Blue Roost Home Playa Community

Highly recommend this home in Port Aransas. Perfect location with quick walking access to the beach. House has everything you will need, from kitchen utensils & pots to beach toys and beach chairs. All we brought was our beach canopy and fishing rods for night fishing. Beautiful upstairs deck with ocean view.

Best beach house ever!!

We rented this to celebrate my daughters birthday with some friends. They loved the bunk room and the easy access to the beach! The owner reached out when she thought there was a problem, but it all worked out. Great communication!! The house was perfect for a group of girls and their moms!! We would do it all over again!

Marvelous Beach Getaway

We loved our stay at the Blue Roost!!! The proximity to the beach is stellar and we thoroughly relished in being able to relax there for a few days, watching the waves. The beach accessories provided were an added bonus and we were so grateful to be able to use the bimini and chairs. We had plenty of room and everything we needed plus some. Andddd the spices!!! 3 Lauren is an amazing host! Highly recommend!

Great Getaway

We had a great time down in Port Aransas at this secluded VRBO. The property is a very short walk to the beach with its own private access. By vehicle it is also quite quick as it is adjacent to a beach access road. It’s far enough away from the restaurants/bar district that no noise enters the neighborhood, while you’re only a couple of minutes away from dining. The home provided enough dining space for our family without feeling cramped and we were thankful for having blackout curtains to help a little one with her naps. We would definitely rent here again.

Fabulous!

Our family trip included 2 grandparents, 2 adults and 3 kiddos (2, 12, 14). This home was PERFECT for our group! Plenty of space for everyone and great "open" area for family meals and games, the website photos are accurate. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Short walk to the beach and lots of beach toys available (and a wagon to transport everything). Laundry room was nice to take home clean clothes if you choose to do that. Downside for us was the weather - no fault of the homeowners! We made the best of it anyway and enjoyed our week. If you're taking a fur family member (we had our cocker spaniel), ask the owner if it's sand burr season. We found some coated socks at PetSmart that worked wonderfully to protect her paws. The owner Lauren is GREAT! She not only answered our text questions quickly (we just had 2 questions), she also followed up to ensure we didn't have any additional questions. Her communication ahead of our arrival was also timely and complete! We would 100% stay here again. Highly recommend this property!

Great Beach House

This home is a 2 minute walk to the beach. The kitchen is amazing and I did all our cooking at home. Great and quiet neighborhood - if highly recommend!

Second time

We stayed at the Blue Roost in August of 2022 and again July 2024. It’s our favorite. Beautiful home that fits a large number of people. Clean and bright. The attic space with a bunch of twin beds it’s perfect for the kids. Very easy walk or cart ride to beach. We will book again for sure.

Relaxing Family Time

We had a fantastic stay at the Blue Roost! The house had top notch appliances and came with toiletries (extra toilet paper rolls, soap, etc). The location was perfect so you don’t have to drive to the beach and can use the beach wagon. We left with no sand in our car - what a win! There was also a closet full of beach toys! Our kids and dogs had a great time. There were more than enough beds (which were super comfy) and there was a washing machine on site. The owners were super responsive to my random questions and helpful! We will be back again!

Super Host Rating 100% Deserved!

The Blue Roost is a wonderful get-away beach house! For a vacation rental, the property is extremely well-maintained. You can tell that the hosts, Lauren and Doug Applegate, truly care about their renters. They are so attentive to every little detail. We communicated a few times with Lauren, and she was exceptionally responsive. Priceless!!! Hands down the best vacation rental we have ever had. We'll be back!

Perfect getaway with beach access - PLUS TOYS!

This was such a well furnished, well stocked house with berry easy access to the beach. We’ve stayed at a number of places on Port A and this house sets itself apart in so many ways: location to the beach, access to beach toys, tons of beds, and close in to town. We brought boards, wagon, buckets and chairs, only to find that these were already waiting for us. Owner was also very responsive when the coffee machine didn’t work; they had another coffee machine delivered by hand the next day! The upper deck was also a very nice place to gather and see the ocean. We will definitely keep the Blue Roost on our list for rebooking

Fall Getaway

We enjoyed a wonderful week in Port Aransas. The house is in a great location with a short walk to the beach. The neighborhood was quiet and had an unexpectedly good view of the beach. Lauren was both pleasant & professional. We would happily stay here again.

Relaxing mid-week stay

Great location! Very close to the beach, and the boardwalk makes it an easy walk. You can see the water from the top deck, and the neighborhood is nice and quiet. If you bring a pup, watch out for stickers! The owner provides all sorts of essentials for the beach and in the kitchen. I can see how this house would be very appealing for groups. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay.

Lovin' La Playa 2

Our stay was wonderful. The property is beautiful! All appliances are top of the line and the house is fully stocked with whatever is needed for fun in the sun and relaxation. Communication with property owners was effortless and they were so friendly. We will be back!

Perfect Port A Beach Getaway

This is our second time staying at the Blue Roost, and we had an amazing time! The property has been significantly upgraded since our last stay around six or seven years ago, and it's really lovely inside with all the amenities you need. The bedrooms were cool and comfortable, which was welcome after a hot day at the beach. The rooftop deck and views are an added bonus, and we also really appreciated all the beach accessories available to us—especially the wagon to haul it all! We'll definitely be back.

Excellent hosting!

We had a wonderful week staying at the Blue Roost! I’ve never stayed at a rental so well stocked. There was a closet full of beach toys, sun shades, chairs, coolers, a wagon, and more. The kitchen was stocked well with cooking equipment and spices. The beach is accessible via a private boardwalk for the La Playa neighborhood. It was a quiet, family friendly area.

Mini Vacation

My family rented this house for 3 nights. Check-in and check-out was phenomenal and easy. Communication was quick and efficient. For this house to be on the beach, it was clean to our satisfaction. Very very minimal sand, beds are clean and comfy, showers and toilets are clean and worked properly. Our favorite was finding the little extras that the owners and previous tenants had left behind for the next! We left a couple of extras ourselves as to pay it forward. Our only suggestion would be to maybe replace the rug inside and on the front porch as they’re both stained, but aside from that we would most definitely rent this property again! 10/10 would recommend.
