"It could be a lovely hotel if the staff smiled and had a clue what was going on. There was a lovely and friendly lady on reception, and one of the waiter serving in the evening was friendly, as was one of the bar staff (Josh). Everyone else seemed a bit surprised to have guests, and the women working at the bar weee positively rude in their demeanour. It could definitely do with an injection of cash to update it. "The Shower is to small and old"

"Wanted to have a drink on balcony overlooking weir unable to do so as we were not booked into restaurant.Very disappointed as the restaurant was empty staff unable to resolve issue.Hotel was shabby and not of the standard I would expect for a 4 Star Hotel .Room was not air conditioned and smelt of damp in need of a update."

"Shame we're not local or will visit Wendover again anytime soon, as we'd stay here again, no hesitation. Great location right in the middle of the town. Secure carpark. Lovely room, great size, neat, clean, can't fault it. Very helpful manager and staff. Breakfast choice was great. Bar and all grounds kept clean and tidy and the whole place had a lovely 'at home' feeling - shame we couldn't stay longer! Thanks for the hospitality - highly recommend."

"This pub is a really well looked after and the rooms are super comfortable... lovely bed, large rooms... The breakfast is top quality and a great comfortable experience... The only things to note are, it is not as close to Henley as I thought, it was about 4-5 miles away and there is NO mobile reception in the pub or the rooms... if you need to make or receive any calls, you have to walk around the car park or the village for a reception...! Apart from that, I would definately go back and stay,...

"New hotel - nice, clean, newly and tastefully decorated, great location in the middle of Henley-on-Thames, not far from the river. Good breakfast and dinner. Very nice external seating area with retractable roof and TVs to watch sport (world cup was on). Other good restaurants, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s Local nearby. Still need to fix some teething problems - coffee pods and machine provided weren’t matched, no air conditioning in the room (we stayed during a heat wave - electric fan kindly...

"You enter your room to calming classical music and delicious treats. Nicely furnished room and comfortable bedding. Just what I needed."

"Seemed clean enough but was a bit of a dive. Noisy with fire doors banging. Parking to check in was difficult until got access to the parking thru the barrier, probably limited parking if you arrive late."
