Perfect Family Farmstay
What an awesome place. The kids loved everything about the place. Great for the city kids to experience farm life. Also the farm down the road, Tommerup, has a shop where you can get all your meat, farm veggies and milk. Thanks to the hosts for making it such a great holiday

Warm, friendly and hospitable
What a delight to stay at Kate and Sam’s place. We felt welcomed like family, the children played like dear friends. The ambience is so peaceful, the old milk shed/ cottage so tastefully and fittingly designed and furbished. We loved the trek to the lookout, building rock walls on the creek and partaking in some of the farm life shenanigans. “Feel the serenity” Thanks Kate, Sam and your lovely boys 🙏

Breakfast with cows
Bright, clean and very scenic dairy. This was the most well thought out getaway destination for us. The animals were so close that we woke up to ‘Fred’ quietly grazing at the back door and ‘Daisy’ at the front door watching over four calves kicking up their heels in delight. The chicken and duck pen is just metres away and we had fun watering them and collecting eggs. The gorgeous dairy looks over the most beautiful valley and the stars shine so bright away from the city lights. I can’t forget to mention the fun we had visiting and feeding the eleven piglets who squeal with excitement every time they saw us. So true to the description, I can’t recommend highly enough, I haven’t even got to the great fire pit yet! A Must! Thanks very much Sam and your talented Wife.

We will be Back!
Loved our little farmstay getaway! It just wasn't long enough! Even tho we got a wet weekend, there was lots to see and do. Feeding the animals, playing with chickens was my son's favourite and collecting the eggs each morning! Thank you and we will be back!

Peaceful get away
We loved our time at the farm. Nobody wanted to leave. It was beautiful to just take it all in and relax. We loved meeting all the animals (especially Stan, the very friendly cow) Accomodation was very comfortable with heating and great kitchen.

Heavenly farmstay getaway
Darlington Grove is the most idyllic little getaway. The property has plenty of hands on things to experience and give the kids a taste of farm life. Warm, comfortable and spacious accommodation with an outdoor kitchen to bring outdoor in, plus the hottest shower, the facilities have everything covered. The free wandering farm animals were friendly and tame and immersed themselves with us the moment we arrived. The creek running through the property was a great source of fun for the kids. The views are divine and if you’re adventurous there’s lots to do on and off the property to keep you busy for more than a few days! Loved every moment.

Hidden Gem in Scenic Rim
We stayed at Darlington Grove Farm Stay for two nights and had a fantastic time. The converted dairy was lovely. The bedroom was clean and spacious. We stayed with our two children (aged 9 and 6) who slept on the camp beds and absolutely loved it. We treated our stay like “glamping” so took some camping lights and tried not to use the electrical lights which really helped keep any insects away. We all loved exploring the property, feeding the pigs, sheep and horses. The Albert River is a short 50m walk from the dairy but also has a farm track down to the river if you did want to drive to it. We had great fun paddling in the crystal clear water and throwing in a line. Sam and his family checked in and made sure we felt very welcome. We loved the resident French Bulldog (Buddah) and had a most relaxing weekend which is exactly what we all needed. I always judge a place by asking would I go back? In this case we most definitely would.

Magical Family Getaway
This is the second time we have stayed here, we love it so much! We have made such special memories both times. Our young boys love feeding the animals and visiting them each day. Exploring the river and climbing mountains was also so much fun! Thank you Sam and Kate for a wonderful stay. We didn’t want to leave! We will visit again!!

Fantastic Farm Getaway
Perfect 2 day getaway from the noise and bustle of the city. Heaps to do (or not do) and plenty to explore. Clear skies with plenty of stars and marshmallows shared around the warm fire. Lost World lagoon down the road for extra fun and plenty of animals to entertain the kids. We had an absolute blast and took home a lot of great memories. Thank you!

A perfect reset

Darlington Grove met all expectations
Everything that the online listing expressed and the owners described to me personally was accurate about Darlington Grove. As a landscape artist wanting somewhere that inspired me as well as somewhere suitable to set up my materials in the open and under cover when the needed, this destination is ideal. The bedroom accomodation was sumptuously comfortable and the living space was robustly furnished in keeping with its semi open air design and as a place not too precious or fussy for its use by families wanting to relax.

FARMSTAY BREAK
We had a wonderful stay at Darlington Grove. We loved feeding the pigs and collecting eggs everyday. We also spent a lot of time in the river that runs through the property. Sam was very helpful and assisted us throughout our stay. Highly recommended.

A Great Family Escape!
The Hosts Sam and Kate are great and make you feel very welcome. This Property is great for kids and offers great family atmosphere for those looking to have a nice quiet escape from everyday life. The kids will have Lots of things to do and never go bored, from feeding the animals or spending time with them, bushwalks amongst the cow paddocks, playing in the River. A Fantastic Experience
My partner and I recently stayed at Darlington Grove over a weekend and had a fantastic time. The area and facilities are great and very relaxing. We loved getting hands on with the wide array of farm animals too! Would definitely love to return and recommend to anyone.

Such a memorable experience!
Staying at Darlington Grove was a very relaxing and memorable experience for our family. The kids loved feeding the pigs and were so excited each day to visit the chicken and duck pen. The fire pit was also a highlight of the stay.

