Secluded but still close location. Short walk on a trail gets you here. Close to grand Marais and everything you need. Sauna was very relaxing. Situated on a river. Bathroom is disconnected from building but still accessible from the deck. Would definitely stay here again. Hosts made this stay very easy!

Very good communication with host, when needed. Cabin in the woods was clean, great windows that provided plenty of sunlight. Very rustic. Fire pit was nice. Description of property does mention the length to get from parking to River Run cabin. Keep in mind that is a long haul up and down over tree roots. We managed, but just bring what you need. Plenty of large containers for washing dishes and such. LED lights were ok, but provided minimal light for reading at night. Bring bug spray. Sauna and shower were an awesome addition and a highlight that made the stay enjoyable and complete. A bonus for our stay was that we heard moose matting calls very close to our place.

We made this a stop over after a week in the BWCA as a transition back to reality and it was perfect. So relaxing and comfortable. Would highly recommend this over a hotel any day. Beautiful property and access to river

Long Weekend Getaway

This cabin was fantastic to unplug and get away for a nice weekend. The hills on the way to cabin were a little more than expected but doable. Pack light and have a buddy to help push the cart. The sauna was amazing and if you shower when you are done the water will be warmed up. We loved every minute. Temps were 40's to 60's and the cabin stayed nice and warm. No issues with the composting toilet, there was plenty of solar power, drinking water, blankets and firewood. Head lamp recommend. We did hear a moose down by the water.

Perfect place for a fall getaway

We loved how remote it felt. It was also very comfortable. For being an off-grid cabin it had heat, lights, water and refrigeration (cooler with ice supplied). We loved exploring up and down the Falls River.

Wonderful Get Away!

We enjoyed 3 nights with our 3 granddaughters 9/12/12. It was a little rough getting everything in & out, but we all really enjoyed the cabin. Our granddaughters are very picky eaters, so we ate supper every night at the cabin (so we had a full heavy cooler) Thank goodness they had 3 carts where you parked, to tote all of our gear in. The cabin was nicely lit after dark with solar lights. The girls loved the loft with each of them having their own beds. The outdoor potty on the deck did smell pretty bad, but there is also a porta potty where you park your car that could be used that smelled much better. Because of the drought conditions the river wasn't running at all & the hike down to the river is very steep. Loved it that at night we played games, cards & sat by the fire, No TV! We have Verizon and did have good reception, could even send pics. The last night sitting around the fire we did hear a Moose, Pretty Cool! I would recommend River Run for a family of 5. We know our granddaughters will have fond memories of this trip long after we are gone.

I loved how remote this cabin was. It had everything we needed for our stay. The kids couldn't get enough of playing in the river. We most certainly will be back!

Magical place to be!

We absolutely loved our time at River Run! Last year our family stayed in the other property, Ferny Fern. Now it has become a summer tradition. It’s so nice to be off the grid, hike in with the kids, and have a camping like experience but with a cozy cabin. Thank you! We would love to return!

An absolutely perfect getaway setting in the woods. New construction proved to hold up over the last couple of years. Comfortable bedding. Drinking water and cleaning water for dishes, etc. was ample. Great cooking supplies. Nice deck Adirondack chairs provided. Solar lighting for deck, charging station and two indoor lights proved were functional. Light switch in main bedroom needs immediate repair. No solar shower bag provided. Grounds and trails around cabin need to be groomed for better access. Compostable toilet had an extreme odor and needs more attention to remedy immediately! Description of pack in process should include minimalistic light packs to begin then one can gauge their degree of ability to use the carts to bring in more gear. Marking lights, florescent tape etc. needed at foot ledge at the end of spiral staircase and deck so as to provide a safe travel to and from the biffy at night. Overall a very nice accommodation with a few imprudents needed.

Truly peaceful

Our stay here was outstanding. We so appreciated the care the owners have taken to make the cabin comfortable, beautiful, and sustainable. We loved the view of the trees and the sound of the river, and even heard a moose calling from the woods at night. Check-in and -out was easy and the hike from the car to the house just made us feel like we had even more privacy. Absolutely loved everything about our stay at River Run and can't wait to return.

Annual girls trip

This was our second trip to this cabin. We loved it so much last year that we’ve decided to make it an annual girls trip. The peace and quiet and cabin are all magical. A moose calling in the morning and evening is the icing on the cake.

Magic in the woods!

We had a wonderful relaxing weekend filled with bonfires and walks in the creek. It was the perfect off grid getaway where you can go to unplug and rejuvenate the spirit! Such a cute place!

Rock hunting on the north shore

This is a little slice of heaven! Took my 13 year old son rock hunting and hiking for his birthday and this property did not disappoint! Yes there is no shower and the trail leading to the home is a bit long and depending on the weather muddy, but it's worth it! The stream running near by is lovely and you can hear it babbling from the home. We LOVED this rental and will definitely be back.

Girls getaway

This is a magical little retreat. It is very clean and beautiful. A lot of thought went into this space. The setting is also beautiful-being off the grid and in the woods is a great way to escape. So nice to be close to town though for anything you might need. The calls of the moose in the area were a highlight. We would DEFINITELY come here again.
