We really enjoyed the space. I made an error and thought I had rented a place with a golf cart and I didnt. My fault, but we were disappointed. I had my very large (6’8”) sons and the space was great. We rented 2 separate VRBOs for our 10 day vacation. This one was bare bones. We flew in and were there for 3 days and there were no coffee filters. No instructions on how to get to the community pool. Literally if u are staying for 2 days or 10 you are going to have to go to the store and buy everything. In contrast our second rental for a week had everything we needed. Dishwasher detergent, coffee filters, garbage bags. We felt more valued as customers at our 2nd spot, This space and location were wonderful and the neighborhood is nice. Just be sure to bring extra toilet paper, dish detergent, paper towel, laundry soap, coffee filters…

The house was perfect for our needs as far as space and comfort. The floors need a thorough cleaning. We are a family that removes their shoes at the front door. After a few hours inside all of our feet or socks were really dirty. We realized on our first day, there weren't going to be enough coffee cups for all of us, so I called and requested more and was told someone would bring some to us. That was Saturday, the first day we arrived. After two additional calls about the cups, they arrived on Tuesday.We loved the roominess of the house and the bedrooms were great for our needs. The kitchen sink faucet needs to be replaced as soon as you can get to it. It is not secure and could cause issues for a future tenant. We love the grill and cozy backyard. Very convenient location for short walks to the beach and shopping. The pool was excellent. All in all, it was a pleasant stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Our Happy Place! The communication was fantastic and the house was exactly as the pictures and descriptions listed. The house fit our family's needs and there was more than enough space for the 11 of us to move around and not crowded at all. We all said we hoped to get to stay again! Wonderful family vacation for us!

Ultimate Beach Vacation

We had to change our plans to stay near Tampa because of the hurricanes, and the Destin/Miramar Beach area was highly recommended. We had never been there before, but after reading the Happy Place description and reviews and looking at the pictures, we decided to try it. We were not disappointed. The house was in a perfect location for us to walk to and from the beach every day. The sunsets, sunrises and daytime experiences on the beach were phenomenal! The house is beautiful and equipped as described. We also enjoyed being in between Seaside and Destin and drove to these locations and along 30A often. Shopping was easy to access for groceries and beach supplies. The house accommodated our family perfectly! Everyone said it would be a place we would like to visit again. Thank you for helping us to have the ultimate beach vacation!

Great location!

Great location! The private beach access was great! We rented a golf cart for easy access to get around. I wish I would have understood what was included in the starter pack so I could have been better prepared. There were no hot pads in the kitchen which was inconvenient when cooking. The propane tank on the grill was less than half full, the igniter didn’t work had to manually light it, and the knobs were falling off. Other than that, it was a great location and would stay here again!

Spacious & comfortable house

We were impressed with how spacious & clean the home was. As we opened the front door we were greeted with soft jazz music which was a nice touch. Loved that this home came with two Master Suites. There were plenty of kitchen utensils & amenities provided. The beds were very comfortable. Would have been nice if all the rooms had room darkening curtains. It was nice to have a private beach entrance across the street about a 3-5 mts walk. My family enjoyed the restaurants and Destin’s beautiful beaches. Would definitely stay at My Happy Place again.

Beautiful and Spacious!

My first impression of the home was that there is so much room! Every room was easy to move around in, even the bathrooms and closets. It smelled like new. It was the perfect size for our party of 8. Conveniently located near a coffee shop, restaurant, and surf shop.I wish the street the house was on had sidewalks. The area is busy, so we had to step into yards and driveways when there was traffic until we could get to the main road. I suggest bringing extra soap and toilet paper.

Exceeded all expectations

The property was beautiful, clean, and fully equipped to accommodate the 5 couples in our group for our weekend stay. The property is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood and provides easy access to all local shopping and dining destinations and private beach access was just a short walk away. The check-in/out process was incredibly easy and we felt like all of our needs were met for the duration of our stay. 10/10 recommend!

Great home, location if you want Miramar~ but no comp from Real Joy, for Non working Dryer all week

Love the home, disappointed that homeowner only refunded $200 for no dryer ( meaning no washer usable without dryer !) We waited around all week for promised technician for dryer fix... no one came, all week. We missed much of our vacation... Real Joy doesn't make much from rental evidentally ~ so they refunded nothing 😳 Their help staff was great, management said, " Sorry! Homeowner only refunding $200".

How is large and beautiful

The house was very nice. The hardwood floors which are throughout the entire home were dirty. The bottom of our feet were black from walking on them barefoot. The lighting in the bathrooms is very poor and not conducive to applying makeup. There was what appeared to be mud splattered on the wall in the dining room. I washed it and it did clean up. There was something blue and very sticky on the floor at the top of the stair landing that I also had to wash up. The dryer does not work well. It took forever to dry clothes and towels. I disagree with not supplying beach towels as that’s just something that renters should not have to pack or purchase. I also disagree with the very limited supply of cheap toilet paper! I also feel that you should supply dishwashing detergent (more than 2) when a person rents for more than two days. It’s crazy that we had to buy and leave a full pack of detergent so that we could do dishes more than twice. For the money, these things should be provided.

Great place to stay

We stayed in Our Happy Place for the month of February and had a great time visiting with family and friends. The house was beautiful and in a great location. We could walk to the beach easily and close to several restaurants. We would definitely reccomend this house to stay.

A Short Walk to Beach & Pool

Every year my family and I rent a house in different locations, and this year we chose Destin. I'm not sure what the maids did to clean- my bed wasn't made and there were crumbs on the carpets. The kitchen was lacking utensils, we didn't even have a pan. The barbeque was filthy with grease- we tried starting it and it lit on fire! Issues are resolved when you call, so people came to clean it and bring pans. The microwave doesn't work so there's a second microwave on the counter. There were a lot of homes that had golf carts but this one didn't, so the walk to the beach was okay, but it would've been convenient to have. The pool was nice too, but again a little walk. There were a lot of house rules, you can't turn the thermostat under 70. But there were no fans provided either. Ironing boards but no irons. Besides that, the rooms were good sizes, the setup was nearly perfect for the family- every bedroom basically had its own bathroom. Photos don't do it justice, the ceilings are high and everything feels spacious. If asked to stay here again, I may personally pass but find another rental in the neighborhood because it was nice!

Lovely property, felt like home!

Very nice property! Our family thoroughly enjoyed! Our only had a couple of issues. The freezer went out and we weren't aware of it until after grocery shopping. We a few items that melted/ ruined. We also love to cook breakfast a few nights while vacationing! Definitely need to bring pots, and pans/ sheet pans! Otherwise it was well equipped and location was perfect!

Great Vacation Home

Property was spacious and clean. Furniture and TV were nice. Very limited on baking and cooking tools and pans. For example, there was no cookie sheet. There was something in the description that gave the impression we were within a fairly easy walk to the beach. But, Miami St. gate was not open to us and we needed to walk another block down to Hollywood St. Long walk just getting to Scenic Drive. The bunk bed room sleeping was difficult for larger adult children. Might be fine for little kids, but quite uncomfortable otherwise. We enjoyed our stay but wanted to provide valuable feedback. Thanks.
