Das Stone Haus | Perfect for Large Groups

  • LOCATION- 1 block north of Main Street and 3 blocks west of the center of downtown Fredericksburg
    HOST- No host on property. The house is located next to Das Vogel Haus, which is also a guesthouse and sleeps up to 8 people.
    SLEEPS- Up to 10 people in 4 bedrooms; two downstairs bedrooms each have a king bed, upstairs are a bedroom with two queen beds and a second bedroom with a king bed. Please be aware that you must walk through the queen bedroom in order to access the second bedroom upstairs.
    BATH- 2 bathrooms; the downstairs bathroom has a walk-in shower and jetted tub and the upstairs bathroom has a walk-in shower
    KITCHEN- Well-equipped kitchen with a Keurig but no dishwasher
    BREAKFAST- No breakfast but coffee and tea are provided
    AMENITIES- Smart TVs, WiFi, electric fireplace, front porch with seating, covered back patio with gas firepit and gas grill, off-street parking, walking distance to shops, tasting rooms, and restaurants including Hondo's and Crossroads.

    - Observe the City of Fredericksburg Quiet Hours (10pm to 7am in residential zones). No music of any kind after 10 pm.
    - The City of Fredericksburg is a Dark Sky Community with outdoor lighting restrictions. All outdoor lighting is encouraged to be turned off when no one is present to use the light.
    - Observe the designated on-site and off-site parking spaces.
    - Place all trash in designated containers.

    Perfect location

    We loved the proximity to shops and restaurants. The accommodations were perfect for our group, and the house was cute and cozy!

    Housekeeping needs to pay more attention to details. Food between couch cushions. Back door left unlocked. Dryer left running and was overloaded with large bedding. Was still running after we checked in. With the really overpriced cleaning fee the house should have been sparkling.

    Wonderful for a girls trip

    We enjoyed our stay. Loved how close the property was to town! Enjoyed hanging out in the nice bright kitchen. The beds were clean and comfy. Really warm and inviting .

    Great Stay for Girls’ Trip!

    This cute stone cottage was perfect for our group of four women. We each had our own room. The two living areas are very comfortable. The location of the home was close to downtown shopping and was on a safe street. I appreciated the quick response from the management when we had a special request.

    Perfect for your Fredericksburg getaway!

    This AMAZING stone house was perfect for our girls trip to Fredericksburg! The house is very cozy, yet has plenty of room for everyone to move around comfortably. The beds were super comfortable and the kitchen was well-stocked with the basics. The location is pretty great, too! Nice, clean neighborhood very near the downtown strip. It was too cold for us to walk in January, but you could if the weather allowed! Highly recommend this place- I would totally stay here again!

    This is a neat old house that is charming, however the maintenance is lacking. One of the bedroom door knobs was off, curtain rod is torn loose, bathroom sink is clogged and won't drain well, Jacuzzi tub is inoperable as debris comes out the faucet and the water never got hot, missing basic silverware in the kitchen, coffee pot is old and broken, creamer left was over 1.5 years out of date, and some of the sidewalk lights were loose and just laying in the yard. Could be a nice stay, but needs help.

    Great stay

    Great house and location a very short walk to Main Street and amenities, restaurants and entertainment. Only minor issues with hot water supply and the door handles on the inside of the downstairs back bedroom and bathroom come off and need attention/repair.

    Charming and Perfect

    We absolutely loved this cottage! It looks very small on the outside, but it quite roomy with plenty of space! There weren’t enough towels for all 9 of us, but we made due. No place to do laundry.

    The house was very well put together, it was beautiful inside and the outside sitting area in the back was great. We were able to grill one night as well. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. Both living rooms areas were very cute and there was plenty of room for everyone to sit around and enjoy each others company. The home is located close enough to downtown you could listen to live music sitting in the front yard. Would recommend this home!

    The house was nicely furnished and comfortable. However the heater didn't work and neither did the ice maker. Also the kitchen area was not particularly clean.

    Very nice, spacious home. I would have liked to know the history of the home. Also, might need a sign to let people know which way the downstairs shower door opens. The handrail leading up to the back door could use some sanding down. Got some splinters in a few hands. Does Fredericksburg have recycling? Overall, it was a wonderful stay. Clean, neat, spacious, close to downtown. Kitchen really nice.

    Birthday celebration

    The house was charming. Parking was plentiful. The things that really need to be addressed are the shower in the downstairs bathroom has NO water pressure. All the other faucets were fine. Also no way to lock this door if you are in there. The other thing is the house is advertised for 10 people but there was not enough silverware for 10 people. We didn’t realize there was no dishwasher whe we booked but that was not a deal breaker. Loved the little back porch with the fire pit. My niece also found a very large roach in the upstairs shower which really scared her. We were only there for 2 nights so I didn’t contact the manager about them but if you aren’t aware you can’t address them which is why I am letting you know here.

    The Stone Hauz is a beautiful place and the location is very good. There were some issues. We were unable to bathe our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter due to black flecks coming out of the tub faucet even after three attempts to clear it. The front bedroom curtain and rod were pulled partially down and we had to fix it. The curtains on two upstairs bedrooms were merely decorative and blocked no light. We had one dish towel, five forks, and three spoons. The gas grill was dirty and I spent two hours cleaning it to use it. There was no lighter for the grill, no grill brush, or cleaner. Those were brought when I asked, however I had to wait for them. There were mouse droppings in the cupboard with the pots and pans. There were party streamers and dirt behind the coach.The electrical would short out the lamp in the rear sitting room when a cell phone was plugged in. The owner had to come replace a light fixture while we were there. The rug at the back door was so worn and curled it was a trip hazard and had to be moved out of the way. There was broken glass in the grass around the deck that we had to clean up.

    Great location, but needs improvement

    First off the location of this property was wonderful. You can walk downtown. It was as advertised. Unfortunately for the price of the house it needs some repairs. We arrived at the home with the key box open and key missing. They were very responsive in bringing the key back. Unfortunately the door knob fell off the bathroom door and numerous rooms doors did not open from the inside. The bathroom shower was clogged and we lost hot water. We did call the managing company who sent a plumber. The plumber stated a filter needs to be put on the house to help sediment not get trapped. There were squished bugs on the upstairs bathroom ceiling and the upstairs bathroom floor mat was dirty upon arrival. Lastly for a house that can accommodate 10 people it is important to have a dishwasher. I would not return to this home. My family and my sisters family ended up leaving a day early even though I had run a 1/2 marathon that morning. It didn’t feel clean and needed many repairs. We were at the house less than 24 hours and the majority of the time had issues.

    Needs a few repairs

    No ice in refrigerator freezer. 2 lamps in front bedroom didn’t work. Hinge needs repaired on trash cabinet door. Back door knob fell off several times, should really be fixed. Fan in upstairs king bedroom has a broken frame. Beautiful home.

    There is no central heating or AC across the unit, so many rooms were very cold.; also no dishwasher

    The house was okay. Good location, but the lack of an updated house made the stay difficult (no central heat throughout, no dishwasher).
