Great Fall Family Trip
This is a great cabin with all the comforts you would need. Kitchen is well stocked and worked great for cooking for a large group. Mary was very helpful with answering any questions we had.

This house was excellent. It was clean, well equipped and had everything we needed. The house is located at a very high altitude, so it may take a day or two to get used to.

Great family experience!
We had a great time at the Red Dog cabin. We were a fairly last minute booking and feel super lucky to find this cabin. Mary is awesome and made sure our stay was perfect. The cabin was great and had everything we needed but she also has a ton of information about the surrounding area. Based on her info we went white water rafting in Bueno Vista, Hiked a near by trail, checked out Breckinridge, and had some tasty sandwiches in Fairplay. We also enjoyed s’mores around the fire pit and got to see a moose right out front. My teenagers loved playing darts and cards. Overall an excellent vacation that we will always remember.

Family meet up
Booked this so family from across the west could spend the 4th together. The house was great! Plenty of towels, trash bags, and all the little things which doesn’t always happen with rentals.

Perfect weekend in a beautiful locaiton.
This was an incredible home in the magnificent mountains near Fairplay. I chose the location due to it being close to Mount Lincoln and several other 14er peaks - in addition to Dillon, Breckenridge and Frisco. The home itself was absolutely beautiful with plenty of places for everyone to sleep eat and play. The night sky was crystal clear and we make good use of binoculars. The host Mary was easy to contact and very responsive to our questions. It would have been wonderful to spend more time there.

Beautiful Escape from the Heat
Our family had a wonderful time at the Red Dog Cabin! The bumpy ride to the top of the mountain was worth it. We enjoyed the many hikes available in the area and the easy access to Breckenridge. We were so thankful to escape the Texas heat and enjoyed our time on the mountain!

Wonderful Mountain Escape
My family had a wonderful time staying in this comfortable, secluded cabin. Mary was a great host; she was easy to communicate with and always made sure we had all the information we needed. We loved waking up in the mornings and sipping our coffee on the deck while listening to the birds. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed to feel at home. The area is absolutely gorgeous and we loved exploring all the various hiking trails nearby. The cabin is at a high altitude so make sure to heed the advice of drinking plenty of water and taking it easy at first if arriving from sea level like we did. We highly recommend the cabin as a lovely place to stay.

Family trip
The host Mary was very helpful and quick to reply. We went at the beginning of May. It did snow a couple of the days we were there but the place provided sleds and other things to do outside. The views were amazing at night clear sky's and bright stars you normally don't see in town or at lower elevations. Very spacious lots of room for all the kids The only downfall was the steep driveway but it is a house on a mountain top so not much can be done. And in the snow and mud I was still able to get up with a none 4x4(fwd Ford v6 suv if it matters). The loft master bedroom has no curtains on the window above the bed and open on the other end so very bright in the mornings and not much privacy with the open stairs to the main area of house. The jets in the jetted tub were out of order. And the bedroom in the garage was only heated by space heaters which were fine for the teenagers and dog.

Spring Break
We had a great time at Red Dog Cabin. The spring snow made the location even more beautiful. The cabin had everything we need. We enjoyed sledding down the driveway. Mary was a great host, making sure everything was just as described.

Perfect Mountain Get-Away
I first want to start by saying that Mary is a wonderful host and her communication is second to none. She was incredibly kind and accommodating and truly went above and beyond. We went during the first week of November and the cabin is gorgeous. It’s extremely spacious with enough rooms and bathrooms to never feel like you are cramped even when you have lots of people and dogs there. The kitchen is fully stocked and well prepared for you to cook and use. The house is located at 11,000 feet which could take a few days of getting used to. We bought a few humidifiers from the local store to help us. You are far enough away from neighbors and surrounded by tall trees where you feel nice and secluded. While we were there, we did get quite a bit of snow which was a lot of fun for sledding down the driveway and making snowmen. The downside is that it was incredibly difficult to drive up and down the mountain and up the drive way even with all wheel drive. We received the first major snow of the season so the plow hadn’t come through yet. However, I’m sure when it is plowed, you likely won’t have any problems. The internet is phenomenal. We were very concerned about this because we had 5 adults all working remotely and taking video calls and what not. We had no problems whatsoever. I ran a speed test on the wifi and got around 150mbps. There is great hiking to do just a short walk from the cabin. We really enjoyed taking in the views and breathing the fresh air. Overall this is one of the best rentals I’ve stayed in. Highly recommend if you are looking to escape the busy city, but still need to stay connected via internet. Also Breckinridge is a short 40 min drive that is very easy

Great lodge high up in the mountains. Normally get something much more like a cabin, thus was luxurious compared to other places I've stayed.

