"Great stay, excellent food.!"

"We arrived early aprox 9AM and the place was closed. It said that was open 24 hrs a day, but we waited until 11AM and nobody showed. At 11AM was check-out time, but still there was no one to be seen. One person was cleaning the bar, and we knocked on the window but did not answer. We had to go and get a room somewhere else. I would not recommend this place. It is not a true hotel or B&B. We stopped in the afternoon telling them of our cancellation and asking for our money back, but they said...

"The bathroom was small and dirty with mould growing up the pipes behind the wc. The w.c. was filthy in the bowl. The stairs leading to the room - the Stour Room - were dusty with bitts all over The property looks lovely outside but i would not recommend it to anyone and i think you should visit this inn urgently. "We had a great time at Rectory Manor, a lovely old georgian country house set in mature garden of trees and lawn with a swimming pool and tennis court if you want some exercise. Our room (the Hudson) was furnished in the country house style and was supremely comfortable. The only downside was the bathroom was a bit small and slightly dated. The bath was too small to properly soak. On the plus side we had an unexpected balcony that caught the morning sun whilst giving beautiful country views...

"The property was tastefully furnished which reflected its historical past. There was a spacious sitting room for use by guests and a kitchen equipped for the heating and simple cooking of meals. The tasty breakfasts were cooked to order with locally sourced ingredients. There was a small but pleasant garden with suitable seating areas. The staff were always welcoming, helpful and friendly. It was an easy 12 minute walk into the cathedral area and town. We had a very comfortable stay although...
