Stopped for the night in Death Valley. I have a friend who is a ranger here during the week, and lives in Boulder City on the weekends. It was beautiful, in an alien way, and so very, very hot.

Sometimes the moon works in your favor. Twenty mule team wagon at the Borax mines in Death Valley is lit by the light of the moon.
