Fantastic home! This was a last minute booking because our other rental was cancelled the week before our arrival. In hindsight, this home worked out far better for our family! The house and everything in it was absolutely spotless, which was greatly appreciated! The kitchen was very well stocked with many of the necessities, which was also appreciated since we ate in most days. Joan was so accommodating with our last minute booking and even coordinated having a pontoon boat delivered right to the dock for the week we stayed! The lake isn't huge, but is just the right size for a boat and fishing. Lots of great memories made and likely the best place in the area to stay!

Family Vacation

We enjoyed our time at the lake at this beautiful location. The house was well stocked, which made it easy to settle in. It was easy to communicate with the owners, and they graciously accommodated a last minute pontoon rental request. The house was lovely and the property felt private so was a great place to relax and create new family memories. We would love to go back.

Fabulous well detailed cottage

The home is spotless and perfectly appointed. Two rooms are cozy but have great storage with dressers and closets! Kitchen is spacious and great place to gather. Screened porch is a complete bonus and picturesque. Lake is amazing and clean. Weed free entrance.

Our week-long stay at Runamuk Roost was great. The description of the cabin and amenities was spot on. I always bring my own knives and a few specialty pans, like a big stock pot and a stove-top griddle. But the kitchen was well stocked. We were 8 people: 2 grandparents, their sons and their spouses, a 21-month old toddler, a 10-month old baby, and a dog. It is a very nice, very beautiful and peaceful setting. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The property has a beautiful western view across a 198 acre lake. We watched sunsets from the end of the dock or gathered around the fire pit above the beach. The lake has a breeding loon pair. They had 2 loonlets. Don't miss the chicken-fried steak at the Hayward Family Restaurant or the pastries at Firehouse Bakery and Deli in Hayward. It was a wonderful family week in a wonderful setting.

Great Experience

We had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful and defintily gives you the cabin/cottage feel. Great sand beach for the kids to play. Water is a little under waist deep at the end of the dock which is very nice for new swimmers. Lake is quiet and clean. Interior furnishings and decor was very well done. Comfortable beds and the perfect place for rest and relaxation!

All the bells and whistles, everything you need for a great family getaway. Small quiet lake with room to play or fish. Great communication with Runamuck, Primarily with Joan who was very patient with us.

Best Vacation Rental

We had a wonderful week with great fishing, beautiful clear water, and an abundance of nature. The log cabin lake home was so clean and spacious. After renting other properties for our yearly family gathering each summer for the last 25 years, this was by far the nicest home we have ever enjoyed! We will definitely be returning next year. Amazing and Peaceful

Property is gorgeous. The kitchen has a large center island for preparing food and hanging out. The house has woods on both sides and is on a dead end street. Very little boat traffic and the sandy shallow beach area was perfect for our 3 year old granddaughter. We saw 7 loons and a variety of ducks. Loved the fact that it felt secluded yet was close to downtown Hayward, grocery store, and restaurants. We would definitely rebook and recommend this property.

Great cabin experience

Our stay at this property was nothing short from amazing. The house had plenty of room for all 10 of us who stayed and was exactly as described. The lake was clean and everyone enjoyed swimming. The owner was great to work with and always responded quickly if we ever had any questions. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you would need. We have nothing but good things to say and would definatley stay at this property again.

We had a fantastic week relaxing with our family. The cabin had a great up north feel and accommodated 10 adults with no problem. Loved everything about this cabin, we highly recommend it. Joan was quick to respond to the questions we had while we were there.

Wonderful family lake vacation!

Everything about this property is just perfect. Our family has an annual lake vacation we look forward to and this is the ideal place. We love the cozy feel, being able to cook for a large group and plenty of room to relax and visit. We are already lookng forward to our next stay!

Great Fall Getaway Cabin

Perfect property for a few friends to spend an extended fall getaway. Close to Hayward, quiet location right on the lake. The cabin had perfect sized rooms for us to gather, play games, cook etc. Loved the gas fireplace and living room area! Had a small issue with the furnace, but Joan and Jim responded right away and had someone come quickly to resolve it.

Perfect Getaway

Scenic and peaceful

We had a wonderful time here, loved the up north cabin experience with all the amenities of home. Beautiful place to stay that nicely accommodated our family of nine and our Golden Retriever. Durphee Lake was clear, warm and great for swimming. We will definitely be back.
