Before booking our stay we read previous guests’ reviews thoroughly. We booked this property based on the glowing reviews regarding the cleanliness of the home. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the smell of Clorox CleanUp, and I was very optimistic. However, we did have issue with a few areas. Mildew on the shower curtains, mildew on sliding doors and some window frames. One sliding door had a broken lock, and a stick was provided to brace the door. There was a tag stating the pool had been serviced the day prior to our arrival. Unfortunately, the weather was stormy during our stay and we did not get to use the pool. However, we could see sand in the bottom of the pool, and a black dirty ring around the waterline. All very simple fixes, not trip ruining items, just things that the cleaners and pool maintenance people should be paying better attention to. We also expected a more private location, since “secluded” was used in the property description. It is not secluded, in my opinion, it’s just as close to other homes as any other beach house. The only difference was a few trees/shrubs.

We enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and updated. Owners were available to answer any questions that arose. The only negative was the tight parking, otherwise everything was perfect! We would definitely stay here again!

We had a great stay! The listing was as described. Everything was clean - the house, the pool, the hot tub. It was also equipped with things for children that we did utilize (stools in the bathroom to help them reach the sink, wagons to carry things to the beach, booster seat attached to dining chair). The location of the house is only a 5 minute walk to the beach and 1 minute from a Harris Teeter if you need groceries

Great choice for a family of 10! Close to the beach and well equipped with booster seat, high chair, porta crib. Had some issues with the hot tub but property manager very responsive and very happy to help. Toys are mainly for older children- ours were under 4 but they loved the swing set and pool.Highly recommend!

We had the best time! The property had so many things that we could utilize that made our stay so much easier (towels, beach wagons, fantastic beach chairs, plenty of cookware). The location was convenient and the walk to the beach was really easy! I dont have a single complaint

Great house .... Beautiful beach

Our stay in Corolla was excellent overall ... the house was beautiful and fully equipped with everything on hand for a hassle free vacation ... the pool was bigger than most we've stayed at and was treated a couple of times during our stay so excellent service on that end ... the house is in a quiet cul de sac just off the main route into Corolla about 3 mins from Harris Teeter ... get your shopping done early in the morning because Saturday and Sunday afternoons its a mad house ... the beach is about a 5 minute walk but is accessed by lots of Boardwalk steps ... this was the only drag as hauling carts full of beach gear, chairs, umbrellas etc was difficult ... we found ourselves bringing less and less beach stuff ... only essentials by the end of the week ... the water varied from very still to big crashing waves throughout the week but is lifeguarded which is a massive bonus ... there were a few issues with sea lice on the calmer days ... the beach itself was quiet by OBX standards with plenty of space and beautiful scenery ... all in all it was a really enjoyable experience ... the house is located about 10 minutes from all the main Corolla attractions including the horses, jet skis and the 4 x 4 beach ... and 10 minutes from Duck ... perfect location ... great house ... beautiful beach and the owners were very easy to deal with and timely with their responses ... thank you OBX, we will see you again

This was the cleanest house I have ever stayed in. It was very nicely designed with bedrooms on two floors. The pool was a fabulous amenity. I would go back again.

Nice place!

Property was extremely nice and well kept. The walk to the beach is not bad at all but know that there are stairs to get up and over the dune. Nothing crazy, just prepare for 20-25 stairs.The property manager is very responsive and we had no problems getting what we need.Dont hesitate to stay here, everything you need is close by.

We loved it!

We absolutely loved the accommodations. There was only one drawback. While the walk to the beach was relatively short it was a bit difficult carrying coolers, umbrellas, beach bags, sand toys, etc. up and down a good many steps. The beach was nice and not crowded.

Corolla get away

Overall was spacious. Good location. Pool was a bonus. But we wish the umbrellas on the pool deck were more suitable. There were 2 umbrellas that didnt appear to fit the bases and therefore didnt provide any shade.

Family get together

We very much enjoyed our stay. Each bedroom had its own bathroom which was very convenient. Pool was very clean. A new umbrella was appreciated. Short walk to the beach. They provided a packnplay booster seat and high chair. Hot tub a nice 105 degrees that I loved. Towels, beach chairs, well stocked kitchen, etc. Property manager was great and pleasant to work with… Thank you!

Relaxing week

The house was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The homes are very close together in this area and we didn’t realize that the walk to the beach would entail carrying the wagon of beach chairs and other items up a flight of stairs and back down. The pool area certainly needs some additional shade. The one working umbrella was small and torn. The traffic to the home was very congested at duck beach. This was our lack of knowledge and had nothing to do with the home itself. Eileen was easy to work with and continued to communicate with us. The linens that were provided was only one set per bed and we had married couples that would have preferred their own bath towel and washcloth. Appreciated the many beach towels that were provided. Overall, a wonderful, relaxing week.

Wonderful property, great pool

A good time was had by all! Easy walk to the beach, lots of time spent in the pool and on the breezy upper deck, big table to play games. We are three families with college and high school age children and other than a few runs to the grocery store, nobody got in a car all week. Property manager was nearby and easy to reach. Highly recommend.

Great vacation spot

The area is beautiful and the property is located so you have a lot of privacy. It's close to a grocery store and there is so much you can do for entertainment. We definitely hope to return to this area again.

Smooth Sailing

Oceans Sands is a great neighborhood and the house was a short walk to the beach. Having only one refrigerator was a problem as we had to keep our beverages in our coolers and continuously buy ice. Overall our family had a good experience!

Great place to get away!

We really enjoyed this house. It had plenty of room for the ten of us to spread out when needed and just the right size table for family meals. The rooms were nice sizes and well furnished, with a lot of linens provided. It is well furnished and the extra beach items like chairs and the large wheeled cart were a huge plus! The kitchen had an odd collection of serving trays and not many choices to store left overs.The hot tub and pool are really nice, though as others have shared there isn't much shade by the pool most of the day. Communication with the manager was great, kept in touch before we arrived and on day of checkout. Having a gas grill with gas provided was a plus. The walk to the beach was not too far and the grocery store is the next street up the road, you could walk if you want to carry groceries back.
