Great Weekend

My kids and I were looking for a short getaway from the city. This property and the managers were great, the communication was first class and the convenience to the beach (2 min walk) and to other Galveston attractions made this ideal. Will definitely look at booking again!

Beach Trip

The house was spacious & the beds comfortable. The floors did need to be mopped as the bottom of your feet turned black when walking around house barefoot. A large cockroach or water bug was seen & killed in the kitchen. Yuck but understand how that can happen. Overall we had a good time & only real complaint was the dirty floors.

Our stay

We stayed at the property for a day after our kid and his friends had their prom, and we really enjoyed our time there. The house was great—comfortable, well-located, and within walking distance to the beach and plenty of dining options. Communication from the property management team was excellent, making the stay smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend!

Perfect getaway

This is our fourth time to stay here, sometimes just us and sometimes with additional family members, and we wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else. The home is inviting, very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is very well appointed for dining in or on the large, upstairs deck-plenty of seating for all in either space. I particularly love that bathrooms have enough towel racks and/or hooks for each person’s towel. The location is perfect-literally a very short walk to the beach and a beautiful, unobstructed view of the ocean from the upstairs deck. We love it here!

Perfect Beach Getaway!

The Paunchy Pelican is the perfect beach getaway for families or groups!The home is spacious, ultra clean, and the furnishings and decor are really comfortable, cozy, peaceful, and make you feel right at home while knowing you're away from it all.Our family loved that there were plenty of beds, the kitchen was well-appointed, there's plenty of beach gear available, and the check out process was super easy.Most importantly you are one block off the beach, you can see the water from house, and Jamaica Beach is far enough out of Galveston that you don't feel any kind of crowdedness - it is really peaceful. But you are still close enough to take easy advantage of restaurants, shopping, etc. in town.We loved our stay and know you will too!

Perfect home on the beach!

Our family of 8 enjoyed our stay here. Our teenager enjoyed his own room, our twin boys and 3 girls loved the bunk beds! Easy walk to the beach and we loved the balcony dining with a beach view!

Work trip gone right!

My virtual team picked this location to meet up in person and the location and space were everything we needed! Plenty of space to not feel on top of each other and far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Galveston to have relaxation!

Absolutely loved it!!!

Very impressed with how big the house actually is on the inside I think I fell in love with how much room there was in the kitchen!!! Fixed a dinner for our family that lives in Houston and spent the day at the beach lovely weather!! We will definitely be returning!!

Could use a deep clean

First the good. Large layout with plenty of comfortable beds and privacy for 2 families with kids. Close to the beach, seating for plenty & most furnishings were nice (others very dated).The not so good. The entire house had 1 TV, it was in the family area & it was broke with a line going through the screen at intervals. While the kitchen was well stocked, we found many dirty dishes put away in the cabinets. No scrub brush or dish soap in kitchen may be why so many dirty dishes were left? Mold in shower, a roach crawling in another shower, no bathroom toiletries, heavy wear on all the shower surfaces. Master bathroom had a blinking light fixture so you had to either be in the dark or deal with on/off flickering at night.Needs a thorough and deep clean. The AC was not working but a repair person showed up unannounced and it was alarming. I wanted to love the house and it had a ton of potential but just it felt neglected, especially for price.

relaxing place near the beach

10 out of 10! We all loved staying at this place It was second row to the beach and had great views of the beach which is what we wanted. The home was clean and they did provide towels and a fully stocked kitchen which was nice so we did not have to bring as much or buy extra stuff we did not really need. The host was super responsive and answered all of our questions on what was good to eat around here, lol. Thanks, we would stay again for sure!

Cozy and close to the beach

My family loved this home. We do not get to come to Galveston often, so finding a cute home so near the beach was a win! You never know what you are going to get, but this home was cute, clean, and made for a relaxing time away from the craziness of the East end of the island. We will be back! Thanks

Relaxing beach house

The house was in the best location. The ocean views were amazing. We enjoyed the close walk to the beach. We loved the quiet neighborhood. Such a peaceful stay! We will definitely stay here again!

Heaven found

There is nothing more relaxing than a cool breeze with the sound of seagulls in the distance. Everything was clean, in great shape and very enjoyable. This is a rental that we will keep on our list.

my family and I loved this house, it was second row to the beach and the area felt safe and inviting. we did not have any problems with the house during our stay and this might be our new favorite in Jamaica Beach area for a quick get away

This was a great home in a great location. A minute walk to the beach. Amazing ocean views. Good restaurants really close and the strand was only a 15 min drive. We had a great time. We loved our stay. We will definitely come back.

Relaxing family time right near the beach

So happy we found a house near the beach, so much better than a hotel! Loved being right near the beach. Porch was relaxing for us and kids loved the bunk beds. The outdoor shower was also nice so we didn't drag a bunch of sand in. We would definitely stay here again