Great place to getaway for a few days
We enjoyed our time here, hiked both days from the house and had an enjoyable time with friends in the evening. We have an infant and were in the loft but it was ok noise wise for our friends sleeping below us. The master in the loft was odd, maybe we missed that in the description, but overall everything was great and we could spread out for a comfortable stay. The owners were very communicative and it helped our stay be a relaxing one.

This is a great place, great experience
My family really enjoyed this cabin rental. It is relatively secluded and gives a real 'in the mountains' feel. The cabin is stocked or equipped much better than other vrbos we have stayed at and the owner is very responsive and friendly. We enjoyed the nearby hike up Mt Pennsylvania, the gaming room downstairs, and the forest visitors, such as foxes and squirrels. The drive was not difficult in the summer. I highly recommend this rental.

Awesome Hiking Nearby
Really enjoyed nearby hiking at Pika Trail, Pennsylvania Mtn Southeast Ridge. Amazing views of 14K mountains. Also recommend Hoosier Ridge. Our grandchildren enjoyed playing in the woods and the outdoor fireplace. Home was well stocked with additional linens, paper towels, etc. Great internet connection allowed us to follow the Tokyo Olympics.

Everything is as it states….
Comfy beds, spacious well stocked kitchen, hiking close by, and easy travel to Breck. Owner responsive. Home had plenty of supplies. We didn’t have kiddos but there was a ton for kiddos to do.

Red Dog Cabin is beautiful
We had a wonderful family get together at Red Dog Cabin. Mary our host was very attentive and easy to communicate with. The check in / check out instructions were easy to follow and quickly completed. We are planning to come back next year.

Spring break fun!
We have been visiting Colorado for the past 4 years. This we we stayed at the Red Dog Cabin and loved the home. The home was clean and spacious enough to accommodate our family. Cell and internet is spotty in the area, which is great of you're getting away to a cabin as we were. In all, I strongly recommend this place.

What an amazing experience

Perfect mountain getaway.
We absolutely loved this place.... One of the most pleasant memories we experienced during our stay was the grey jays! My husband would whistle and they‘d come in a pair, pitch right on our hands and thank us for the piece of bread we had offered them. Perfect family Retreat
This is a great place for a larger group, and has something for everyone! Mary even makes the furry family feel at home! The place was clean, beautiful inside and out, and it was fully stocked-just bring food and go. The trail head at the top of the mountain was so convenient and the view is worth the walk. Some of our highlights were grilling on the deck, roasting marshmallows at the fire pit, watching movies on the big comfy couch, the kids Ninja line, and seeing a moose and her baby. Highly recommend this place, and Mary is great! Don’t hesitate to reach out to her, she will help make your stay perfect!

Beautiful Cabin in the Woods
We have spent a week in Mary's cabin. The cabin is beautiful with all the necessities you need, even more. The location was perfect for us, secluded but close to several hiking trails. Sleeping in the master bedroom you woke up with the sun among pine trees. The beds are comfortable and we had plenty of space for everyone. The cabin was very clean, if you have any concerns about the current virus situation. I recommend having a 4WD vehicle to get to the cabin and visit the Fairplay area hiking trails, which are beautiful. We had a minivan, we were still able to make it. We had a great time, highly recommend this place for nature lovers.

Lovely time in a beautiful setting.
We enjoyed our stay at Red Dog Cabin so much. It is a beautiful setting, and so thoughtfully supplied. One suggestion is that if the zip line cannot be used due to liability insurance, it may be best to take it down. The kids were very disappointed not to be able to use it.
