Idyllisch und ruhig gelegen, direkt unterhalb der Kirche (uns haben die Kirchenglocken tatsächlich überhaupt nicht gestört), ist es ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen direkt vom Haus aus (z.B. zum Uffington Horse) oder in den Cotswalds (wobei man Bourton-on-the-Water am Wochenende besser meiden sollte.). "stayed overnight as our starting point in exploring Cotswolds; excellent location, near the train station and high street. It was just not appearing in google maps, and the address was a bit confusing but directions provided by the host was helpful. I also liked the history of the building. "

"This stay at Blackthorn went above and beyond what I needed - some time and space for myself to write. In the comfort and peace of this hut in this location, I was able to write nearly 10,000 words, unheard of in my everyday busy life at home! The hut was perfect, the bed extremely comfortable with high-quality linens and duvet/pillows. Kitchen very well-supplied with everything I needed (and more). "What a lovely place to stay! Watching the horses coming and going a bonus. Such a beautiful quirky cottage. Clean, comfy and spacious for a couple and our two dogs. The hot tub was a lovely treat after long dog walks.. Hook Norton and Swalcliffe visits a must. Pubs are so lovely and dog friendly. The land around the riding school great for the dogs too. Caroline the host very friendly a lovely lady. "

"Was told by Expedia that I had the property to myself but when I arrived I realised I was sharing with 3 other people. Property was supposedly called ‘the cottage’ but turns out this was next door’s place. Parking was basically none existent in the end as the other people had their car(s) on the very small driveway. Only things I can say were good was that the WiFi was a decent speed considering how rural the area was, and the bed was very comfortable."

"Met fantastic expectations. Away from the hustle and bustle within the Cotswolds, yet close enough to visit the AONB. Great neighbors and neighborhood. Beds were comfortable. View was charming."

"Lovely property just a short walk into the centre of Bourton on the water, though beware there is a very steep hill to climb when walking back. Very spacious. Lounge and open plan kitchen could do with a bit of an update. Fabulous views across the country side and so many different species of birds to view from the very large window in the lounge. Owners very kindly left binoculars and a bird book. Extremely quiet setting. Stayed Friday to Monday and it was a really lovely break. "
