"The best way to describe the Great Western is with the two words, quaint and quirky! The house is in the middle of a massive re-vamp, but that did not impinge on my stay, which was short, but long enough to form a very positive opinion. My room was clearly re-purposed, with the en-suite bolted on, but it was clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom fittings were quite new and of a good standard. The furnishings were old-fashioned, but I thought that gave the place its charm and...

"Excellent all round. Such a lovely helpful, warm welcome on arrival and every morning at breakfast, which was delicious. Room was lovely, spacious enough for two and really quiet. 2 min walk to beachfront, 5 min walk to town. Will definitely be going back."

"Steve and Claire are amazing, it was a pleasure staying at The Clifton for 2 nights, perfect location to the pier, seafront, pubs and bars. Rooms very clean and tidy, everything you need. Breakfast was brilliant, very accommodating with food choice changes. Cost was more than reasonable and the far better than expected for the price. Comfy beds, quiet area and we slept brilliantly. Ours hosts were so friendly and provided a welcoming atmosphere, we have family in Paignton and will 100 percent...

"Nice clean, cheap and quiet room to stay the night whilst travelling. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We had a couple minor issues (not the fault of the hotel in any way) which were resolved quickly and easily by the staff. The bathroom in my room was excellent. Massive shower and super modern and clean. Highly recommended. "

"We had a lovely stay , property clean and stylish. Beach and park only 5 minute walk down small hill. Would have prefered bedroom window blinds to be darker as kept the rooms quite light all through the night. Only issue we had was property above , very creeky and loud bangs on ceiling thriughout the night ."

"The advert on the hotels.com website did not match the facts of the stay. The advert states free parking it was not it cost me £30 for the stay. We spoke to the owner who stated that the advert was not placed by him. It was the fault of hotels.com as he does not use them you get your info from a 3rd party All I know is that I am £30 out of pocket. The stay was good as I can not blame hotels.com for all the rain."