Solo Booking
I booked as a solo traveller, I felt very welcomed, and was shown by Sam how to make the fire and was given supplies. He showed me around the farm and how it operates. It’s so beautiful and gets a lovely sunset. Thank you Sam and Kate!

Best family holiday we've ever had
Our whole family loved our adventure on the farm. It was such a great way to remove ourselves from our normal life and learn about living and working on a farm. The property was so beautiful and green and the perfect size to explore in four days. The best part of our experience was being able to feed the ducks, chickens, pigs, horses, sheep and calf, Jeffrey. We felt like we got to know their personalities over the 4 days and were very sad to say goodbye. It was raining during our stay but that didn't stop us exploring the farm and venturing down to the river. The accommodation was perfect because we had the comfort of the bedroom at night but enjoyed the outdoor open air living areas during the day and evening. Highly recommend for a couple or young family.

Great escape
It was such a great way to get away from it all and be immersed in the country life. The kids loved to help feed the animals every morning and afternoon and being able to explore the property on their own. We loved sitting around the campfire at night. We will definitely be back =)

Hard to leave
We had such a good time it was hard to leave. The kids loved the animals especially Buddha the dog and Elvis the Chicken. Between exploring the property, playing in the creek, tending the campfire and feeding the animals they were completely occupied and crashed out asleep each night. The room is beautifully decorated and perfectly positioned for a sunrise view. The semi-outdoor kitchen, dining and lounge area the prefect spot to relax with a book or wine before dinner and then sit and watch the moon rise and star gaze until bed. Overall the best holiday we have had in a long time. We will definitely be back or we might just buy a farm nearby!! Thanks again Sam and Kate and kids.

Relaxation guaranteed
Loved our stay at this property and would highly recommend it for young families. The best part was no TV or WiFi. We enjoyed feeding the animals (sheep, pigs, cows, horses), checking the chicken coop (about 20 times a day), long bush walks, creek swims, playing board games, cricket, toasting marshmallows by the fire, settling down with a good book and just getting in touch with nature. Hosts were wonderful, location is close enough to Beaudeseret if you need anything. Three nights of pure bliss - we will be back.

Great little Farmstay
We had a wonderful few days at Darlington Grove. We decided to stay here instead of camping for a bit more comfort and warmth and it was great. Beautiful location, lovely bushwalking, and great hosts. Our two boys thoroughly enjoyed exploring the farm and creek, feeding the farm animals and playing with the kids. We were lucky enough to see 9 little piglets while we were there too. Great little break for families with everything you need.

Perfect weekend away.
We had a wonderful time. The accomodation is everything as described if not better. Kitchen was perfect. Nothing required to bring except your own food and drink. Perfect scenery. Wonderful hosts. The perfect break from city life!

We stayed here with our three and four year old children. The freedom they had to explore the farm was amazing, they loved the piglets and chickens. The river is a great place to play and the bush walk was lovely with fantastic views from the ridge. Sam and Kate were really welcoming and made us feel at home. The accomodation is beautifully set up. The camp fire and stars at night were breathtaking.

Unique family adventure
Thank you so much Sam and Kate for giving us the ultimate farm experience. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back. Darlington Grove is such a beautiful & peaceful place. We loved exploring the 100 acres farm, we climbed up the steep hill that provided stunning views of the Lost World Valley, waded through the Albert River that runs through the property, and of course played with all the animals. Our children loved feeding the pigs, and we were lucky enough to play with the tiny piglets that were born only a couple of days before we arrived. The guinea pigs were another favourite. And of course the 2 beautiful horses Tessa and Chester. The accommodation was really lovely with a great outdoor kitchen and a big fireplace. We also loved exploring the area (Lost World) by car and foot. Highly recommend staying at Sam and Kate's Farmstay!!

Amazing back to nature retreat
We stayed here for 2 nights (not long enough!) and found the property well equipped and comfortable. Everything from initial contact with the owners to questions during our stay were answered rapidly and they were very helpful. The kids loved helping out with the farm animals especially the piglets and calves. We really enjoyed seeing the wallabies and many wild birds. There’s so much to do around here we barely scratched the surface but we’d love to return sometime. Highly recommended for some quality time away from it all in beautiful surroundings.

Wonderful family experience
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved the interaction with the animals. We were very lucky that lambs had just been born and there were two young calves and a piglet. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The property is easy to find, and is close to Lamington National Park. Sam, Kate and their children were very friendly and helpful. They are terrific hosts. We look forward to our next visit.

Thanks for your stay. We are so happy you enjoyed the open space and the Dairy building. The week you left we welcomed 3 new lambs and two little orphan steers so the farm is always evolving. We hope to see you guys again in the future.

Delightful country getaway
We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Darlington Grove. Thank you Sam and Kate for sharing this piece of country paradise with us. It made a for a memorable getaway. The accomodation is a delight; thoughtfully furnished and lovely to relax into. We also enjoyed the inside/outside feel of the kitchen and living space: with plenty of room to relax and take in the changing vistas throughout the day and soak up the dazzling constellations at night. It also a great base to explore the Scenic Rim area. Thank you for your suggestions for places to visit!
