We really enjoyed our stay here! It was nice having so much space with all of the family. The kids enjoyed the pool and volleyball area. The house was clean and came with so much to do. Having the golf cart was amazing to drop the beach stuff off and the family. Sherrie was fabulous! We have never had a host to be so informative and communicative. She was very helpful and responded immediately. We highly recommend staying here and we will be staying again!!

Great house

The house is everything as advertised. Lots of room, very clean, great kitchen, Location is perfect, short walk to the beach. Golf cart is a great extra. Owner is very easy to contact and extremely responsible. Would definitely stay there again.

Excellent Location

This property is close to many amazing experiences in walking distance such as the lighthouse, a cute coffee place, a boutique, two fun bars with outdoor live music, a margherita bar, and historical hunting club site. The house easily fit my large family with multiple bedrooms with adjoined bathrooms. The beach is in walking distance. I'd highly recommend purchasing the beach chair and umbrella setup service if you don't have a lot of energy to carry everything down the stairs. The pool was a major plus!

Property was probably great at one time needs a lot of maintenance that people are ignoring hot tub was dirty. Paul needed cleaned outside around pool was loaded with leaves and I hadn’t been cleaned inside. Had some minor issues with maintenance of doors needing hinges fixed railing on top floor loose could be an accident happening. There were boxes in the entryway of things that needed to be put together that were there the whole time in our way, trying to carry our things in cleaning did not get there until time of check-in. Then they rush their cleaning and tiles were folded and put on the shelves stamp Nails on the decks were coming up needed hammered in there were two brand new bikes, but two were nice, but there were four bags that didn’t work that should’ve been removed so the place wasn’t cluttered up the hostess was always sending different things to do in the area which was nice. Never responded to my pool and hot tub issue.The kitchen had numerous cooking appliances, which was great two crockpots ,blender,2types of coffee pots ,different types of pans so there was plenty of that which was great.Location was great

Just about the perfect big family home.

We are a big family that craves time together and time apart. This home gave us all of those things in one very centrally located spot. If you want to do more than sleep in and swim in the pool the beach is steps away. The park is so fun and unique, we visited several local attractions many of them free. We had a couple questions that were immediately resolved. The local Corolla pizza and Duck Doughnuts were a must! Our big mixed group of 15 had a blast. We can’t wait to return again in the future.

Much needed get away

We had a great time in Corolla. This was my first time in the Northern parts of the Outer Banks. The wild horses in Corolla are beautiful! This house is about 2 miles from the 4 wheel drive beaches. Very relaxing area, quiet neighborhood. Lighthouse can be seen from the back deck.

loooks are deceiving

inside was beautiful but the outside was another story. the decka are rotting away, the pool area not clean had leaves piled up in corners could not keep pool clean from debris from trees, paid extra for pool to open and heated. it was open but FREEZING.needs upgrades on most of the frying pans.prompt response from owner.would not recommend.

Perfect for Family Reunion

We enjoyed bonfires, sunrises, sunsets on the sound, and loved the location across from Nature Center, Beer Garden, Coffee shop, and proximity to shopping center. Sherrie, our host, was super responsive and communicated daily with reccomendations. We would gladly stay here again! The layout of the house is conducive for different size families such as ours - from empty nesters to blended families with kids in school, to young couples. The 4 King / 1 Queen room and 2 doubles were perfect accomdations for the grown ups, while the bunk rooms served the kids well. The kitchen is a chef's dream. It is the very well stocked with regards to every cooking utensil and pot and pan to create big family meals. You will never run out of dishes as there are enough sets for 3 or meals a day for a group of 15+. The dual dishwashers, refrigerators (3rd in lowest floor), coffee makers, and toasters were a huge benefit since that kitchen was occupied and utilized from dawn to dusk. And the super long dinner table and extra chairs allowed us to enjoy every memorable meal together. Unfortunately, due to hurricane season, the water was not safe to swim in, so the pool and hot tub were a welcome alternative. The golf cart was perfect to deliver our elderly parents and beach stuff to the beach, and bikes were very useful. This house had everything we were looking for to gather our family snd make memories. You may want to bring a karaoke machine since the acoustics are outstanding!

