We booked a room in this charming b&b at Gilston behind Nerang 15 minutes away from the gold coast depending on traffic and time of the day,we had discovered a rare gem ,not only in the setting, but also in the service provided by Caroline and Robert the owners of riviera bed and breakfast set in bush land filled with bird life and other critters common to the bush .
we elected to have dinner and breakfast there ,simply for a change from crowded restaurants, and were pleasently surprised at the fare on offer, robert cooks for the pleasure of cooking his cooking is [provencal and nicois] home cooking a la francaise ,the ratatouille was out of this world ,the lamb served on a bed of rice with green vegetables tasted like no other lamb i have ever tasted,at breakfast we had coffee with a choice of juice toast and home made marmalade, but the tour de force was the omellette prepared the night before with secret ingredients, the omellette was worth the trip on its on,we will definitely be back
