The host was gracious and shared all the important information regarding check in / out. The home was fully equipped with everything necessary for comfort and functionality. The home worked perfectly for our family of 9 (ages 3 to 71)!

We had a great stay at the farm! The house was clean and comfortable, and our kids loved helping with the cows—it was such a memorable experience for them. We also really enjoyed the walking route that overlooked Lake Superior; it was beautiful and peaceful. Overall, a wonderful stay and we’d happily return.

We loved our stay at the Farmhouse! Lyndsay was an absolutely amazing host and the house had plenty of room for our family of 5 and my in-laws. Everyone loved waking up and coming home to the cows, especially our kids. The house was clean and kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. Location was great being just a short drive from downtown Grand Marais. A truly unique experience in the North Shore and we hope to be back again next time!

We had a wonderful long weekend at the farmhouse. Lyndsay has done a beautiful job making sure the house has everything you need! The beds were comfy, the bathrooms are huge and well appointed and the kitchen is ready to make anything you can think of. We all enjoyed having the cows and beautiful scenery around.Thank you Lyndsay!

This was our 2nd year staying at the farm (our 39th year of our girls get-a-way), and we loved it once again. The kitchen was well stocked and the home is in great condition. I will miss hearing the cows in the morning and having them mill around the house for photos! We had perfect weather to enjoyed Grand Marais, Lutsen and the Art Along the Lake Tour. We had such a great time at Lyndsay’s place! Our kids had a blast helping out with farm chores in the morning and afternoon, and everyone was so kind in letting them tag along. Lyndsay really does go above and beyond what you’d expect of a host in teaching her guests about the milking process and letting them get involved, but we always felt like we had our own space and plenty of privacy when we wanted to relax in the farmhouse. She did such a great job decorating and making it feel comfortable and homey. The kids loved making the bunk room their own space and the adults enjoyed playing board games around the dining room table in the evening. We can’t wait to return for more adventures and to make more memories!

This stay was amazing!!! We had all the bridesmaids getting ready and take photos for the wedding party here. Lyndsey was super attentive and so sweet. It was lovely to have the livestock around as we were shooting photos. Definitely recommend.

Great Rental

The house was great! The owners were great and very attentive. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed (and then some). The beds were very comfortable. The house was beautifully decorated and perfect for our Girls Weekend!

We are a multi family of 10, age ranging from 9-73 (5 kids). This was our 6th year staying at the farmers house. It is such a magical place. The house is still just as beautiful as the first time we stayed. Lyndsay takes such great care of the house. You can see the love she’s poured into every corner. It’s even more beautiful in person than in the photos. Next, you are outside on the farm- milking cows, feeding the animals, hiking to the nearby waterfall (swimming when the water level allows!), accessing the pincushion trail never having to get into your vehicle…the list goes on. We will forever return to the farmer’s house as long as Lyndsay and her family continue to share this gem of a vacation home/experience/adventure/farm with us all. Until next year!

Perfect family vacation

We had such a good time at this rental. The farmhouse is beautiful and had all of the amenities we needed. The family loved visiting the animals and easy access to farm-fresh eggs and dairy too. Just a short drive into downtown Grand Marais, which was easy.

Working Farm- Interesting for All Ages

The house was amazing and comfortable! Beautifully decorated as indicated by the photos. The kitchen and bathrooms were well-stocked. Enjoyed watching the cows being milked and being able to taste fresh warm milk.

Everyone loved the cows!

This property is a rustic farmhouse on a real dairy farm. We had many opportunities to see and hangout with the cows we even talked to the owner and were able to milk them! Along with that this farmhouse has a great view of Lake Superior and has great hiking/walking trails around it. We spent one day skiing at lutsen and the other two hiking and going to wineries and breweries.

Cozy winter getaway

Maybe we are crazy to head farther north at one of the coldest times of the year, but when your two young 20-something daughters are both available for the long weekend, you take advantage of the rare opportunity. With grandma and two dogs also in tow, we spent an incredibly cozy and beautiful extended weekend at this lovely farmhouse. It is truly in the center of the farm, which has scenic views of Lake Superior, rustic farm buildings, cows and woods. The beautifully decorated farmhouse has everything you need—heated floors, rainfall showers, crockpots, and even a modern phone charger built right into the huge awesome kitchen counter. We ventured out in subzero weather for milking in addition to visiting some of our favorite Grand Marais and Lutsen spots. Incredible respect for our host and family who run a top notch VRBO in between birthing calves, farming, and tending animals! Thank you Lindsay and family!

Great winter getaway!

Wonderfully warm and welcoming home perfect for our weekend ski getaway. For our group of 7 perfectly with beds to spare and gave us access to both downhill and cross country skiing closeby. Loved getting to visit in the barn during morning milking too!

A home away from home

What a special place to stay! We live on a hobby farm so this felt just like a home away from home! With the farmyard out the back, getting to help milk cows in the morning, sounds of the country, and a view of Lake Superior from the farm, you couldn’t ask for anything better! Just an absolutely beautiful home, setting, and gem of a host! Lyndsay is the absolute sweetest host and so down to earth- it was a pleasure visiting with her while milking the cows! The home is absolutely stunning and the whole experience of staying here is absolutely wonderful!

Ole Girls Get-A-Way

We have a group of St. Olaf alums (or alum connections) who have been going away for a girls' weekend for 38 years. This was the 1st time for some of our group to visit Grand Marais, however, the farm was a wonderful new experience for all of us. What was once a grandparent's home on the farm has been totally remodeled and updated - it is first class and charming! We loved it all - the wonderfully decorated "farm" interior, a fully equipped kitchen, great beds, luxurious towels, the lake view in the distance, and the ambiance of the farm with the herd of cows roaming near by. The host couldn't have been more welcoming, it was a trip to treasure and remember. Thank you Lyndsey!

Long weekend

This was our second time staying on property, and this time we came up with our parents as well as all 3 kids. Perfect place to rest, let the kids explore outside and meet the farm animals. The house has everything to make us feel comfortable and the family enjoyed meeting everyone working at the farm. We will be back again sooner than later!
