Short Drive, Big Relaxation

This property was an excellent stay. Furnishings were upscale and cozy. Was like home, but in a cabin. Sunroom overview of the Juniata River yielded great wildlife viewing of Bald Eagle, Osprey, Turkey, Piliated Woodpecker, and other fauna. Host was very gracious and responsive. Would recommend for a Autumn stay for sure.

Camp Shoop Stay

We had a wonderful time at Camp Shoop. The home is beautiful, spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The home sits on a private drive on the river and it is an amazingly serene and relaxing location. We loved it!

Outstanding property. Even better than listed. Hosts were more than accommodating. Property truly has everything you need or could think of. River levels made river sitting absolutely peaceful and made for great stay. Highly recommended - will definitely stay again.

Great getaway

This was the perfect place to get away from it all but not so far as you can’t get to restaurants and shopping if you like. Downtown Bedford has a bunch of cute boutiques and fabulous restaurants. Golden Eagle was unique and delicious; while Magpie’s had unique clothing/jewelery items at affordable prices. Highly recommend!

Stunning home!

This is our 2nd stay at Camp Shoop. We absolutely love this home and grounds. Our pups love to run free and dip their toes in the river. The home is absolutely beautiful and has everything that you could need. Sandy is exceptional with communicating and very responsive. We love is so much we booked next year before we departed today!

Beautiful Place!

What a wonderful place to enjoy! We can’t say enough about this home! Equipped with everything you could want. We had a family vacation here and kayaking on the river. We made wonderful memories and relaxed in this peaceful retreat! Just enough out of the way to forget the hustle and bustle of life and enjoy the outdoors and filled with every modern convenience. What a special place and very comfortable! The only thing wrong was we didn’t stay long enough! We will be back again!!!

Beautiful House

The house was comfortable and well stocked with everything you might need. The house was exceptionally clean. We were lucky to have great weather at the end of March to sit by the river on the porch. When the weather didn't cooperate, the sunroom was comfortable had a great view of the river. Sandy was readily available to answer any questions or concerns.

President's day weekend

Sandy was great to communicate with, she even allowed us an early check-in and a late check out. The house was perfect for our group, with plenty of space for everyone. We cooked multiple meals in the kitchen and had evey tool we needed. Check out was a breeze and things we would have done anyway.

The most amazing place for a wonderful get-away. From the moment you drive up to the property, you can “feel” how special it is. From the perfect outdoor swing to the wonderful deck and view of the water to the marvelous interior. The rooms are beautiful and big and so welcoming, the owners take pride in their home as it shows through in every way. They are also very responsive and helpful in all ways. The entire home is beautiful and should be in a magazine. The property is so well taken care and well stocked. The peace and tranquility of the lake and the comfort of the home are truly spectacular and make you feel like you are home. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable time at your beautiful home. Perfect Getaway!

Camp Shoop is incredible. The decor is beautiful and unique, and the house is immaculate! Clean and well-provisioned, this home exceeded our expectations. We loved spending time on the swing by the river and wading in the shallow waters. This was our second stay at this property, we enjoyed our time there. The house is amazing , owners make check in and check out easy. Staying at this house feels like home. We were able to enjoy the river and got warm by the fire at night. Highly recommend for a laid back stay.

River House

We rented the cabin for an end of summer with our boys (6 & 10) and their grandparents. House was impeccable, well appointed, and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with just about any equipment your could want. Definitely felt “cabin” like on the inside. There are neighbors on either side of the house, BUT the area is very secluded, and there are virtually no cars coming down the road. Neighbors are very friendly and welcoming. So, great for kids and pets. Check in was easy and the owners were very communicative. We spent our days floating in the river and evenings by the campfire. Great place for active couples and families. Getting down to the river level might be a little challenging for elderly folks, but there is a nice sitting bench on the bank that overlooks the river area. All around great trip and turnkey property for a river hang out vacation. Bring water shoes!

Wonderful getaway

Our family vacation at Camp Shoop was just perfect. The house was amazing and Sandy was so helpful. Her attention to detail and organization made it so easy to relax and enjoy river sitting, kayaking, and campfire cooking. We are already planning our next trip to Camp Shoop.
