Jo is a great host, always available & helpful. The B&B is right in the centre of town but still quiet (bar the seagulls!), it's perfectly clean & secure, everything works perfectly, always hot water in the shower, tea & coffee making kit & even a fan in the room to keep you cool in the hot weather - what more could you want? Thoroughly recommended by me for your stay in Paignton.

Staff kindly upgraded me to a medium double, as opposed to the smaller double I paid for. Room was clean, and the shower to die for. Bed was slightly lop-sided, but very comfortable. Enjoyed the stay there, close to the front and local amenities...recommended!

First visit to Torbay

Had a lovely stay in this homely b&b. Comfortable bed, spacious room, the breakfast was great, Jo, the owner, catered for me as a vegan. To top it all off there's a resident cat who makes the stay even better.

Quiet, relaxing break

A pleasant few nights, very quiet and in a good location close to the beach and town centre. The hosts were friendly and happy to mind our luggage for a few hours both before and after our stay (train strikes meant we had to travel down earlier than expected). Would definitely stay there again.

2/10 Terrible

Booked for 3 nights after reading the excellent reviews. Big mistake. Were greeted with ‘name?’ ‘Room 2, first floor’. The first thing we noticed was the filthy, stained carpet. Then on closer inspection the net curtains were rotten, dead flies and believe it or not feathers on the window sill. The bedding was very old and past its best. The shower had soap scum in the tray and hadn’t been cleaned and there was black mould at the bottom of the shower screen. The bathroom door was covered in dirty finger prints and there were screw holes in the door where the handle had been replaced and hadn’t been repaired. The toilet brush was appalling. It was too late to find anywhere else but we handed back the key first thing in the morning and managed to find alternative accommodation which we hadn’t budgeted for but didn’t want to stay any longer. I don’t think we will be able to trust extremely positive views any longer. This wasn’t just a room that hadn’t been cleaned properly, it was long term neglect, a complete waste of money and we were bitterly disappointed having been Expedia customers for many years.

Enjoyed our stay. Got off to a great start, on arrival our rooms were ready and we could go to our rooms 3 hours early. On leaving our bags we’re looked after allowing us more free time. Enjoyed breakfast and service. Hot food and hot service. Very good stay

the room was lovely and big. the bed was big too as a single occupancy i expected a single bed. The bed was very uncomfortable, the sheets smelt damp and smokey, certainly not fresh. The room was at the back and i stayed 3 nights being woken up by seagulls from 3am... so not the bnb fault at all. i came to relax, but i didnt. the towels could be bath sheets, not hand towels shower was great i would stay again but at the front.

Extremely disappointed

Outside of the building was very scruffy and dirty as was the entrance which was full of boxes and advertising leaflets. The stair carpets and hallway ways need a deep clean and hand rails could do with scraping off and re varnishing. The room was so small i kept knocking into the corner of the bed when i walked pass as there was a chair there and no where else to put it. The cleanliness of the room was poor too, the kettle was dirty a lot if things in the room felt tacky. There were marks on the duvet cover, black mould around the bottom of the shower, the radiator in the bathroom was dirty and rusty. There was a fan in the room that was full of dust also. The floor in the bathroom had a large dark mark on it. Coat hook broken on the back of the entrance door, the bathroom towels had bleach marks on them
