Perfect Spot for a Relaxing Weekend in Guerneville

We spent a long weekend at this home with two families, 4 adults, 3 kids, and a small dog, and had a fantastic time. The house is well-designed, with ample space for everyone to relax comfortably. The kitchen was a highlight: well-stocked, functional, and perfect for cooking and hanging out together.The location is excellent. It's just a short, scenic walk to downtown Guerneville and a great beach on the river. It was easy to explore the area without needing to drive much, and we appreciated being able to stroll into town for coffee, meals, and shopping.Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a relaxed getaway with friends or family in a beautiful part of Sonoma County.

Easter weekend on the Russian River

Loved the location of the house, a lovely walk to town, and short easy drives to many parks and recreation areas. The home was welcoming and had everything needed for us. We were two families consisting of three kids ages 6-13, one grown up kid, and three adults and we were accommodated well. A minor issue with the hot tub was quickly resolved. Clare was accessible and attentive. Thanks for a lovely visit!

Great family location

Our family (infant, toddler) met up with sister's family (2 kids) and had a lovely time. We stayed upstairs with the young kids, older kids had their own room as did their parents. Good open plan. For the price point, it was a great site. While some things may be a bit dated, the oven comfortably cooked a 20lb turkey for us :) and the dining table sat everyone for meals. Oh, and my sister's dog had a great time, well sealed yard for her to get out. Would recommend for folks looking for a similar kind of get together.

Great Trip Again

We loved staying in this home. Clare was so helpful, available for anything we needed. The house is well outfitted with everything we needed. We enjoyed the hot tub. Instructions for everything very thorough. Great place to stay.

Amazing host!

Over month prior to this trip, I got introduction/Welcome email from Clare. It was a surprised as I normally don’t get that from other rentals. Fast forward, a few days before my check in and something came up and I requested accommodation. Without questioning, Clare made it happened. It came off as needy guest and I hate being that type of guest but she made it happens! Clare also mad sure we needed anything during our stay and remain helpful throughput our stay. Clare not only made us feel welcome and enjoy our time but she made it felt like we are staying at a friend’s house and not just any rental. We will plan for a longer stay and book this place again! Thank you so much for everything you e done for me and my family!

Great house and location in Guerneville

Big, multi-level house with room for 8 but also privacy. Ideally located near river and downtown, but very quiet. Park with play structure and tennis/pickleball court right across the street. Owner is a very tasteful decorator and available for email assistance if needed. Big kitchen/living room/dining area and deck with BBQ and hot tub. Great for family gatherings.

Great location!

The location was perfect - easy walking distance from town, and close to the recommended start and end points for floating on the Russian River. The layout of the place was a little weird; we had a full house of 10 of us so we used the trundle beds and everything. Good for a group that knows each other well, but wouldn't be great for e.g. a group of couples. We hadn't realized also that it doesn't have air conditioning; we were there on a hot weekend so it got a bit stuffy. This is probably in the listing but we had missed it. It always gets chilly at night so it's not so bad if you have the windows open. Clare was very communicative and easy to work with, and the house was very clean. The kitchen was also really well-stocked. Thanks for a great stay!

We love staying at Vista Serena! The house is GREAT; comfortable, great amenities and in a perfect location. We had the best time, relaxing on deck, walking to town for ice cream and playing on the river. Clare is an expectional host.

Pros: Location is great. House is nice with ample space for socializing. Host was very responsive. Kitchen was pretty well appointed. Cons: Check in instructions and house rules documents were overwhelming & difficult to read—should be completely rewritten with attention to brevity, structure, syntax. So many warnings about dirtying the water of the hot tub that we decided to stay out entirely. Bed in small room off primary suite was so uncomfortable the friends sleeping there left after the first night. Lost hot water on the last day and had to take cold showers for check out.

Wonderful family time!

This is the only VRBO we’ve been to multiple times - it was our third visit and we will be back. We keep coming back because we play games on that big table, make cookies for ice cream sandwiches in the wonderful kitchen, enjoy a leisurely morning on the couches with a peaceful treetop view and the dogs smile as they run in the yard. The location is perfect- we enjoy taking advantage of the yummy restaurants and fun put put golf. But the home and yard is why we keep coming back. It rained half of our visit and we were perfectly happy and cozy. Thank you Clare for sharing such a special place with us.

Clare was helpful and very flexible. The house was beautiful and clean. The instructions were clear. The location was great (short walk to town). I would give an extra star (total of 6) if I could because the hot tub was in excellent condition (not always the case in our experience)

Hidden gem for groups and pets

Clare is a gracious host who offers an amazing home for people and pets! We were pleasantly suprised at the accomadations during our holiday get away and it was truly refreshing to find an offering where we could bring our 2 large dogs in such a nice home, lots of care and love has gone into maintaining this property. The location is great as its located on a quiet street yet its just a short walk to town where you can find some wonderful restaurants and shops. You are also just a short scenic drive to many wineries which we particularly loved. We would highly recomend this hos and home and will hopefully be planning trips in the future!

Fantastic Find

We enjoyed our stay at this fantastic find. So close to Town, just a short walk over the bridge. Peewee golf place wasn’t open nor did it look like it had been for years. Very run down. The redwood park was stunning and we enjoyed many walks there. Our walk through town was fun and although we were there during off season many merchants were open. We will definitely return to this wonderful place. The property manager was amazing and always responded so quickly. Thanks you gain for the wonderful stay.

River Relaxation

This was our second time at this location and we had a great time again! The location is spot on. About a 5-10 minute walk to downtown Guerneville. The area is quiet, the house is large and open so everyone can gather together in the main room/kitchen. Lots of games supplied by the host, Clare, who is very easy to contact and responds quickly. Looking forward to next time!

Fantastic in Guerneville

This is one of the best rental accommodations our annual cycling group of 6 have stayed in. Everything was pretty much perfect: clean, well-kept; extremely well equipped and provisioned, great location and reasonably priced. We would all recommend it to others, and plan to stay annually from now on (we've been searching each year for a "keeper" in this area and have not had any luck until now). One constructive criticism: I think Clare's instructions are just a little too granular. There's a lot to read in the manual, and if you aren't a bunch of lawyers, as we are, you'd probably give up for the details. There's a nice little adage in our line of work: too much information is little different from not enough information -- neither get you to the result you want. We'd recommend some editing. But that's us being nitpicky!
