The home is beautiful. Right on the water. The beach is very rocky but a beautiful spot. The bedding is very old, consider bringing your own bedding as the sheets they provide are thin and no large comforters. The beds are ok. If you have someone with special needs there is a main bedroom with a walk in shower. Very handicap accesible. The TV is touchy. The location cannot be beat. We watched the bridge and the island at night. Clear view. A real treat to stay here.

Overall it was a good location and beautiful scenery. The cabin itself was a bit lacking. Quite dusty and lots of cobwebs inside. The gas fireplace that we were really looking forward to didn’t work and the service phone number did nothing to help that situation. They said they contacted the owner and would let us know, but we never heard back from them. The listing said they had satellite television but it was constantly acquiring signal while we were there. At least we were able to use Netflix! Overall it was okay but not the high reviews we read on the site and just did not meet expectations.

Blankets

These items are not deal breakers, the property and inside of the home is beautiful and we most likely will stay again but just a few thoughts.. Although most summer nights are warm and blankets might not be needed but some nights do get chilly. There were no blankets on the beds, only sheets. Upon our long search we found three in totes and a couple lap blankets in the entertainment stand. I did call to request more but that did not happen. We had two kids and 5 adults. Luckily our kiddos are young so they took the lap blankets and the couples cuddled up with the other blankets at night. I was told they take the blankets away during the summer. My suggestion is that leave the blankets if people don’t want to use them they can simply remove the blankets. Instead we had to scramble and one adult did buy a comforter because no one came to give us the extra blankets that were in locked storage. Please remember visitors come from all different areas and nights to people who live in northern Michigan might be warm to most others who don’t live in the UP the nights were chilly. There was a lot of maintenance needed, trees growing out of the gutters, windows don’t open and when they do they don’t stay open, some doors don’t close all they way causing bugs to come inside.

Family Vacation

Our entire family (kids, their spouses & partners, grandkids, and dogs) came from all over with the hopes of having a wonderful getaway to Northern Michigan. The central point of assembly was this home and it did not disappoint. There was plenty of room, plenty of beds, and lots of things that made it a home away from home. No hotel could have compared for such a large group. Highlights included the privacy, the fire pit out back, foosball table for my grandkids, spaciousness, lake shore, and location. Everyone had a great time!

Perfect

Don’t hesitate to stay here! We came with our daughter, her husband, and their son, so she could show them some of her childhood. (My husband lived in Munising so Mackinaw was always a stop when our kids were little). We all loved how peaceful and serene it was. The cabin was absolutely gorgeous and generous for the five of us, in size. To say our stay was perfect is almost an understatement.

Awesome Property

Beautiful home and area. Only stayed for two nights and wished we had booked more. Loved the house and loved being on the lake. Great being able to see the Mackinaw bridge from the shore. Fireworks on St. Ignace on Saturday night was a great surprise. This is definitely on our "Let's do this again" list.

Lots of space

Lots of space to spread out, clean and peaceful. The bugs were really bad and the grass was overgrown so we weren’t able to enjoy the outside space.

Everything wonderful except house flies

This was our first trip to the upper peninsula. It really was a beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting. And everything inside was clean and closed up. We couldn't quite understand why we had to be killing over a dozen flies per day inside. Where were they coming from? Anyway, it was still very good. Fly paper would have been useful.

Excellent getaway

This cabin was great. Very spacious and well taken care of. Large open space with a beautiful, functional fireplace. We greatly enjoyed the quiet, secluded location, and the view of the lake was excellent!

Very Cool Spot to hang out in a snow storm!

We arrived at Mackinaw Vista on a Friday afternoon with no snow in site! The house was impressive with all of the cool log cabin details and amazing stone fireplace. Listening to the roaring waters of Lake Huron was super cool too. Little did we realize that a winter storm was about to be upon us and it was something else! Luckily we did have enough food and supplies for the evening but had to venture out the next day to Cedarville in order to get more food for the rest of our stay. We were practically snowed in the rest of the day which was warm and cozy at the end of the pointe. We had a nice guy deliver us some firewood from his card on the refrigerator and he also plowed to driveway Sunday so we could leave safely! It was a fun weekend spending time with the family. We want to do it again in the summertime!
