Great for families!

Beautiful property, great location. The backyard garden area was wonderful. We were not aware the upstairs living area was not directly connected to the bunk room the kids slept in, and would have been an issue with smaller children, but ours loved the freedom. Small issue with the guest bathroom shower, that im sure will be fixed quickly. Overall, a really cool place!

Comfortable bed.Beautiful view of the setting sun QuiteCleanGood support.Issue was lost hot water the last night, also had a leaking faucet that was addressed very quickly. Would rent again.

Great home overlooking the bay

Our family of 4 had a great time. We chose this home because it was on the bay. My 2 teenage boys love to fish so this was perfect. We caught a lot of small fish like catfish, trout, croaker, and pinfish with frozen shrimp. The pool table was fun

Great place

The home was larger than expected. One of the chairs had mold on it, but outside of that the place was was clean and comfortable. The communication with the managment company was great. We had a great time fishing, and entertaining the family on the downstairs patio and billiard room. Great family home, lots of room and peaceful. Location of the home is awesome, next to the channel, making fishing great. overall our stay was excellent and we would recommend this home to stay in.

Beautiful canal house

We were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome left by the owners/property mgr. Very classy and sweet touches were all over. It was better than other homes we have visited. We enjoyed it and will stays again God willing.

Family Vacation

Mosquito Heaven

When we weren’t worrying about the smell in the downstairs, leak in the window, missing blanket, and lousy toilet paper we were getting eaten alive by mosquitoes from the standing pool of water under the stairs. Won’t be staying here again. The location on the island is good but I would prefer a place better maintained & less stingy with blankets & towels.

Fishing right in the backyard!

It was all decorated so cute! Kitchen had everything we needed. Bait shops and grocery was close by. We caught catfish, blue crab and another type of fish we couldn’t identify. Nice quiet neighbors. The downstairs area was a little dirty but comfy beds and pool table was fun! Thanks for the quick responses and discounted extended stay!

Nice

The home was clean and just as described. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and had all we needed to prepare our meals. More importantly, we were able to bring our dogs which is a must for our annual vacations. We never used the lower level so not able to share those details but there would be plenty of room for a larger group to spread out and enjoy themselves. The management company were excellent to work with and very responsive. The location was a short drive to the beach and convenient to tie up a boat. We only had dinner out once at Waterman's (five minutes away) and enjoyed the food & experience. My mother and 10 year old nephew visited the area downtown known as "The Strand". They thoroughly enjoyed learning the history of the Galveston pirates along with the shopping and food options. Unfortunately for us, our plans came with unlucky timing (just two weeks after the 100 year ice storm). We had an issue with the neighbor to the right who yelled at us for tying up our boat on her fencepost (we assumed was a common fence shared by both homes). We were eventually able to calm them down resulting in a more friendly and cordial existence afterwards but it was a bit of a bummer to deal with during vacation. In their defense I think they were overwhelmed with pipe damage and took their frustrations out on us. Perhaps consider if slip not available for renters installing cleats for seawall tie up. The neighbors to the left (a young family with little kids and a swimming pool) were super friendly and nice. They provided us with places to visit and dine. My husband is a professional fisherman and had hoped to fish but the ice storm and cold front made fishing a lesson in futility. Literally no one was out in the bay fishing and conversations with locals indicated a major fish kill occurred prior to our arrival. We also had a negative experience with Galveston Boat Rentals. We rented a boat for our two week stay but they provided an unsafe and inoperable boat which we returned an hour after delivery. We've had to 'fight' them for a refund, have received a partial refund with a promise of the rest but we are still waiting. We did rent a nice boat from Finney Boat Rentals after our bad experience and we highly recommend them. The only suggestions I'd have would be to consider adding dressers (or shelves) to the two other bedrooms for clothing but definitely recommend the home for families or couples.

The views from the house are magnificent. The house was stocked well with kitchen “stuff” and was super clean when we arrived. We would definitely stay here again.
