Daufuskie Paradise

I vacationed here with my husband and three children (14, 12, and 9 years old). We were initially concerned about the logistics of a vacation on the island; however, we were relieved with the amount of information and guidance received. The condo was great and met our needs. A few minor recommendations were provided to the owners to enhance the stay of others but there was nothing that impacted our stay. A few notes to assist others: The condo is in the unit to the left when you arrive, most all cooking utensils, etc. that was needed was available (no muffin tin, whisk, and missing a few measuring cups- otherwise, great selection). For those like me that enjoy lower sleeping temps at night, the thermostat does not go lower than 68. Also, the beds were not worn out and in good condition, just softer than my preference. There was pool chairs, and a few beach toys for the children. The condo also had a great selection of movies and games. The owners were very responsive to our questions and also proactively checked in to see if we needed anything. If we return to the Island for future vacations, we would definitely stay here again.

Sandy Lane Villas are the best on the island!

We really enjoyed our stay - the condo was way bigger than it looked in the photos so we were very comfortable and overall happy with having plenty of space for our group of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids) The sandy lane facilities and location are overall very nice - the pool area was really nice, the beach itself was perfect, it never felt too crowded. Our only complaints were with the dryer in the unit not really ever fully drying the clothes and the jacuzzi in the master bedroom never got hot so we sadly couldn't use it. The fan in the master also rattles all night so you really couldn't sleep with it on if you were going to bed sober. ;) Overall, we had a great time - when we did reach out to the property manager asking for a lightbulb and beach chair to be replaced, they responded very quickly and had both taken care of, which was really nice.

Annual girls trip

Four middle aged women chose Daufuskie for our annual girls beach trip and had a wonderfully relaxing but also adventurous week. The condo was spacious and immaculate, located right on the beach which was sparsely populated. In fact, many days we walked to the southern tip of the island (Bloody Point) and did not see another soul in either direction. Having a pool on the property was a big plus. The wildlife was fascinating and the whole vibe of the island is like stepping into another time. We brought food to prepare but ended up bringing much of it back home with us because there are several places to eat. Highly recommend having some locals prepare your dinner. And don’t miss a Gullah tour with Sallie Ann Robinson! We left rejuvenated and inspired. We highly recommend this property and are already making plans to return.

5 Day Daufuskie Adventure

I have stayed at properties managed by Ms. Smith/Daufuskie rental group on several occasions. I have stayed in this particular unit twice, which should tell you something right away. You can't beat it. The property is clean, spacious (plenty of room for our party of 6 adults), and you're right on the beach with a great view - not to mention, there is a pool on the property. Deb, Lisa, and Karen make getting to the island as easy as possible and are available to answer any questions via text or phone call at a moments notice. Can't recommend the property enough.

We’ll be back

A wonderful spring break. The villa was perfect for our young family and grandparents. You can spend your days at the beach right out front or exploring the island. A unique experience that we can’t wait to repeat!

Beautiful beach and villa

The villa is very nicely appointed. Deborah Smith, property manager really bends over backwards to help you out! The beach has glistening sand and is so clean! The island is quite unique. Make sure you bring food for all meals, drinks, paper goods etc as there is minimal food available on the island. Amazing wildlife..alligators, armadillos, snakes, beautiful birds, deer and Fox Squirrels (they look like Lemurs). The beach is full of beautiful sea life. Take a ride on May River boat excursions to see the dolphins! Wonderful experience! While the island does not have a hospital, we did get to see the EMS team in action. Kudos to them and the Haig Point captains for getting us to the hospital in Hilton Head quickly!

Great Daufuskie trip with friends and family

The condo is large (plenty of room for our party of 6 adults), clean and has an excellent view of the ocean from the balcony. The beach is easily accessible and there's a large pool on the property. This is my 2nd time staying at a property managed by Ms. Smith/Daufuskie Rental Group - you can't do better on the island, or anywhere for that matter. Ms. Smith was readily available via call, text, or email to answer any questions I had. It was a great vacation staying at a wonderful property managed by a great team. I can't recommend this property and DRG enough.

Beautiful!!

Amazing!! Debbie was so helpful. Her hosting is the best I have seen. Any questions we had, she would answer quickly. We could not find our way to the villa a d called for directions. She came to our location and showed us the way. The villa was peaceful and everyone was very nice. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful Location

Everything about this vacation was great. We had a couple of bumps along the way, but those issues were satisfactorily addressed efficiently and with no hassles. We are already looking forward to returning next year.

Great location!

We enjoyed the very private beach and walking to Bloody Point. Paddle boats and kayaks rented right next store. Great layout for family or multiple families even!
