Great place to stay

The apartment was clean and we had all the things we needed for a long weekend to go to the NY Sheepand Wool show in Rhinebeck. Very close to trails and we had nice restaurants nearby in Tannersville. Would be great for a ski weekend at Hunter.

Hunter mountain

Ideal Place to Stay

I was looking for a 2 bedroom place to stay for a long weekend vacation for myself, my daughter and her two small children. This home exceeded our expectations. The drive up the mountain might be a bit scary, but the views along the way make it worth it. I arrived a day before my daughter, and discovered the table in the kitchen was the perfect area to use to complete some of my grad school assignments. We made trips to the Duchess County Fairgrounds, Tivoli, and Saugerties. We were hoping for a nice hike, but the weather didn't cooperate. We would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous hosts, great apt.

My autistic son and I were going to my daughter's wedding and needed a place away from the wedding activity. Donna& Derek's place was perfect. Just like home. Fully stocked with all the necessities, spotless and such a beautiful space. Hunter greeted us as we were checking in to be sure we didn't need anything and Derek stopped by the next day to say hi, with a present of the best eggs ever! Town is close for coffee or a meal and skiing is less than 15 minutes away. Thank you guys for a great stay on a special weekend.

Happiness Resides Here

We were greeted by the friendly hosts and made to feel at home right away. They were very attentive to all our needs. Our son joined us from NYC and our yellow Lab came along as well. The rooms were well decorated and neat and clean. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the utensils and pots and pans a cook needs--even an air fryer. Donna baked a delicious apple crisp for us, and delivered fresh eggs. Amazing hospitality! We all enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend D and D's Place. Happiness resides here!

family friendly

Quiet, clean property which was a good size for 2 adults and 2 small kids (age 2.5 and 8 months). Hosts were very generous- a great experience! Definitely would recommend!

Amazing hosts!

The house was very clean and as described, the yard is very big with woods to explore, which was perfect for our dog. It’s only a 10 min drive to Hunter mountain so was perfect for our ski trip! Hosts Dona and Derek were extremely friendly, brought us eggs, pies, cookies, chocolates, you name it! Thank you, we’ll be back!

Wonderful trip

We had a great stay on the property. Mere minutes from Hunter Mountain, it was perfect for our ski trip. D & D were excellent hosts, providing not only fresh eggs, but Christmas cookies and presents for the kids (it was our daughter's birthday). The children and the dog all enjoyed the property. We're all eager to return.

Excellent location, all conveniences of home

Derek and Donna were very friendly and welcoming. (& generously offered us fresh eggs and tomatoes). Apartment was as advertised, clean and comfortable.

Derek’s Cozy Abode

Great home away from home in the Catskills Mountains. Derek was super friendly and welcoming as were his 2 dogs. He occasionally stopped by to say hello to see how the group was doing. Last but certainly not least, a thank you for the complimentary 4 dozen eggs. We highly recommend and encourage you to take advantage of stargazing at night.

Perfect stay for a long weekend in the Catskills

This stay was great for our need - we were looking for a place near Woodstock that was affordable. The hosts were friendly, and even gave us a cake because we were celebrating a birthday! We brought our family dog and she got along with the other dogs on the property (there were 3). The house is separate from the main house, and there is a gravel driveway to park on. Due to certain road closures, we were about 30 min away from Woodstock, but we were very close to more hiking nearby. The photos were accurate and the hosts were very accomodating!

Loved this place!

We were looking for a quiet, secluded place for a mountain getaway. Our stay couldn’t have been more pleasant. Derek and Donna were very friendly and personable. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and well supplied. Looking forward to our next visit.

Cozy get-away right by hiking trails

What a fantastic stay! The place was really cozy and had everything we needed for our 1.5 week get-away, including a well-stocked kitchen that even had an air fryer. The location can't be beat -- there were some hiking trails literally out of our backyard, and every other hike we went on was only a 5 - 20 min drive away. Hunter Mountain is also right there for skiing. Derek was a PHENOMENAL host who was incredibly caring and always willing to help, including jump-starting our car battery. What a wonderful trip!

Everything you need for Catskill Getaway

Clean, warm, well-stocked for winter fun in the Catskills. Elka Park is close to Hunter skiing, Kaaterskill Falls for hiking, North South Lake for snowshoeing. Plus after a full day outdoors, nearby Tannsersville has restaurants to choose from or just go to Tops Grocery and pick up a few items for the kitchen at D+Ds place

A very nice place to stay. In a very nice area of New York.

I wish I had more time to talk to Donna and Derek. I enjoyed talking with them very much. The ranch house we stayed in was spotless. It had everything thing inside would need to enjoy your stay. And plenty of things to see and do close by.

Great vacation place
