The house and property were excellent. Lots of nice touches in the house. Everything you could need for cooking and dining! Plenty of space for our crew of 7 adults and 6 kids ages 3-9 years old!

Perfection!!!

Our son was getting married at Hammond Castle. We wanted a very comfortable stay for all of us to be able to get ready for the wedding. It was perfection. Pete is an extraordinary host!!! He was so helpful and answered all of our questions very quickly. Cannot recommend enough!

Lovely week

My 4 children their spouse and 6 grandchildren stayed for a week. When it rained, we explored Salem and then another day, the Boston freedom walk. The rest of the week we spent on the beach. It was lovely there.

Great beach location for girls weekend

Had a great time at house. Pete was very accommodating allowing us to come in early to decorate for birthday celebration. The walk to beach was so close and convenient. Our group did a sunset cruise on the friki tiki and had a blast. House was nice to stay in. Bedroom in cellar was hot due to lack of AC but besides that house was perfect. Lots of room to hang as a large group. If your looking for steps to the beach this is the place

Wonderful house

This large, clean house served us well for a family gathering over the weekend. The owner was easy to deal with (although messages sent through VRBO platform were not responded to but presume that is an issue with VRBO and not the owner as he promptly responded to direct text messages). The beds were comfortable and the outside areas nice, although we had rain all weekend. Kitchen is modern and well equipped. Would highly recommend.

An inviting beach side home with tons of space for gathering and a very accommodating host!

This rental was planned for three siblings and their families to get to spend some relaxing time together and see Salem at Halloween! The home was beautiful, spacious and well equipped. We had 12 and a half (baby) guests, with no problems regarding sleeping arrangements. We were able to cook, dine together, host a murder mystery party, see the beach, and have separate down time without tripping over one another. The beach is a quick walk past a few other beautiful homes with lovely and helpful neighbors. Grocery store within 5 minutes, and pretty much all the dining one could want within a few minute drive. With respect to the host, Pete was a dream to work with. When we made the long drive from PA to arrive at 1 AM the day of check in, he allowed us to get into the property early rather than try to get a hotel for the night. Short of being responsible for towels, we weren’t saddled with odd cleaning responsibilities that private rentals are becoming known for. All in all, I could not recommend this property, host or town any more. We will absolutely be renting from Pete again!

Wonderful in every way. Except….

Location: perfect, including walk to the beach, neighbors and neighborhood. All onsite supplies: including towels, kitchen supplies, dishes, storage containers, games for all ages. Entertainment: TV, internet connection. And more; much more. The only problem, and it was a real problem, is the lack of air-conditioning on the bottom level. GM

Great time in Gloucester

We rented the house in Gloucester for my family, including grown children and a couple of grandkids. There was plenty of room for everyone, including a nice outdoor space. Kitchen was well equipped. Plenty of towels, linens,, etc. Plenty of parking for at least four cars. Less than two minute walk to the beach.

Great Location

This house was the perfect location for enjoying Long Beach. There is a short path directly to the beach and the kids were able to come and go all day. The house has plenty of room to spread out in and the kitchen area had plenty of space for a large group. Everything was clean and as advertised. We would definitely rent the house again. And the warm water in the outdoor shower was a nice benefit!

I will never work with this host or property again.

The story begins a few days prior to our stay when the host stalked me on a professional networking website -- which I use for my business -- and contacted me there which made me feel very unsafe and was not professional at all. Of course this followed up with a message that threatens us with ridiculous fines like hundreds of dollars if we don't wash the towels in the laundry(!) and leave them clean to the next guests (never seen anything like this at anywhere I stayed in). He also made us buy our own trash bags for the weekend(!). Upon arrival, the hot water didn't work. I spent hours on the phone with the host and he had no idea how to fix it - just told me to wait. We ended up waiting and the hot water returned but then vanished and returned all throughout our stay - clearly a problem. The host had my number after the hot water incident and during our stay used it to solicit us to book not via vrbo next time (without the protection) - again not something professional. We stayed at the house 3 families - military veterans, top tier software engineers, Harvard PhD's. We left the house SPOTLESS CLEAN and even added additional laundry powder because the place ran out! We asked for late check out, host wanted more money. We asked really nice and he said we can take 3 more hours which we ended up not using, and fully checked out on time with a house that is 100% spotless clean. One week after we left the host started contacting me on text messages again making a ridiculous claim about a "missing item". We left everything as is and took nothing. There were other guests in the house as well as cleaners, for some reason the host kept non stop texting me on a Sunday night and ended up blaming us for the missing piece WITH NO PROOF. I am disputing the claim on vrbo and will get my money back, but I will never ever stay again in this property or with this host who made me feel insecure and unsafe. One star and even that is too much!

