Great stay overall. The cabin was clean, spacious, and exactly as described. The hot tub was hot and relaxing, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook comfortably. The amenities like the pool and tennis weren’t open for the season during our stay, but everything else made up for it. The host was responsive and easy to work with.

The hot tub never worked during our stay. And the hot tub was the whole point. My daughters had just completed 5 days on the Appalachian Trail, and I promised them a nice recovery stay. We didn’t get that, and I’m upset that I paid so much. I checked the tub as soon as I showed up. It wasn’t working. I looked for the advertised guest binder. We couldn’t find it because it was hidden in a random drawer. The hot tub directions in the guest guide book are for a totally different hot tub. So I reached out to the host. The host said the cleaner found the breaker was tripped and for me to wait until it heats up. I’m not sure why she waited to tell me about this issue after I had to ask. Nonetheless, two hours later it still wasn’t heating. The host told us to just use the community center and use the key card hanging. We read about the key card in the guest guide book. But it wasn’t hanging at the front door like it’s supposed to be. The host told me to get a spare out of a secret spot. But the back up wasn’t there either. So then the cleaner came back to look at the hot tub and try to find the key card. I was out to dinner with my daughters. Upon return, the front door was left open, with all my stuff unsecured. Back door was unlocked too. Not cool. Hot tub was reading 58 degrees at 9:30pm. It never reached operating temperature before check out time. The WiFi is not good at this location. My phone was on SOS mode there. Walls were dirty. Hair ball was in one of the showers.

Hard to problem solve the hot tub with the wrong directions.

Came to this cabin in hopes to see snow. Didn’t know we were coming during a snow storm and ended up getting about 8-10 inches of snow. Lisa was checking in on us the entire trip and really made us feel safe in the weather conditions that we were unfamiliar with. Would definitely book again.

The drive from Dillard is an adventure if you’re not used to mountain driving! While the listing clearly states ‘Mountain home’ we weren’t fully prepared for the narrow and winding roads. The driveway is another feat to accomplish!The home is as described. As far as owner responsiveness to issues we were pleased. We had an issue with the Roku remote needing batteries and the key card for the Sky Valley fitness center being demagnetized but the owner responded promptly and we resolved both issues. The kitchen is well stocked as far as drinkware, plates, utensils, pots and pans. The kitchen and bathroom floors are filthy. The patio and furniture on it are also dirty. We would have liked to use it but we didn’t want to spend time cleaning it.

The house was perfect for a few of us that played golf at Sky Valley CC. The location is perfect for anyone that would be playing golf or taking advantage of the other options in the area. The only additional comment would be to be cautious pulling up the steep driveway.

The location was great! The home is beautiful and the beds were extremely comfortable. We enjoyed using the outdoor space to make s’mores. We also enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and enjoying the scenery.

Plenty of room. Once the directions were given for the hot tub it was great. Had some issues but host responded immediately and was able to resolve the problems. Communication was topnotch. Only suggestion would be a little more TLC. Sky Valley is beautiful!

Outstanding location for sight-seeing and shopping between Highlands,NC and Dillard,Clayton GA. House was well appointed, provided everything for our needs and great for privacy for 2 adult couples. We especially enjoyed the large kitchen and the screened porch. Communication with the owner was excellent. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

Staying at this VRBO was a good experience. Lisa (our host) was an excellent and thorough communicator, and she responded to our only complaint (see below) in a reasonable and pleasant way. Regarding amenities and finishes: in some cases, the house is even better than the pictures indicated (two bathrooms have had a classy update, for example)! Our only complaint: In our view, the property was in need of a good, deep clean. As we perceived them, the listing photos didn’t give an accurate impression of its current state. The host interacted very amiably with us on the subject, and we had no issues with her whatsoever. If you’re able to adjust your expectations a tad, it’s a dandy place to stay. It’s many perks are apparent from the listing! Grateful for a quiet place to enjoy quality time, Isaac Timan and Family

The home itself was perfect size for our extended family weekend. But - Online photos do reflect what the house looked like at a better time. Furniture is well used as are the kitchen cooking items. The beds were fine. House was dimly lit. This home can be much more inviting if deep cleaned top to bottom. It appeared to have been lightly cleaned before our visit and the outside area and grill need to be cleaned up.

Overall the house was nice. However, whoever had been hired to clean didnt do a very good job. DIL needed to vacuum the upstairs railing and doorways for cobwebs. My husband and i washed down the outdoor chairs bc of moss and dirt. I know its hard to keep things clean in a mountain setting but they looked like they hadnt been touched in quite a while.
