Easy access to the lagoon and the ocean was great. If you are looking or a luxurious room i may not be for you. We are easy people we are islanders so we know how to live and enjoy the island side seeeing and all the activities on our vacation. We only have 8 or less hours of sleep mostly is out and about. Few things to improve the toilet is not tightly screwed to the floor my big butt swing the toilet as I sat down. The carpet when we moved the couch so we could have a view while siting around there are stain. I was afraid to use the plates they are so thin and not sure if can microwave. We left xtra towels in the atu room broke a class and we bought you two classes because it was only one class. Thank you for easy check in and out. Great way to rent a place for vacation. We will come back and stay here...thank you

Excellent view of beach!

Overall the place was great. The view was exactly what we were looking for and the location of the building is central to everything. The one thing that I can say negative is the bed. Unfortunately we were not getting very good sleep, so by the end of the trip our bodies felt it. Other than that, if bed gets replaced I would 100% stay here again when we return to Honolulu.

Beautiful view, perfect location, condo has issues

Besides the view and location, the condo had a lot of issues. Bathroom floor tiles had a leak somewhere under them from toilet, half of the bathroom floor was dark colored like mold/wet but top of tiles were not wet. Rental agency said they would send a handyman but after 2 months no one ever showed up. Refrigerator is leaking from freezer into refrigerator, had to put a bowl in to catch water and dump every day. Draperies are filthy, ripped to shreds at hem and full of holes. Sofa and chair ripped to threads on arm rests, back head rest and cushions. You can see foam through threads. Desk chair has wood broken out of back. Wifi worked sporadically. Kept going out in morning. No drink glasses in condo for mixed drinks, only wine glasses and 2 tiny plastic cups. Pans are greasy and old. Need ceiling fan, have to run a/c all the time. No beach chairs, very small coffeemaker, no list of "house rules" like you can't put anything on lanai if someone can see it like towels. No bathroom floor mats, not enough pillow cases, need map of hotel and where things are located and pool/restaurant hours, where to get quarters for laundry, no dishtowels, no rags or cleaning supplies. There is no garbage disposal even though in their binder it says to keep certain things out of garbage disposal. No soda or ice machines in bldg even though there are signs on the floor saying there is. If the owner updates the condo and fixes things, it will be a nice place! Would recommend if everything is fixed but I wouldn't know so not really recommending it. The rental agency was nice during the booking and questions though.

Great place!

Loved the apartment! The building is right next to the beach and lagoon and within walking distance of downtown Honolulu, the mall, and the docks. The apartment itself had everything we needed for our stay including towels and kitchen equipment.

This is a well located property,which has all that is required for a good stay in Honolulu.

As mentions above it is a great condo. Unfortunately it is in serious need of a lot of attention. The curtains are well past their best, the sliding doors really struggle to slide, the carpet either requires a major clean or replacing, probably the latter. With a coat of paint thrown in these items would set the condo up well for the next few years. These items aside we still had great holiday for the 9th year in a row. Great Place to Stay

We were a bit nervous at first booking the apartment from New Zealand for the first time but found the apartment was "everything" as described and we had a fantastic holiday in Hawaii. The apartment was a great place to stay. It was central to the beach, shopping, and sightseeing. The Friday night fireworks display is best watched from the apartment balcony with a glass of wine and nibbles. If you have the time use the public transport it costs just $2:50 to Pearl Harbor or anywhere else. The apartment managers were very helpful in re-arranging our stay dates after me not realizing that Hawaii is on the other side of the date line. We would definitely stay again.

Quite Good

Good location. 10 minute walk to shopping centre. 15 minute walk to restaurants and shops. Convenient to lagoon and beach. Rental cars right across the street. Condo is clean and well equipped. Two small items that could be addressed: 1) Mattress on pull-out couch needs to be replaced, and 2) Curtains need to be replaced. Correct these minor short-comings and you have a five-star stay. I would stay in this unit again.

Great Wakiki location

These studio's offer the best way to enjoy Wakiki. Get the ocean or marina view. Kitchens are sufficient to cook meals in and there are many restaurants nearby for eating out. Throughly enjoyable.

Great place!

We recently stayed in this condo (7th-11th December 2015) and found it to be as described in words and pictures on this site. The owner communicated with us from the time we booked. All the codes for the condo and details on how to access were accurate. The condo was in a great location and as a bonus each night we got to look down on the Luau on top of one of the Hilton Hawaii hotels. The unit was well equipped, clean and tidy. We were unable to access wifi in the beginning and there was no linen left for the sofa bed which we required, however, upon contacting the owner / contact person, these issues were fixed quickly. Thanks for the opportunity to stay here - it was a lovely way to start our vacation!

Excellent location, view and value for money!

It had everything we expected and more. The location and views were fantastic! The reason I give it a 4 star is because the bathroom was small and I wish they had stocked it with a few more towels. It should be 4 1/2 stars but there is no way to give 4 1/2. Overall great experience and would stay here again!

Great Room in a really nice spot, we love it!

My sister and families stayed at the Ilikai 2.5 years ago booked directly through the hotel. The floor we stayed on although it had ocean views, the corridors and rooms were very dated and definitely needed a quick renovation and an airying for the old smell but the spot at one end of Waikiki was good, close walk to Ala Moana Shopping Center and the rooms overlooked the lovely Hilton hotel lagoon and beach. I had only 48 hours to plan this trip so we decided to book a an ilikai room/condo directly through the owner and VBRO. I made sure I found one overlooking the lagoon even though there were many nice ones on the other side overlooking the boat harbor which is also probably nice but i wanted the ocean/lagoon view . This was so much cheaper than booking through the hotel and worked out to be after taxes and cleaning etc about AUD 250 per night. This was much much cheaper than the hotel booking direct and for a similar room with the same ocean view would work out to be AUD 450 per night (although the rooms appear to perhaps have been renovated ). This was great value, was booked easily and the agents for the owner were really helpful as it was booked last minute and when I called them theyy responded to all correspondence very quickly. The room was nicer than the one we booked through the hotel 2.5 years ago however it was slightly dated but not terribly and nothing a quick coat of paint, new couch, new bath towels and curtains and new bed cover wouldn't fix but it was very clean , roomy and had all the things we needed. We had 2 adults and two children and there was a king bed (very comfortable) and couch fold out which was okay to sleep on and folded up easily during the day. We had free internet however the actual connection went off many many times through out the day and night . The Ilikai is slightly further out from the main part of Waikiki but is surrounded by lovely hotels, a far greater variety of cheaper restaurants, fast food and convenience stores than central Waikiki and is only a quick $2.50 bus ride into the heart of Waikiki ( can easily walk into the heart of waikiki) , its walking distance to Ala Moana shopping Center so we loved it. Would definitely stay here again and in the same room !

Great Waikiki condo

the condo was just perfect for me and my husband. The condo had a great view and it was very quiet for it being on Waikiki. We would definitely book this condo again!