Long Beach Vacation Rental

The location of this property is great, just a few steps from a beautiful beach and, overall, we had a great time. The property was also very clean upon our arrival. Both the main living floor and the upper level have large open areas and are very comfortable. The kitchen was also very well stocked for a rental. These two floors, however, really only have two private bedrooms and one of the bedrooms is right off the kitchen, not great for sleeping in. The upper level bedroom is huge and does have an additional small space with bunkbeds but there is no door in between for privacy. Two additional bedrooms are on the ground floor (basement) but this level does not have air conditioning which was not clear to me from the VRBO description of the property. Fans were available but prospective renters should be aware of the lack of air conditioning, esp. in the summer. The grill in the back yard was also basically unusable. The propane tank was empty upon our arrival and once we bought a new tank, the grates were in such poor condition that we never used it again. We also had an issue with the back door sticking. The first time this happened we could not get out of the rental unit so we called the manager. He replied promptly and told us to use more force with the door so he was definitely aware of the issue which should have been corrected. We loved the location but would not rent again.

Gloucester reunion

We enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is well equipped.and the living room and dining room are very nice We thought the plastic covering on the dining room table was a “bit much.” Also, the rental was not inexpensive. We do not think we should have had to buy the garbage bags. The house is designed for families. If all seven of us had shown up we would have had problems with bedrooms . The little bedroom off the master is good for children but not so good for older people. However, we all enjoyed our stay. The location is very good.

Wonderful family reunion

The house is beautiful in a wonderful location. It is an easy drive to Gloucester or Rockport and you can see Long Beach from the house. Pete was extremely easy to work with. We had people from 5 different states and no one had a complaint. One of the family members liked the mattress in her room so much that she went home and ordered the exact same model!

Gorgeous!

We celebrated our son's wedding on Cape Ann September 23, 2017. The location is just a short walk to the ocean for a lovely walk on the beach. The spacious house is beautiful inside with 3 bathrooms to accommodate us all on the big day! The groomsmen had lovely pix taken outside to the sound of waves crashing. Convenient location to everything. Thanks Pete!

Awesome home -- Awesome beach

Our large group that included 3 families had a great time at this home. The home was spacious and clean. Had everything to offer. The backyard and back porch area is quite comfortable and a great hangout for a backyard barbecue and happy hour !!!! Pete was great ---

All that was promised and more...

Our 3 generation family of 13 ranging in age from 3 months to 72 years and coming from Boston, Northampton, Reno and Dublin had an awesome week here. The beach was perfect for our six little ones all under the age of 7, as well as for the adults. The house was so comfortable and so well supplied, that we felt like we were home. Our mid week confusion about rubbish disposal brought Pete and Tracy over that evening, not only to take care of it, but also resulted in another basket of beach toys being discovered. We would totally recommend renting from Pete and Tracy and would do so again in a heartbeat if we were to vacation again in Gloucester. The Townsend/Fitzpatrick/Maheu Family.

Great & large house just steps from the beach

Fantastic set-up--very large house with 3 levels of living and a nice back yard and deck. We had a family reunion there, with sleeping accommodations for everyone. The house is beautifully furnished & decorated as well as very comfortable. Highly recommend. Pete was accommodating and always communicated promptly.

Wedding Week

I can not say enough about the home and the owner. Pete was so easy to work with and always responsive. The house, WOW! The proximity to the beach is incredible. We arrived on a Friday and everything was perfect. Our daughter was married in Gloucester on Saturday and then Sunday through Friday was pure relaxation. We had many family members stay with us from all over the country. It was the perfect place to spend time together, whether on the beach, in the backyard or just sitting around the kitchen/living room. We were able to grill out several nights on the gas grill for dinner and then walk to the local Ice Cream shop! If you have a large group, this is the house for you!

Fabulous place for family reunion!

Of all the places we have rented in the past this house had absolutely everything we needed and more! It was spotlessly clean with extra linens etc. There was more than enough room for the extended family spread out both indoors and outdoors. The 2 minute walk to a gorgeous beach was the clincher for me! We will be back next year!!

A Nautical Oasis

This property is an absolute gem located near Long Beach in Gloucester. We rented this property for a family gathering with family coming in from out of state. There were people renting the house who had left in the morning and when we arrived it was like nobody had been there. The property was absolutely spotless upon our entrance and the nautical decor found throughout the house is beautiful. Every room was equipped with clean sheets, pillows, etc. There were even extra blankets in each room in the house. The kitchen had every appliance we could ask for and even the small details such as coffee filters that we had forgotten! Any kitchen necessity you could think of, they had. It also had a grill for us to cook in and beach chairs to take down to the beach during the day! The property owner was available to us by phone or text throughout our stay. There is a binder set up for renters upon arrival to review the property rules which was very convenient. It helped explain to us how little details such as trash needed to be collected. We had a few questions the night before we were leaving and he was able to provide an immediate response. I would recommend this property to any large groups who are looking to stay under one roof. This house provided everything we needed to keep all of the family members, including kids, entertained throughout the long weekend. The surrounding Rockport and Gloucester areas are a treat for any visitor to visit. Tiny shops and restaurants dot the area as well as numerous beaches and activities.. This place has it all!
