    The Homestead, originally built in the 1880's and just one block off Main St., is a stunning luxury estate which has undergone a recent total renovation. Located in the Historic District, the Homestead consists of two homes (The Main House and The Carriage House) two cottage suites (The Stables 1 & 2) and is ideal for couples, large groups, family reunions, or a friend's retreat.



    The Space:

    The Homestead, originally built in the 1880's and just one block off Main St., is a stunning luxury estate which has undergone a recent total renovation. Located in the Historic District, the Homestead consists of two homes (The Main House and The Carriage House) two cottage suites (The Stables 1 & 2) and is ideal for couples, large groups, family reunions, or a friend's retreat.



    The two cottage Suites (The Stables 1 & 2) are situated privately in the rear of the property and were designed for that perfect romantic getaway. Each have tastefully unique equine inspired décor, seating area for two, a lush king size bed with chandelier above, a luxurious marble and granite bath and a kitchenette with under counter fridge/freezer, sink, coffee maker, and microwave. A private fenced front porch with seating for two provides cozy seclusion and privacy. The Stables each have designated off-street parking spaces just steps from the door.



    This prime location simply cannot be beat. Being within one block off Main St. means shops, wineries, and restaurants are all only a few minutes' walk out the front door!



    Guest Access:

    ✅ This property has special local compliance requirements which include a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and a security hold of $1000 (which is not a traditional security deposit, just a pending transaction). As an optional alternative to the security hold, you may opt in to purchase a non-refundable damage waiver provided by a third-party insurance company. The optional damage waiver is $53 for stays up to 10 nights, with an additional $1.5 per day for stays longer than 10 nights. Damage waiver purchases are optional.



    To make this process easy for you, we use a secure and very simple, app-free platform. It is not an app, and you do not have to sign up for an account - it’s a safe and secure website. It also gives you a guest portal with all the info about the home and all of my favorite local spots.

    Fredericksburg is a haven for wine enthusiasts, boasting more than 60 wineries, vineyards, and wine tasting rooms in Gillespie County alone. Visitors can indulge in wine tours offered by various companies, including full-day, half-day, and private tours, allowing them to explore the region's diverse wine offerings. For a more flexible and relaxed wine-tasting experience, the 290 Wine Shuttle provides a convenient way to hop between wineries, departing from downtown Fredericksburg and making stops at select wineries every 10 minutes on Fridays and Saturdays.



    Main Street serves as the heart of the action in Fredericksburg. With over 150 shops, boutiques, and art galleries, visitors can peruse a wide array of unique offerings. The street is also home to numerous restaurants, wine tasting rooms, a brewpub, and two museums, offering a diverse range of dining and cultural experiences. The lively atmosphere and variety of options make Main Street a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.



    The history of Fredericksburg dates back to its founding in 1846 by German settlers in the Texas Hill Country. Over the course of its 175-year history, the area has witnessed the presence of influential figures who have shaped world history.     1. Check-in instructions, house rules, and property addresses will be available via the Happy guest link.

    2. Not all homes have cable; consider setting up a streaming account in advance.

    3. Our team is committed to assisting you, though occasional check-in delays may occur during peak periods.

    4. WiFi is available in all homes, but uninterrupted service is not guaranteed. No refunds or rate adjustments will be made for mechanical failures, or discontinued or interrupted services that occur during your stay.

    5. A $500 fine will be imposed for any evidence of smoking, confetti, vomit residues, or glitter.

    6. Set the A/C no lower than 72 degrees to prevent freezing and system issues; no refunds for low-temperature-related A/C problems.

    7. We will provide a two-day supply of start-up sundries, including dish soap, sponge, paper towels, toilet paper, bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hand lotion. Guests will need to purchase additional items from a local store or bring them with them. Missing supplies must be reported to our Customer Hospitality team within one hour of arrival.

    8. Pets are allowed only in designated pet-friendly units, subject to an extra fee in addition to the nightly rate. Please verify whether pets are permitted in the unit you intend to rent. In the event that a pet is discovered in a non-pet-friendly unit, the guest grants Cozi authorization to levy a minimum additional cleaning fee of $500.

    9. Bugs are common in the Texas Hill Country; pest control is in place on a regular basis, but some insects are inevitable.

    10. In Texas, there are periods of time without significant rainfall causing the county to place a ban on burning. Please check the current burn ban status, before using the fire pit at your vacation rental. Check the amenities to see if this rental is equipped with a fire pit.

    11. Please observe Fredericksburg’s Quiet Hours (10 p.m. to 7 a.m.)

    12. The City of Fredericksburg is an international Dark Sky Community. To protect the dark skies, please turn off outdoor lighting when not in use.

    13. Only utilize the designated on-site and off-site parking spaces at your rental.

    14. For any issues during your stay, a 72-hour window after check-out is provided to file a claim. Note that refunds won't be issued for claims submitted after this period. We appreciate your cooperation.

Very clean and thoughtfully decorated. I think a couple of complimentary bottled waters might have been a nice touch, but overall we were impressed and will stay there again!
