The kitchen was very well stocked with cookware. Wifi worked well. Loved having 2 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. Plenty of room for larger group. The house was superficially clean but really needs a deep cleaning eg mold in the shower, cobwebs some lights.

Overall, fairly clean, but the furniture is worn out. There were several items broken or not working. They are small items but the attention to detail is what creates an outstanding property in my opinion.

Very old and dated. Mattresses were hard and uncomfortable. Carpets were very stained. No ocean view. We expected a lot more at this price point. Would have wanted money back if staying more than one night. Entire place needs a major remodel.

For the cost of this dump i want a total refund. Couch destroyed by an animal with an inch of dust layered on top Of the couch, we had to throw sheets over the couches because they were disgusting to sit on. Broken lamps, dirty floors, ants in the flour and sugar jar. I even had to go to the dollar store to buy BOWLS for one of our meals. Silverware/dishes wasn’t washed. Take this POS off vrbo, vacasa is a joke and I’m still battling for a refund. Photos listed on vrbo and vacasa do not represent what renter is paying for.

Excellent layout with everything you need, but farther from the beach than expected

We really enjoyed our 3-night stay. I think some things future renters will appreciate knowing include: it has no AC (that was maybe in the listing, and it was hotter than average while we were there, but after a day of hiking and then driving, it was an unwelcome surprise to us that it was 78 degrees in the home) and no screens in the windows, so you can't open them to appreciate the sea air instead; it's a dated home--needs a lot of updates--but it's still lovely (the beds are comfortable, the layout is smart--hello, 2 bathrooms!--they provide everything in the kitchen, the grass yard is nice); the patio furniture needs updating big time--the chairs were just broken; if you're renting seaside, you want to spend time outdoors, so that space needs attention. There aren't chairs to take to the beach, which was a bummer for people who flew into the state, so couldn't bring out own. Mostly, it is much farther from the beach than the pictures suggest. The bench that's shown (to me, as if it's right at the edge of the yard) is actually already about 200 yards from the house. You have to crest not one, but two hills before you make it to the beach. Once you're there, it's magical, but I was not anticipating that. I thought it would be easy to just pop out there and back, use the house bathroom, etc., but it was a tiresome trek each time. Overall, I would likely stay here again, but I would budget to go into town for fans, chairs, and house shoes for the rocky tiles.

Condo smelled musty when we first entered. Counters were grimy, furniture ripped and torn and held together by duct tape, T.V. screen covered with dust, furniture stained and dirty, lamp fixtures and decorations covered with grimy dust. The final straw was the hair clog in the shower. Online pictures did not match actual furnishing. We had to cover the furniture with sheets it was so gross. We had to go out and but a tablecloth for the table because there was grim between the glass top and frame. However, the property manager responded right away and came over next day to re-clean it. Kitchen layout was good. The location was amazing and almost worth the angst of the overall condition, Have determined we will not stay there again. There is a difference between shabby and gross. This was gross.

Great Location, but Cleanliness Issues

Overall, this spot is great if you’re just using it as a touch down for a beach weekend. The location is wonderful, and it’s a quick walk to the beach. However, we were surprised by the lack of cleanliness and the condition of the furniture. Most surfaces were dusty, the windows were clearly smudged with handprints, and there were hairs in the beds and on the towels. We also ended up having to throw out some of our food after the first night as it was overtaken by ants. (It wasn’t left wide open, just normal countertop snacks in the containers). The furniture is definitely worn and ripped up too. Overall, it was a still a good little spot for the location, but could easily be improved with better housekeeping and care.

Good location.

Loved being so close to the beach. Really missed having air conditioning (how I didn't catch that in listing I will never know). There should be screens on the windows and doors, since that is the only way to cool the house down! Ceiling fans would make it more comfortable as well. In lieu of replacing the ripped couch, Slipcovers or reupholstery would help, as would a board under cushions of the couch to help with sagging. The kitchen was definitely well equipped, a big plus!

Amazing oceanside condo with lots see

Fantastic location!!! Takes you 2 minutes to walk to the beach! Close driving distance to great towns like Seaside and Astoria! We recommend checking out the Indian costal trail abiut 20 minutes out, spectacular views, about 4 miles there and back. You should also check out the Cathedral trail and Column in Astoria where you can throw a wooden plane off a tower! We also recommend going to the Sandtrap bar thats another 2 minute walk from the property and Grandmas Corner for a good hearty breakfast! The Silver Salmon in Astoria had some of the best clam chowder and Salmon cakes we have ever had! There is even a herd of elk that pass through the dune ridge behind the condo occasionally!!!

Nightmare experience

Me and my friend arrived and the door was unlocked we pushed it open to a foul smell to start. There were cobwebs and bugs (dead and alive) everywhere. Smears on the walls. Broken ripped furniture. Mouse doppings!!! Unusable usted pots and pans for the dinner groceries we were hoping to make. Vacasa was horrible when we called they gave us the runaround, kept promising to bring new pots/oans and to schedule a cleaner but we felt unsafe and uncomfortable and wanted to leave. They did not bring the pots/pans promised. We were forced to stay the night, despite calling twice to demand a refund to relocate. They would not allow me to talk to upper management to get a refund. This is unacceptable and I will never be using Vacasa again. Steer clear!!!

Wonderful stay in Gearhart

Very good experience staying for the first time in Gearhart. The only real complaint was with the TV. We spent a lot of time trying get on cable. We never did get on cable. They need to leave instructions so we can suceed.

Close to beach, but needs improving

Overall we had a nice stay, but there are definitely items that could have improved the condo which will be listed below Pros: end unit, no buildings between you and the beach, very short walk to the beach. Beach is very clean and soft sand. Overall check -in was easy Cons: unit is very dated, sheets/bedding are rough, many strangers walk through the yard despite there being a public trail near by, despite cleaning services stating they vacuumed and cleaned we removed a large amount of spiders during our two day stay, difficult to get a hold of anyone even in the number provided, cleaning services were not complete at specified check in time, no beach friendly cups/plates/beach towels for guest use. Overall this unit has a lot of potential, it is run by Vacasa however so I am Unsure if anyone will make changes. For the price I will likely book at a different location next time

Great location but responsiveness for broken appliances lacked

The location of this property is amazing! Proximity to the beach fantastic and we loved the grassy area and short walk. The inside is dated and not the most “kid friendly” as there as sliding glass tables everywhere and slate flooring. However the biggest shortfall was the oven not working and lack of responsiveness from Vacasa (the property management company). We have two very picky eaters and snagged some pizzas and salads to cook at the beach house after a long day in the sun. However the oven never heated up and was broken. We tried every which way possible and even called in for support. Nothing got it working and after spending an hour trying to troubleshoot and 30min getting ahold of the management company to report, we had starving kids, no dinner and wasted food that we couldn’t cook. Management company stated someone would call that night from the area and they would get it fixed in the morning but we never had any calls or contact. We ended up having to drive out and pay for ANOTHER dinner out, late at night, with very hungry tired kids. Overall the location saves this review but the broken kitchen equipment was a huge bummer as we like to cook in and had to pay double for meals as we prepped with ability to use the oven.
