    We are committed to Rent Responsibly standards. This means we follow best-in-class guidelines to ensure you have a peaceful, safe and memorable stay with us. We care a lot about maintaining good relationships with our community, so we appreciate you following these "house rules" during your stay.

    LICENSE AGREEMENT: The guest booking the property must digitally sign a license agreement immediately following the reservation. The most important terms of the agreement are included below, and the guest may cancel a booking penalty free within 24 hours. If the license agreement is not completed with 24 hours then the reservation will be cancelled. The agreement will be sent via text message, so please be sure your phone number is correct before booking.

    AGE 25 OR OLDER TO BOOK: The guest booking the property must be 25 years of age or older. We reserve the right to request a photo or scan of a government-issued photo ID. The guest who books must stay at the property--you may not book for others if you do not intend to stay at the property.

    QUIET HOURS START AT 10 PM: Our property's quiet hours of 10 pm to 6 am are required by county ordinance and enforced by local police. If the police respond to a noise complaint, every individual on the property may face a misdemeanor criminal charge and be subject to a fine by the county of $300. Failure to abide by the county noise ordinance will result in the immediate termination of the stay without refund.

    Past noise complaints have always come from groups of 20-somethings. If you are booking for a group of people in their twenties and you think your group may want to play loud music at any time then do not book this property or cancel your reservation if you have already booked. Find another place for your trip so you do not have your trip terminated early and without refund.

    NOISE MONITORING AND SECURITY CAMERA: We use devices that measure volume levels throughout the property (like a smoke detector but for noise) and allow us to respond to noise nuisances before the police are called. The devices are triggered primarily by sustained periods of loud music, not things like loud talking or laughter (which is encouraged!). The devices do not record audio and are 100% privacy compliant. We also have a security camera that records the front door and driveway. This allows us to facilitate remote check in and monitor the property between guests.

    ACCIDENT FORGIVENESS: Every stay is backed by our accident forgiveness program. Guests will not be held responsible for damage caused during their stay (up to a maximum of $1,500) if 1) the damage is accidental, and 2) the damage is reported as soon as possible, and by no later than the check out time.

    POSSIBLE BACKGROUND CHECK: We reserve the right to use a third-party to verify the guest's identity and check criminal databases to finalize the reservation. Complete terms regarding the guest verification are provided in the lodging agreement, and can be provided sooner upon request.

    NO PETS, BUT BEWARE DOG ALLERGIES: No exceptions, sorry. Please don't ask whether we can allow your perfectly house-trained, hypoallergenic labradoodle to join because we can't :-) The previous owner did keep dogs and cats, though, so those with allergies may want to find another place.

    STEEP ROADS: Please be aware that the roads up to the top of the mountain can be very steep. In the snow it can be difficult to access the property. At all other times access is not difficult, but driving on steep mountain roads may make some people nervous. If that sounds like you, it might be better to reserve a property that is not along the top of the Blue Ridge.

    REMOTE LOCATION: Please be aware that this cabin is a good 20 min drive from the nearest full-service grocery store. If you're looking for seclusion, this is it! But if you prefer being close to stores then this may not be the place for you.

    SNOW-INS: During the winter, four wheel drive, snow tires/chains, and a car with good clearance are HIGHLY recommended in the event of a snow storm or heavy rain, as there is a good chance that a significant snow storm could restrict access in and out of the cabin. You need to use good judgement as to whether to cancel a trip before it begins or leave the cabin early.

    BUGS: This is a cabin in the woods--that means there are lots of bugs, especially in the summertime. Even if you are careful some of those bugs will find their way into the cabin. The best way to minimize the number of bugs inside is to keep doors and windows closed at all times. Please also carefully clean up the kitchen every night and securely package up all food.

    RATTLESNAKES AND BEARS, OH MY: Life is wilder on the mountain, so be prepared for wildlife. Timber rattlesnakes are prevalent along the top of the mountain, so please watch your step. We do not encourage hopping around on rocks. Black bears are known to make appearances, but almost always in the middle of the night and mostly in the spring when they wake from hibernation. They are generally afraid of people and will walk the other direction if they hear you. You will probably see deer and other wildlife during your stay, but please refrain from feeding.

    SMOKING: Smoking is never allowed inside the cabin or on the decks. You may smoke outside as long as you clean up after yourself. You may not litter cigarette butts on the deck, in the yard, or anywhere else--butts must go in the trash after they have cooled off.

    SHEETS: At the end of your stay you will be asked to strip the sheets off the beds that were used and leave the sheets on top of the beds.

    POOL SEASON: The pool is open from Memorial Day weekend (5/23/25) through Labor Day (9/1/25). During pool season, a pool technician will come to service the pool every Wednesday.

    WAIVER OF LIABILITY FOR USE OF THE POOL: By using the pool you agree to follow all house rules associated with it and you release the owner of the property and the manager from all liability relating to injuries that may occur while using the pool, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence.

    SEPTIC SYSTEM: This cabin has a septic system. Grease and oil must never be allowed down any of the sink drains. Feminine hygiene products must be thrown away in a trash can and not flushed down a toilet. Never flush solid trash down the toilet or into a sink drain.

    NO FIREWORKS: Fireworks are not allowed.

    NO FIREARMS OR HUNTING: Guests may not bring firearms or ammunition inside the house. Guests may not hunt on the property.

    NO ILLEGAL DRUGS: Guests may not possess or consume any illegal drugs on the property, including cannabis.

Amazing!

The property was beautiful! We really enjoyed staying at this house. It has a ton of character, with lots of little nooks and crannies to check out. There are three floors of living space, 2!! full kitchens, 3 bedrooms, several sitting areas. The BEST part, by far, was all the outdoor seating available. I lost track of how many decks, balconies there were, but there were plenty. The most perfect spot was the large balcony that overlooked the valley. The skies at sunset were unreal! One night we watched a storm go over Charlestown and it was just the most surreal experience. The pool was also lovely for cooling off after a long day of hiking. The cabin is about a half hour away from the historic area of Harper's Ferry and a half hour away--in the other direction--from Charlestown. So very well located. The road to the cabin is winding, but well paved. In winter weather, you might want a 4WD vehicle.Everything was clean and tidy, and the cabin had everything you could possibly need for an out of town stay. I would HIGHLY recommend it!

Lovely location. Lots of low bid work and furniture, including a breakfast nook chair with an unattached leg and a pair of couches waiting to break in the middle. The host was responsive and we are hopeful that they will put some much needed maintenance work into this lovely location.

Breathe taking experience

Although we were uncertain coming from the south 2 a location that was not only secluded but up a mountain! Chose 2 take the car cuz gas which made us a lil concerned HOWEVER...... our stay was simply memorable 2 say the least. We lost power and had some snow but all things considered we all absolutely our stay! We shall return ;)

Very private getaway

Lovely home in a very beautiful setting... we loved how private the pool was and the views were breathtaking! The cat smell was mentioned in the description and it was noticable, but we got used to it. The only thing we'd suggest is more spices and sugar/ sweetener for the coffee and extra bath towels... just small things that would make the place perfect. I didn't pack a hairdryer and there was not one provided but I survived. Just an extra that would be nice to have on hand. But really a beautiful home!sugar/sweetener in the kitchen..

FANTASTIC

This cabin was all we hoped for and more! Beautiful home with spectacular views! It was very hot during our stay so we spent much of our time floating in the pool! The property/ grounds was very well maintained and very private. It was quiet and relaxing for the 2 of us, but would also be ideal with a few couples!! We highly recommend this property!