Outer Banks - Corolla

Perfect size for our large group of 16. 5 of our group were teenagers and there was plenty to do: pool, darts, volleyball, basketball to name a few. We visited after Labor Day so paid to have the pool open which was also used daily. The house was clean and spacious and we would stay again. The property could use some minor repairs but overall, a nice property. The host was amazing, communicates well and responds promptly.

Family memories

The inside of the property was very clean and nice. It was the perfect size for our family of 14. We all enjoyed having our own rooms and bathrooms. We all loved the pool and hot tub as well and they were very clean and as advertised. Realizing TS Debbie had just passed through before we got there made the pool area and cushions on the outdoor furniture sopping wet, dirty and moldy. We could not use them. Also there were no wash cloths in the laundry room as they were to be included with the linens and we had brought none of our own. There were no stores close by to buy any. When I contacted the host she assured me someone would be bringing them. We arrived on Saturday and they did not appear until Monday. We loved that there were 3 refrigerators, several coffee makers and toasters though. That was great! The washer and dryer were a plus as well. It would have been nice to have a retractable clothes line or folding laundry racks for wet beach towels and bathing suits. Our family enjoyed our stay very much. The golf cart was an excellent way to get our tents, food, drinks up to the stairs of the beach and back home again but it quit charging for the last two days of our stay. It could not be fixed before we had to leave. It would be greatly helpful if there was a designated parking space at the entrance of the beach for golf carts in the community. The bikes were not in good working condition and the decking on all 3 levels of the house was in need of repair and attention.

Great Experience

Our family of 22 had a great time at Blackbeard's Treasure. The pool and hot tub were in regular use. The ease of getting to the beach as well as to the park on the other side of the highway was a real plus. Sherry was great to work with. Very responsive. Just a few issues that keep it from being a 5 across the board: the outside areas including the decks had not been cleaned when we arrived (they were subsequently....the interior was spotless); bath towels were available but not hand towels (they were provided subsequently); and the configuration of the 2 second floor bedrooms was not exactly as advertised so we had to make some adjustments from our original plans. But, these were really minor to an overall great experience.

Layout & Amenities Great but Poorly Maintained

The bedroom layout and bed type worked almost perfectly for our family; the separation of rooms provided quiet space; the location to the beach was good. However, problems with how the property is maintained are numerous: HVAC fan filters (all) and most ceiling fan blades "caked" with dust; poolside seat cushions mildewed; kitchen pots dirty and cutting board moldy; kitchen countertop formica surface and nearly all cabinet trim separating (in most cases, secured with tape); one stovetop burner inop; deck picnic table seat broken and surface mildewed; screen door from master to deck falling off track; front doorknob difficult to operate; some bicycles too rusty to operate safely...and the worst: roaches (big ones) spotted on at least 4 occasions during our stay; plus, wifi router required resetting numerous times per day; at least one smoke detector missing; and numerous other trim pieces broken, missing or malfunctioning (toilet paper holder, recessed light flickering; sink stopper disconnected, etc.)

Blackbeard’s Treasure - Corolla

This family vacation was one of our favorites! There were 22 of us there ranging in age from 5 months to 60 years and there was something for everyone. The house was the perfect size and Sherrie was a great host. When we arrived the 2nd floor air conditioner was not functioning correctly and I immediately contacted Sherrie. She tried everything she could on her end to fix the problem and had a technician there within just a couple of hours. The unit was fixed and we never had another issue with it. All of us enjoyed some pool time, the cornhole sets, the bicycles and many of the other amenities that came with the house. The beach was just a short walk down the road, and the golf cart made transporting beach items and people so easy. I would highly recommend this property and Sherrie. Even before we arrived, Sherrie had been communicating with us and giving us food and entertainment suggestions. We definitely hope to stay here again.
