"Stayed for one night after the ferry from Newfoundland. Friendly check in. Room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast in the morning. Eggs, sausage, bagels toast etc. great to get started in the morning. Easy in and out to highway. About a 15 minute walk to the downtown area restaurants."

L'accueil par Carmen était aux petits soins. Parfaitement situé en plein cœur de Sydney. Le petit déjeuné était santé et délicieux. Fortement recommandé comme endroit pour séjourner, on va y revenir. "There are some places you stay that you forget as soon as you leave and others you will remember for a long time. This falls into the latter. It's as described rustic and a life photo. There is a mix of decorations that to me were cool and interesting. WiFi was good, small galleon kitchen, didn't use but looked sufficient. The real winner here is being able to sit right on a river deck, ducks and geese everywhere, frogs playing the banjos, beavers swimming by (never seen a beaver in my life...

"Great location for experiencing Bras d’Or Lake area. Husband and son did charter deep sea fishing from Stanley, 30 min. away. Many thoughtful touches. Host was very helpful and communicative. Good for getting away from it all."

"We wish we could live at Rita’s retreat all the time! Our room was nice and cozy. The backyard is so spacious and peaceful all the way down to the water. The indoor saltwater pool was icing on the cake! Mike was very accommodating, helpful and fun to talk to— I recommend Rita’s Retreat!"
