Unfortunately, when we arrived at the house, the house had not been cleaned at all. Mistakes happen, and we notified the property manager, however the first suggestion was that we needed to leave the house for a period of time so that the cleaners could come. We refused to do so, because we had plans and needed to shower. The cleaners came and were very nice and apologetic (it was not their fault). However, initially we were only offered a refund of the cleaning fee. I did not find that to be sufficient, considering ten of us were having to shower around cleaners and bathrooms had not been cleaned and the house was technically not all ours at 4 pm (the time it was supposed to be ours). The property manager brought us a bottle of champagne, and was apologetic, which was appreciated. After asking, the owners of the property approved a full refund of our initial night, which I feel should have been offered in the first place. However, it did take almost a full month and three separate emails to the property manager to get my money refunded to me. The whole experience was very frustrating. Once cleaned, the house was nice and as described. We had a poor experience, but hopefully this was a one off accident.
