"We had a last minute change of plans and I needed to find suitable accommodation for my family of 4. I came across the 'Garden House' in my initial search and compared 5 other similar solutions. None measured up and that was only based on the images. The pictures undersold the property, utterly. The Garden House became a serendipitous highlight of our trip to Edinburgh. The location, setting, layout, preparation, standards, provisions were are excellent. The setting within Oxenford Castle...

"An excellent property to rent outside of Edinburgh. Perfect for dogs and families. The cottage was warm and well lit when we arrived and the fireplace was already prepped with a basket full of logs. The manager of the property was very friendly and she came over to introduce herself and check we had everything we needed. Strongly recommend and will be going back."

"Very clean. Lovely cottage. However if you are elderly or unsteady on your feet it may not be suitable as bedrooms are upstairs and toilet facilities are downstairs "

"The property is a lot bigger than the photos portray. Very spacious. There were also two single beds as well as a double in the area upstairs. Very tranquil surroundings. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"We recently stayed at May Cottage and it was just what we needed. The cottage is lovely and much bigger than we anticipated, especially the bedrooms - they’re a really big! Kitchen has everything you need and even though we had taken hand wash and washing up liquid etc, it was all provided. Even dishwasher tablets! The views from the garden are exceptional and it was very quiet. We loved sitting watching the families of swallows flying in and out of their nests and listening their babies...

"A beautiful property that was perfect for our needs. There were five adults and four children in our group and it catered, and was accessible, for all. Supermarkets are close, the views are fantastic, and the house itself was clean and tidy. We had to switch the timer off on the heating as it was very cold with it on but the house warmed up very quickly and it was really warm after a while. We would absolutely stay again and recommend it to anyone."

"I stayed here for 3 nights with my parents who are in their eighties. Everything is on one level so it was perfect for them. I was able to park close by which was a bonus as they have a wheelchair. It’s a beautiful place to stay if like us you just want to be able to have a holiday which is accessible. Lindisfarne is a stunning island to visit and although we didn’t go off road they thoroughly enjoyed their short break here. If you’re a walker you couldn’t pick a more perfect base."

"Fantastic property with everything you'd need, or thought you didn't need.... great hosts who were eager to make sure we'd settled in and had everything we needed or any help with suggestions for sight seeing (although great information book supplied). We were new to the area but found the location perfect as a base for exploring near and far. over a few days..plenty to do on your doorstep with shops and eateries with-in Melrose if you don't fancy cooking. "This amazing house was ideal for 6 adults, a toddler and a dog. There was plenty of room for all of us and having the extra living room with TV meant we weren’t under each other’s feet all the time. The house is well equipped and had everything we needed. It’s a great place for exploring Bamburgh, Seahouses, Holy Island and further afield. We went to Berwick on Tweed and had a great, value for money, lunch at Limoncello, 3 course lunch for £6.95 would definitely recommend. The coffee shop next...

"It was difficult to find the first time. Probably more my GPS fault than anything. Once arrived, I had to walk around the area to find my lodgings. GPS said "you have arrived" well, that wasn't good enough. I walked around till I found it. I slept in the twin bunk room. The bottom bunk bed was very uncomfortable. Mom slept in the queen bed and said it was very comfortable. Bring your own toiletries as they are sparsly provided. The shower floor has no slippage protection. I did mention this to...
