We only stayed one night of our 6 night stay!
I probably could have gotten over the awful smell, the dirty air vents, the direct tv not working and just a place that is overall rundown but there were other factors.
First and foremost most, my wife and daughter didn’t feel safe. The neighborhood was not ideal.
There is no good way to block or lock entry to the stairs or the surrounding deck We had many concerns. From people partying in the parking lot next door, numerous homeless and vagrants walking through the parking lot at all times of the day and my vehicle being isolated and an easy target, it just wasn’t a situation I felt comfortable enough to keep my family in.
The front door and lock is something that can easily be broken into with very little force. I mean I could put my foot on it a give it a light push and be in. It is poorly built and secured to the structure. I don’t know what was better, let my wife and kids sleep in the room with the sliding glass door that is very old and also easily broken into or the other room where someone could walk right up the stairs and in a few steps knock the window out and gain entry.
We toughed out the 1st night but when we got back to the unit just before sunset the next day, the numerous shady characters just hanging around the surrounding properties partying pushed us over the edge. We left and went to a hotel room for the rest of our stay in Denver. Requested 1/2 of the stay credited, but owner denied.
