Location, Location, Location

My family and I take an annual trip and this property has to be so far the best location we have stayed at. From the decor, to the location, to the comfort of the beds/couches.

Perfect Family Beach Vacation

This was the perfect beach house for our family and grandkids! We had a blast spending time at the beach, which was just a short 5 minute drive and then coming back to enjoy the pool. The house was very clean, plenty of room and had everything we needed. We will definitely be back next year!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent a week at the Gnarly Marlin with six adults and four kids (all under the age of 7). Great property with everything we needed. Well appointed kitchen, wonderful swimming pool, and the large tables in the pool area and the dining room were wonderful for our large group. The kiddos enjoyed the TV and the large couch for lounging. Overall a wonderful stay. We will book it again next year.

I wish the bunk room was upstairs instead of downstairs with direct access to the pool, but other than that, this place was great! We had one maintenance issue but the management company was very responsive and took care of it right away. I would highly recommend this property.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay was fun however, we had a huge roach and bug problem. They were everywhere in the house. On the walls, on the floor, and all alive. More amenities could definitely have been provided as the description was very vague and one big towel per guest was not enough.

It lacked in some aspects, coffee maker worked off and on until last day then totally quit, we had a small child with us and could not locate a mop or broom to clean up after her. The TVs in the upstairs bedrooms did not have connections to internet so could not be used, the door going to the upstairs deck from living room was very difficult to shut and the light in the pool did not work.

Beautiful property and great location

The property felt very large and had a ton of space. Master bedroom/TV/bathroom was huge. Living area and combined kitchen was also very large. The whole property is well decorated and designed. Getting places was simple, the ferry was a cool experience and we got right on and off both times we used it (lucky probably). Concrete pool is a good size with seating along the edges and a ramp into the shallow end with a wall (pool was my favorite part personally). Used the pool more than anything else probably. My only complaint is the check in process. They do have it in their agreement that check in could be at 5pm if guests stayed in the residence the night prior. My complaint? Everything else says that check in is at 4pm and I was never told that they needed extra time for my check in. So, our 10 family was a little concerned to not receive check-instructions until approximately 4:20pm with no prior notification that they needed us to check in late. And, whoever I was messaging (property manager likely) just wanted to argue with me about it and wanted to be right instead of acknowledging or apologizing for their lack of notification that I would have to check in after 4pm due to them not being ready on time. I consider this a small inconvenience though and wouldn't let this turn you away from this amazing property! Definitely worth the money! I believe that the only reason to spend more money somewhere else is if you need more space. Great bang for buck IMO.

Great Customer Service lacking upkeep

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Helpful customer service during booking and leaving with an extended checkout, but was a bit disappointed on the cleanliness. Kitchen had large cockroaches. On several occasions when walking into the kitchen area there were large roaches crawling around. This made it uncomfortable to leave even packaged food on counters or cabinets. Due to the short stay and lack of time we just decided to avoid the kitchen. Great location, close to everything, and not in a busy traffic area. Unfortunately for us we didn’t get to fully enjoy, but if cleaned better it’s an enjoyable place. Therefore, I would recommend to a friend with hopes for a cleaner environment.

Port A Escapes was very prompt in coming to empty full trash cans that had not been put out from previous renters. Would recommend this house. Also rented Hydro Therapy across the street. A darling decorated home and very comfortable. Downstairs apartment is great for grandparents to get away. Very nice outdoor space and pool area. Outdoor games advertised were missing as were sheets for air beds that complete the number of people this home can accommodate. We made do and enjoyed both houses very much. Would recommend both houses.

Summer vacation

Maintenance crew was on the air conditioner job for 7 hours but fixed a problem that had reported by another group. Fire alarms needed new batteries at 4 am reported around 10 and crew was on the spot. Thank you. We had a great time! Will stay again as this was #2 time to stay here.

Pool was clean which is a must have for me and my family. The only issue i had was i needed to make sure all doors were locked downstairs due to design of home, but i would give this home 5 stars.

Close to the beach, close to the middle of town. The house was beautiful and the pool was a hit with the whole family. I noticed it was larger than a lot of the other homes pools. We have been going to Port A for over 25 yrs and this place was by far our favorite.

Everything was great!

Everything was great! We did have a issue getting the pool warmed but they gave our money back for 1 day and got it going the next.. The only thing I personally had a issue with is the golf cart in the garage. Once my kids seen it, they wanted to ride it. If it’s not for rent Why have it to where we have access to it?! But overall everything was good.
