The location is amazing. Easy access considering the remote location. Once reached it felt like being miles from any other people. So peaceful. Proximity to Cape Tribulation, Daintree Village, and Cow Bay were perfect. Must be familiar with propane stove and oven for successful cooking. Minimized our water and electricity use, but this did not detract from our stay in the slightest. Everything we needed for a comfortable holiday.t.

It's a really beautiful spot and the house is beautiful too. Mostly as advertised, but not quite, On arrival, you find that it's solar powered and water is rainwater so you're asked not to use any electrical appliances, minimise use of wi-fi and minimise water usage. Eco credentials are commendable but the limitations should be made clear before you book and pay top dollar. There is no washing machine (cos it would use too much power) although booking sites said there was one. Photos of the pool are misleading. It is a plunge pool about 3m x 4m. Very pleasant to use, but if you think the kids are going to play in the pool all day (as the photos suggest) think again. Some household items are getting a bit old and worn out. Despite all this, it's a brilliant place and the big balcony is a winner.

We loved the house and the view of the ocean. We have even seen whales from the balcony. Kate responded immediately when we had a question. Kitchen was well equipped and there were some condiments in de fridge and spices in the cupboards

After a busy week in Cairns, this was the perfect place to rest and rejuvenate. We never tired of looking out over Cow Bay from Daintree Magic - highlight was getting up early to watch the sunrise from the balcony and having a bath with a sea view. The house is gorgeous and has everything you need. Be aware that a huge section of the road from the ferry to Cow Bay is being rebuilt (July 2024) causing lengthy delays. Took us over two hours from joining the ferry queue to reaching the house. Don’t miss Daintree Ice Cream Company and Thornton’s cafe by the Beach (they also sell their delicious fresh bread by the loaf).

Generously supplied with everything needed in the kitchen. Everything worked well. To get to the bathroom/toilet you need to go out the front door and enter another door, which was fine for us but might be a bit challenging for younger kids? Windows all had insect screens. Beach is nice to walk along. Not far to walk to the beach, but it's a bit of a steep hike to get back up the hill (after the first time, we cheated and used the car - hey, we're on holiday!). Beds were comfy. View from the deck was wonderful. Ice cream from the Daintree Ice Cream Company was delicious. We ate at Crocodylus and at On The Turps when we weren't making our own dinners. All in all, a very enjoyable 4 night stay in a beautiful location.

Three nights of bliss - we wish we'd booked longer! It was a beautifully relaxing few days after a busy couple of weeks in Cairns. The location is beautiful, walking distance to the beach. The kids enjoyed exploring the creek on the property, and it is close to other touristy places to explore. We saw cassowaries and a wild pig with piglets!

Kate's place is a rare find in one of the most beautiful places I've visited. The property is in a fantastic location with lush rainforest on all sides and a fantastic view of the coral sea. We were mesmerised! A 10 minute walk takes you to Cow Bay and on both days i visited i had the beach almost to myself! A stunning place! We cooked our own evening meals and found the kitchen had everything we needed. The propery is solar powered with gas for heating water and also the cooker. Used carefully, we had everything we needed. The beds were also very comfy. We would love to return one day! 😊

This was our second visit to Daintree Magic. It is a perfect base to explore the local area. Nestled in the rainforest, with ocean views and a stones throw to beautiful Cow Bay Beach. We really enjoyed our time here, and hope to return again.

Like home away from home, surrounded by rainforest and only the sounds of nature to accompany you. It is a beautiful home and so peaceful. A great base to explore all that the Cow-Bay to Cape Tribulation area has to offer. (I note that the property does not have the washing machine listed in the amenities but otherwise everything is as listed)

Very cute cottage with the most beautiful views, everything was really clean and tidy, the gardens were immaculate. We did have major issues with the power, it would turn off so many times and was impossible for all 5 of us to have a shower as the water would turn off. It also would have been nice to have wifi and a TV and an oven rather than cooking on the BBQ. I get that it was an eco-friendly place but it was not as relaxing with the water turning off and on all the time. As tidy and cute as the house was I would not come back to stay here, unfortunately. Had this issue not happened and we could use more power (we were so paranoid 5 of us would have 1 light on at a time at night!) and had more access to appliances (like an oven) then we would be back for sure.

We really enjoyed staying at Daintree Magic. I couldn't get enough of just soaking up the rainforest and it's changing moods while also enjoying the ocean view at this very tranquil and private location. The house was very clean, comfortable and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The location was perfect for exploring the local area. Would love to return one day. We did run out of solar power, but it was easy to turn the generator on.

Went back to Kate's place again for more time out. This time around the weather was perfect so spent alot of our time at the beach enjoying the solitude of Cow Bay and doing a spot of fishing. Saw a huge lizard "on steroids"(as I call them) sunning itself in the garden and even a whale passing by. Just another great stay.

Wow- what an awesome home!! Within 5 minutes of arriving we rated this a 10/10. As locals from cairns,we just wanted a weekend away,off the grid and to just escape work for a while to relax and unwind. The house was immaculately presented and well catered for and had a very homely feel about it.The location- superb, up in the trees, quiet and gives the impression that you don’t have any neighbours because you just don’t hear anything. It was just awesome. Although it rained the whole time during our stay, we still both really enjoyed sitting out on the deck watching and listening to the rain and de-stressing.Even had a cassowary pay us a visit.
